Scoutcast discusses Pukki, Leicester and emerging FPL trends

After a long international break, the Scoutcast is back to discuss all the key talking points ahead of Gameweek 9.

You can watch it from 20:00 to 21:00 BST on our YouTube channel, or embedded in the article below.

For Episode 304, Joe is joined by Fantasy Football Scout editor David and special guest Sam Bonfield, one half of the well-known FPL Family.

Currently enjoying a 19k worldwide rank, Sam is a regular on the FPL Show, FPLFYI and the official FPL podcast.

She will be making her debut on the Scoutcast tonight after contributing to articles on Fantasy Football Scout over the last 12 months.

On the show tonight, we will be looking at what has become of Teemu Pukki (£7.1m) in recent weeks, as well as whether Leicester are a team we should be looking at going forward.

Finally, we will also be discussing how best we can pick up emerging trends in Fantasy, to make sure we are ahead of the curve on any upcoming bandwagons.

Would you do VVD -> Robertson if you had 2FT and no pressing issues.

VVD a baps magnet however if its a tight game and pool keep a CS

    Robbo far greater attacking threat

yes. Matip just as good an option as VVD this year for 1 mil less, but TAA and Robbo obviously trump the CBs for attacking potential

Vvd more nailed than matip though

equal at the moment i'd say. All form based for Matip, but if he keeps up the level he is playing at the moment (which he has been playing at since the back end of last season), Klopp wont be dropping/resting him.

Throw James in for one final fling.

Manchester United’s Welsh wingers like flings I hear.

          Captain Abraham

I have same front three Ag sub, Au 6, Ab 9, or Salah could make Sunday captain fun.

      For FPL: Saka, Tierney(youngster?), Martinelli

In General: Saka, Willock, Guendouzi, Martinelli, ESR, Reiss Nelson,

KT turned 22 last June, so definitely still a youngster: if 24 year olds win young player of the year (Sterling) then 22 is young.

    4. Arteta
      • 8 Years
      4 years, 5 months ago

20 or younger: Guendouzi, Martinelli, Willock, Nketiah, Saka, Nelson, Smith-Rowe, Balogun, Saliba.

21-24: Pepe, Bellerin, Tierney, Holding, Chambers, Maitland-Niles, Torreira + Ceballos if he stays.

The future is bright indeed 🙂

Help...I have 2 FTs and 0.0ITB. What to do?

One thought I have is downgrading Digne to a 4.5 (like Willems on NEW) so that I can use the funds elsewhere possibly a Pukki to a C. Wilson.

    Any other suggestions?

Current team with 2FTs and 0 ITB:
    Pope
    Otamendi, TAA, Digne, Lundstram, Kelly
    Salah, Sterling, Mount, Cantwell, Dendoncker
    Kane, Pukki, Abraham

This week sees Chelsea (435DS) reach the top of the pile with their fixture with Newcastle at Stamford Bridge. Manchester City (404DS) ask us to show faith and rate as the second easiest fixture as they face Crystal Palace away. Just failing to make the list is Spurs (348DS) as they face Watford at home.

He did brace and I did see Sterling miss better chances for example. Anyway, if he had any confidence issues, they are gone now. Playing probably Finland first time ever to this tournament is a historical win for him. So it will have a significant confidence boost that will last longer than foreigners would believe.

Yet if Norwich stops totally scoring, there is nothing he can do.

Thoughts on this WC draft please

    Pope McGovern
    TAA Dunk Lund Soyuncu Rico
    Mane Sterling Mount KDB Mcginn
    Wilson Abraham Connolly

    Got 1.3 ITB 🙂

Very nice. Would go CHO over McGinn for the short-term appeal more than anything. Then save the money ITB for Wilson to Vardy in GW14 (perhaps).

I see McGovern in a lot of teams as second keeper.
He really an option as Krul is due back soon, no?

    Pope / [ 1 ]
    TAA / Pereira / [ 2 ] / Lundstram / Rico
    [ 3 ] / KDB / Maddison / Mount / Cantwell
    Vardy / Wilson / Abraham

    1) Button or McGovern?
    2) Unknown DEF
    3) Salah or Mané

    Which combo?
    A - Salah & [5.0m] Boly, leaving 0.0 ITB
    B - Salah & [5.0m] Dunk, leaving 0.4 ITB
    C - Mané & [5.9m] Boly, leaving 0.9 ITB
    D - Mané & [5.9m] Dunk, leaving 1.3 ITB
    E - Mané & Azpi/Ota/Tierney/other punt, or alternative.

    Don't mind having money ITB.

    Thoughts on James > Traore?

Frees up money to bring in either Wilson or Abraham for Pukki with the second FT?

think there are better cheaper options then Traore - think his performance at city was a bit of a fluke

Any suggestions? £5m seems to be about right for him (he's my 5th mid) and the other sub-£5m players (inc McTominay and Jorginho) hardly scream out to be picked.

    Would you WC this lot?
    Pope, Heaton
    Robbo, VVD, Soy, Lundstram, Rico
    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Mount, Cantwell
    Abraham, Pukki, Greenwood
    1FT, 0.5 itb

    a WC I've considered:
    Pope, Ryan
    TAA, Otamendi, Soy, Lundstram, Rico
    Mane, KDB, Mount, Son, Dendonker
    Jimi, Abraham, C Wilson
    (0.8 itb)

Few decisions on wc left to make:

    1) Pope or Henderson

    2) Pick 2 of Vardy, Wilson, Auba, Jimenez (also have Maddison)

    3) Best sub 5m defenders? (not Soyuncu, Lundstram or Rico)

I have decided to use a mini WC this week with -4 and 3 Transfers.
Which is better? A or B?

    A) Vardy in for Pukki? Mount in for Sterling or Salah? Timori in for Lowton? -4
    B) Vardy in Pukki? Mount in for Sterling or Salah? Madison in for Donkey? -4

    Current team:
    Pope ( Button)
    Ota Soyuncu Guilbert (Lundstrum Lowton)
    KDB Salah Sterling Cantwell (Donkey)
    Auba Pukki Tammy
