FFS Cup

2019/20 FFS Cups are now open for entry

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce the dates of our Fantasy Premier League cup competitions for the 2019/20 campaign.

We are launching our latest open-to-all tournament, along with a tenth competition for Members only. Both tournaments have £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up for the open tournament can be found here.

Members can sign up to both tournaments, via entry forms here and here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi, TH14, 2EyedTurk, Man-Chest-Heir and reigning champion LOKOMOTIV.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

In our Members Cup, our list of winners is as follows: Waltzingmatildas, Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kickers Acquafresca, Trigg Ola Svanheld, Malaikat Jahad, rrcmc and the current champion Jay #.

Again, those listed above will gain a bye to the first round proper of the Members Cup should they enter with the username listed.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How do the Cup Competitions Work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 13, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 14.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10:30am on Monday November 25, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

The qualifying round for the Members Cup will take place week later in Gameweek 14, with the first round running in Gameweek 16.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday December 2, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

Entrants must have registered their teams in Fantasy Premier League ahead of Gameweek 1.

How do I enter?

Enter the open-to-all FFS Cup via the entry form here.

Enter the FFS Members Cup via the entry form here. This form is only visible to Members and you will need to log into the Members’ area to view the form.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team ID at the point of entry – you may need to remove an erroneous ‘a’ from the link before clicking to verify your team ID. If your FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

Your entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team ID as part of the process.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The open-to-all FFS Cup list is here.

The Members FFS Cup list is here.

How do I find my FPL team ID?

Your FPL ID is your unique ID for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right-hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL ID field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after November 25 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

Results from the Members Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after December 2 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

Do I have to enter if I’m a previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a Fantasy Football Scout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

When you are entering the FFS Cup it asks you to confirm if your team ID is correct by clicking the url link.

This link is no longer correct so it can't lead you to your team history.

I don't want to be this basic but -

      Salah Greenwood --> Vardy & Maddison, 2FT?

going to monitor Salah's fitness for a bit longer but if he looks shaky this is a no-brainer yes?

Even with my horrible rank, I feel my team is on the right path after a really successful hit last week. The moves were:
Sterling, CHO & Wilson to Maddison, Martial and Jimi.
My question is, what do I do now? Defence needs some big work.
    Team.
    Pope
    Toby Mendy Kelly Lord Mina
    Martial Mount Maddison KDB Cathcart
    Auba Jimi Tammy

Auba needs to go and ideally fund a Pool attacker/defender or both if possible. A Leicester defender should also be a priority.

If I should have got rid of him that would have been 3 weeks ago. Can’t get shot of Aubameyang with his amazing fixtures surely.

Yup given the fixtures you have to keep him I guess.

First off without even thinking Maddison.
            Then I’d say Jimi.
Reason being the Martial transfer was a 3 week pint and 1 of those has gone now. Where as Jimi has 4 plum games coming.

Attack looks fine, time to use transfer on defense.

Mendy and Toby to Robertson and Soyuncu will be a good start

Yes that’s got to be the way. Probably not for a bit though. Who to get rid of first? And then who in first?
Was thinking Mendy to Söyüncü and then Toby or Mina to TAA. Any reason you’d go Robbo?

        1. Holmes
          • 10 Years
          4 years, 4 months ago

Yep, Mendy to Soyuncu makes sense as Mendy isnt a sure starter plus they might not keep CS with upcoming fixtures.

Not much between Robertson and Trent I guess, just personal preference since I like how Robertson play. Set-piece is a positive for Trent though.

Defence looks wild, I admire the punts, Mina bound to come good soon the biggest set piece threat in the league. Toby has to go so does mendy. Choose one for this week as probably not worth a hit and yeah Soy 😉 is probably a fair shout. Lovely mid and attack for the foreseeable

You can rely on both soy and Lund every week from here on. You’ll only then need one of Mendy/Mina for next week. Then you can give yourself more choice by losing one the week after. The cheap options are so cool this year so your conscience can be clear here. No need to stress. Lose one, any one this week. Give yourself the luxury of a PVA pick next week maybe :O

Have you seen Crystal Palace’s fixture run after Liverpool...??

    Bur (a), Bou (h), Wat (a), BHA (h), New (a), WHU (h), Sou (a), Nor (a).

I know theyre not the most fashionable of teams on here, but that said, I think we could all find a space for one in our teams, especially with the busy Xmas schedule fast upon us.

I genuinely think with that kind run of games, they are being somewhat overlooked.

I’m Considering doing Guilbert > PVA.

    1. The Train Driver
      • 8 Years

With Zaha out of form there is no creativity, can't see many goals there and the ones that come, hard to tell who will get the points. If I had to pic I would go for PVA.

      1. The Wanton Trader
        • 6 Years

I think PVA’s the one for me.
I can’t afford a Pool defender without removing one of my front 7, which I’m not prepared to do.
I quite fancy PVA to get some decent returns in that run...

I'm looking at King---> Ayew but Mousset is also an option. Would have been nice if Zaha/Milivojevic were playing well.

Leaving ARS/MANC aside, they do have decent set of fixtures till GW30.

      1. The Wanton Trader
        • 6 Years

I like Ayew as an option too, but with a front line of,
        Maddison / Mane / Martial / KDB
        Auba / Vardy / Abraham,
there’s no room for an attacker.

I've been weighing up PVA and Ayew as well. PVA likely but just can't justify Ayew yet with a current front line of Party, Tammy and Jimi

I think Cahill would be a good option as a cheap 5th defender too.

Depends how many moves you want to make and when else you planned to use the WC.

You could do a few transfers to improve now. I prefer to use WC in a IB.

Yeh agreed, still up in the air with injuries to Salah, Digne has Norwich at home and feel it could be better used before Liverpools blank, but no Vardy or Maddison is the only reason I'd use it really!

I would do it.. Not many changes needed but NEED few.. Use it, make some profit, improve your whole squad and also get rid of the worry WHEN to use my WC.. Think of it like this, in future do you want to BE in a situation where you HAVE to use WC..

Absolutely not. He was sold immediately after the City game for Robertson

Angelino seems the be offering the same threat going forward as Mendy.
I think it's time to get rid as he's a big rotation risk.

Really? What I saw of him he was terrible at getting forward, especially compared to Mendy. Also when Mendy plays, Sterling gets into much better positions...

Sterling is blanking with or without Mandy on the pitch.

If Mendy is their to provide width then Angelino does that very well.
Has put in some really good crosses over past 2 gameweeks.

    Pope
    TAA - Lundy - Soyuncu
    Mane - Sterling - KDB - Mount
    Vardy - Abraham - Connolly

    (4.0 Cantwell Rico Tomori)
    1ft & 1.6m

    KDB & Connolly ➡️ Maddison & Jimenez?

Leaves me with enough cash to upgrade Mount to Pulisic the week after.

Hard to make a case against those moves?

You have my exact team except I have Martial over Mount.

I'm planning Sterling > Salah this week if he's fit. OR Sterling + Tomori > Son + Robertson

Triple Liverpool is the focus. Don't chase last week's points. The fixture swing is for Liverpool. They are priority. Doing Mad and Jimmy is chasing points and introduces bench problems too.

Who are you thinking of starting out Rico/Tomori/Cantwell/Connolly this week?

I agree with your point about not chasing points but Leicester and Wolves do have some tasty fixtures lined up.

Don't want Jimenez. His underlying stats aren't good, Europa league still an issue. Maddison is good yeah, but I chose Martial last week so I'm gonna stick to that.

Rico starts. Set pieces and playing at home. Bench is Connolly, Tomori, Cantwell.

Cantwell is bottom of my bench every week. He's been dropped. Will remove for fodder soon or do something like Sterling + Cantwell > Pulisic + Maddison

    Mane Mount Maddison Martial KDB

    Vardy Jiminez Tammy

Imho, lose Digne, and with that team you dont need 5 mids so lose one and use the money to upgrade the Everton defender to TAA.

It makes sense to move on Mount, so it looks like you are all set. Your strong bench is all ready for Gw18

He is a supremely unselfish footballer, which makes him a frustrating fantasy asset. His stats have him shooting less in recent games, it might be time to get on him because he is a streaky player
