Welcome to the latest round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions. This article covers Gameweek 8 in FPL, Gameweek 24 in Fantasy Eliteserien, and Gameweek 27 in Fantasy Allsvenskan.
Head-to-Head Leagues
After seven victories on the trot Owen Walker (aka Zan Keroski) finally lost his 100% winning record in the FFS Head-to-Head leagues.
Glynn Sherwood inflicted Owen’s first defeat despite captaining Teemu Pukki for a 2-point captain return. Instead goals from Mané, Mount, and Abraham were enough to give Glynn his third win in League 1.
Both Owen and Craig Johnson (aka Bouncebackability) have picked up 21 points out of a possible 24. However it’s Craig who takes top spot by virtue of having the better overall rank: Craig is currently 82,212th while Owen is 130,623rd.
Craig finished 64th in the 2014/15 season and has eight more finishes top 10,000.
Elsewhere in the Head-to-Head leagues, Eirik Aasen Aukland made it eight wins out of eight in League 5 while Pavle Ziman remains the only boss in League 6 to have won all of his matches. There are still four managers in League 7 and ten managers in League 8 with 100% winning starts.
Currently 257th overall, Thomas Saelen in Division 102 of League 8 has the best overall rank of any manager in the Head-to-Head leagues. It’s a competitive division because despite doing so well Thomas trails Satyam Kumar by three points. Satyam is one of the ten managers in League 8 with 24 points out of 24.
A fixtures table will be published in the Scout’s Guide to Gameweek 9 next week. However, if you would like to find out who you are playing before then, follow this link. Use your browser’s find in page function (Ctrl+F) to locate managers. All this information and more is contained in the main Head-to-Head page.
Fantasy Football Scout Mini-Leagues
Mohammad Hafiz Emran still leads our Fantasy Football Scout mini-league but has now slipped to 29th overall. Mohammad was second in Gameweek 6.
In Gameweek 8 he took his third 4-point hit of the season, and second in two weeks, to replace Mepham and Cantwell with Pieters and Mount.
New entry Darren Hyatt is only three points behind. Unlike Mohammad, Darren has not yet played any chips or taken any hits. He is in his twelfth FPL season and has a best finish of 1,555th in 2017/18.
There are currently 43,540 managers participating in the Fantasy Football Scout mini-league, to join them enter code ooyz44 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site.
Tom Foster has seen his lead reduced to 17 points in our FFS Members mini-league as Robbie Lang moves into second place. Tom has dropped to 393rd overall following a season-high rank of 76th overall in Gameweek 3.
The code to join the FFS Members League can be found on the Members page.
Community Mini-Leagues and Competitions
In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score for Gameweek 8 was 30 points, this saw 201 managers eliminated. The threshold for elimination increases to 7% for Gameweek 9.
Over 1,800 managers have departed the competition so far with 3,009 left to battle it out for the coveted title of Last Man Standing. It is still possible to join them: entries are accepted up until Gameweek 22 – use the code bcvy39 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site. However you must pass all the previous safety scores to qualify.
Aside from bragging rights, the winner will receive a free Fantasy Football Scout Membership for the 2020/21 season.
The draft process in this year’s Pundit’s Play-Off Community Tournament took place yesterday. The 12 managers have now selected their squads of 14. Teams now have to decide on a name, motto and avatar before this Saturday. The first matches kick off in Gameweek 9.
The top seven positions in our FFS Mods & Cons mini-league are all unchanged, with only 25 points covering the septet. Dan Laidlaw (aka Legomané)’s lead over Neale (aka SkontoRigga) has been cut to a single point.
Mark Taylor has regained the lead in RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league a position he previously held in Gameweeks 4 and 5. He is now up to 491st overall. John Holmes, who led after Gameweeks 6 and 7, is only one point behind, and 514th overall. As in the Mods and Cons, it’s extremely tight at the top!
Managers with a top 10k finish may join the league using the code m0tq9y.
It’s a similar story in Chaballer’s Top 1,000 HoF League as Ómar Olgeirsson holds a narrow 1-point lead over Phil Ampleford.
Phil had six consecutive top 10,000 finishes from 2011/12 to 2016/17 and featured in a Meet The Manager video with Joe last year. This is Ómar’s sixth season playing FPL, in his previous five seasons he has had three top 10,000 finishes with his best being 1,226 in the 2016/17 season.
Ómar is 474th in the Career Hall of Fame (HoF) with Phil in 241st place. Managers in the top 1,000 of the Career HoF may enter the league using the code beeps2.
2017/18 FPL winner Yusuf Sheikh closed the gap on 2016/17 FPL supremo Ben Crabtree to 9 points at the top of the exclusive FPL Champions League. Yusuf moves up to 39,239 overall as Ben slips to 17,807.
Despite a captain blank, Yusuf enjoyed returns from six of his players for a Gameweek-high 56 points. Meanwhile Ben’s team picked up just one goal and one clean sheet for a close to average 38 points.
Ben’s decision to bring in Michael McGovern almost backfired as Norwich conceded five goals to Aston Villa, however a first-half penalty save ensured the goalkeeper finished the week as his highest scorer with nine points.
Eliteserien and Allsvenskan
Svein Johansen opened up a 15-point gap at the top of the FFS Eliteserien mini-league in Gameweek 24.
In a low-scoring Gameweek Svien’s team managed three clean sheets out of four as he amassed an above-average 39 points. Luke Dyer held onto second spot with 31 points while Eirik Pedersen climbed to third, just a point behind, following his score of 42.
35 points was sufficient for Håvard Gustad to reclaim the overall lead from Arne Thon as the teams competing for the Fantasy Eliteserien crown also struggled. Håvard has led for seven of the last eight Gameweeks. He is 45 points ahead of Svein Johansen with six rounds left.
With three Gameweeks to go can anyone catch Daniel Sebestyen at the top of FFS Allsvenskan mini-league?
In Gameweek 27 Daniel scored a decent 52 points to maintain a healthy 25-point lead as the chasing pack jostle for position.
Taking back second place with a vengeance is Simon Eriksson after his impressive score of 68 points. Simon made two free transfers replacing Marcus Danielsson and Muamer Tankovic with Robert Lundström and Sebastian Larsson for an immediate 13-point net gain.
Three points behind Simon is Jan Inge Nordby in third place with Henrik Mäkitalo six points further back in fourth. Both managers picked up 56 points in Gameweek 27 to stay within touching distance of Daniel.
In the battle to be crowned champion of Fantasy Allsvenskan Daniel is second overall, 15 points behind the current leader Tobias Wahlström. The pair share the same front three and have four defenders in common so, transfers depending, it’s in midfield where the title will be decided.
Simon, Jan, and Henrik all join Daniel in the top ten overall making for an impressive showing from Fantasy Football Scout participants. Well done guys!
