Dugout Discussion

Pogba and Rashford fit to start as Greenwood faces bench duty again

Manchester United take on Arsenal this evening in the final match of Gameweek 7. Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 20:00 BST.

There were a few surprises upon the release of the teamsheets, the biggest of which saw Marcus Rashford (£8.4m) named in the United starting XI.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had, without explicitly ruling the England striker out of the Monday night clash, strongly suggested that Rashford would struggle to recover for this meeting with the Gunners in Friday’s press conference but the most-sold FPL asset of this week maintains his ever-present record.

All of which is bad news for the 20% or so of Mason Greenwood‘s (£4.4m) owners who started the budget FPL forward in Gameweek 7, as the teenage forward is only among the substitutes.

Paul Pogba (£8.4m) has also recovered from the swollen ankle he aggravated in the EFL Cup tie against Rochdale last week and returns to the midfield.

Pogba replaces Nemanja Matic (£4.8m) in the double-pivot, while Jesse Lingard (£6.4m) ousts Juan Mata (£6.3m) from the number ten role.

There is no Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£5.5m) in United’s starting XI, meanwhile, with his place in defence being taken by youngster Axel Tuanzebe (£4.4m).

The Red Devils have revealed that Wan-Bissaka misses out because of tonsillitis.

Unai Emery has made two changes to his starting XI from the team that beat Aston Villa 3-2 last weekend.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (£5.1m) is available after returning from suspension but only makes the bench, with Calum Chambers (£4.4m) replacing him at right-back.

Dani Ceballos (£5.6m) also makes way, with Lucas Torreira (£4.9m) promoted to the line-up.

Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney (both £5.4m) aren’t involved despite their return to first-team action in the EFL Cup last week.

Budget midfielder Bukayo Saka (£4.5m) – owned by just 0.1% of FPL managers – gets his second successive start and joins Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) and Nicolas Pepe (£9.4m) in a front three for the visitors.

Manchester United XI: De Gea; Tuanzebe, Lindelöf, Maguire, Young; McTominay, Andreas Pereira; Lingard, Pogba, James; Rashford.

Arsenal XI: Leno; Chambers, Sokratis, David Luiz, Kolasinac; Xhaka, Guendouzi, Torreira; Saka, Aubameyang, Pépé.

Le sigh... Just +5 points from that ... 66 for the GW, which is absolutely fine, no doubt about it, but really wanted a haul to gain further ground. I'm super greedy this weekend, no lie.

Can't believe how poor both these sides are. Aubamayang seemed to be the only genuine quality player out there. If the likes of Leiciester and West Ham can get a run of results they have a good chance of cracking the top 6, particularly Leicester. Can't see either of Man U or Arsenal in the top 4

Arsenal will get top 4, home form will drag them over the line. Bellerin, Holding and Tierney to come back as well will make a massive difference

Same old Arsenal every year. They'll bottle it when the pressure builds. Who do you think will miss out? Spurs or Chelsea? Im not overly convinced by any of them but reckon Tottenham and Cheslea will be ok. Leicester is more and more looking like a dark horse every time I see them play

Pukki, Cantwell & Hayden > Mount, Yarmo & Greenwood.
(Greenwood, Dendocker is so I can switch to 3-5-2 from 3-4-3.)

It was my plan for next week or week after, but had exact funds and last night they were both rising.
I just did it like that.. been priced out of so many moves recently. Long term I think Yarmo and Mount are better, but mad to do it after keeping Pukki and Cant for this home game...
So now im basically praying Norwich fail hard and lose their form.

      Considering Salah+Haller > Auba+Mahrez for a -4 for the next few weeks.

Madness? Salah, Sterling, Auba, KDB would be ideal, but the rest of the team would suffer.

I take Kun over auba every time Auba service is terrible how he still manages to get points just shows how deadly he is but Kun gets 4 or 5 big chances a games Auba gets 1 1/2 chance if the other team makes a mistake.

Arsenal best midfielder is the guy with the hair man city is KDB says it all really.

Sell Kun for Auba at your peril

Currently have Kun and weighed the option of getting Auba for him for a hit but realized that even if Kun doesn't start, he can match his tally so not worth the -4.

Think you are right, although one is more likely to play 90 than the other
Kun 17.4 mins per goal attempt vs. 30 for Auba
Kun 80 mins per xG vs. 186 for Auba

How the hell did that linesman get that wrong. Man U player literally three feet away from his line of sight on it.

Linesmen had a day off, a couple of more misses today with corners and fouls...

Which combo scores more this weekend?

      A) Salah & Mcginn
      B) Auba (C) & Cantwell (-4) (McGinn benched here)

Depends on Captain in A. Probs A though, but who knows. Nobody knows, go with your gut 🙂 and one you'll least regret

Yeah, I will be captaining a City player in A. I guess it's sensible to leave it a week, but even after tonight's Arsenal performance Auba vs Bournmouth is just so juicy.

        Thanks guys.
