Steven Gerrard is back for Liverpool this weekend. Charlie Adam is out for the season, though, as are Seb Larsson and Kieran Richardson for Sunderland. Younes Kaboul and Emmanuel Adebayor may be back this weekend for Spurs, while Owen Coyle has plenty of injury worries ahead of Bolton’s second double Gameweek in a row:

Liverpool have revealed that Steven Gerrard is set for a return to action ahead of their double Gameweek. The Reds skipper missed out in last weekend’s home loss to West Brom as a precautionary measure, with Kenny Dalglish confirming today the midfielder has trained all week and is “fine”. With a trip to Norwich and a home clash against Fulham up next, Gerrard has the potential to produce despite his side’s poor form – his previous double Gameweek 28 returned 22 points. Given that the FA Cup Final against Chelsea is four days after the Cottagers’ game, he should be afforded enough time to recuperate if he plays both league matches, though his chances much depend on Dalglish’s rotation thoughts, as the Merseyside club look to pick up their second piece of silverware this season.

Charlie Adam won’t be taking part, though. Liverpool confirmed earlier this morning that the former Blackpool man is out for the season with a knee problem. Adam picked up the injury in the Gameweek 29 loss at QPR and was subbed off at half-time; although he won’t require an operation, the Scot will take no further part in his side’s campaign.

Reports suggest Younes Kaboul could be in line for a shock return to the Spurs team as early as this Sunday. Although Harry Redknapp all but ruled the centre-half out for the season only yesterday, Kaboul is winning his battle to overcome a knee problem ahead of the double Gameweek matches against Blackburn and Bolton. Despite earlier reports of a fall-out with Redknapp, Emmanuel Adebayor is expected to return after missing out with a hamstring problem at QPR last week, though Benoit Assou-Ekotto remains a significant doubt after sustaining a shoulder injury – Danny Rose is expected to step up in his absence.

Seb Larsson and Kieran Richardson have both been ruled out for the season by Sunderland. Larsson has undergone minor surgery to alleviate a hernia problem and, with the Black Cats’ top-flight safety assured, Martin O’Neill has granted the midfielder leave in order to afford him enough recovery time to play for Sweden in this season’s Euro 2012. Larsson has missed just three games all season but revealed he’s been struggling with a groin problem in recent weeks, while Richardson has also went under the knife due to a groin injury – he missed last weekend’s trip to Villa due to the problem. With three games left of the campaign, Larsson’s absence is likely to offer Ahmed Elmohamady a chance on the right flank, while Phil Bardsley could continue at left-back – John O’Shea was handed the right-back role upon his return from injury at Villa last time out.

Owen Coyle has plenty of injury worries to contend with ahead of Bolton’s pair of upcoming fixtures. The Trotters’ second double Gameweek in a row sees them take on Sunderland and Tottenham but, as the manager admitted earlier today, he is sweating over the availability of a number of players after Tuesday night’s win at Villa, with his midfield, in particular, hit hard:

I don’t think it is rocket science to understand that Chris Eagles came off injured and he is one of those, while Mark Davies was touch-and-go before the game but managed to play through it. Ryo Miyaichi had a bad shoulder and got another bang on it when he was upended on the touchline at Villa Park. Darren Pratley is still shrugging off the virus he had. He hasn’t trained today but we will look at that tomorrow (Friday). There are one or two others who have taken knocks but hopefully we can get them patched up and available to go and try to win some important points at Sunderland.

Roberto Martinez revealed earlier he will give both Franco Di Santo and Hugo Rodallega “until the very last minute” to shake off injuries ahead of this weekend. The pair are struggling to overcome calf and knee problem respectively ahead of this weekend’s home game against Newcastle, leaving Wigan facing a striker shortage – Connor Sammon is likely to step in against the Magpies if both forwards miss out.

on sunday jelavic wasnt even on 50 % when I went to sleep around 4-5 hrs before deadline and to my surprise he rose the next the day..

At the same time players have been stuck on 90s mon through friday sometimes this season..

But imo player shouldnt really matter at this stage.. take a hit on the price rise and try and make the correct decision..

If it helps, I already own VDV over Bale.

    BAE Verm Caulker

    Cisse (VC) Rooney Jelly (C)

I am happy to rely on Total FPL for risers but I know its no good for fallers. Anyone know if FISO is reliable for this?

Am considering bae/mclean/ade to terry/piennar/jelly. Would rather leave it until tomorrow to get more news on adebeyor but with only 0.2 spare that may not be enough (as Jelly will def take 0.1)

FISO is reliable for fallers in general, but not when they're flagged, then they seem to be a bit hit and miss,

They use a formula of increase required NTO by 1.5 for an orange flag, 2x for a red flag, and it works sometimes but not others

Players never seem to fall early though, they sometimes fall late.

And having looked at the totals the only price change that will happen tonight is Jelly rising, with Terry rising an outside chance, the others shouldn't fall

barring injuries it looks pretty good... out of interest who's your 3rd striker? they might worth considering over Siggy... (depending who it is)...

i have Barfa in the slot where you have Cabaye... his forms been good even if the points didnt reflect it this week...

i have Kelly too... but i'm a bit concerned by his hand injury... might be better to wait on that one... or go with Hibbert...

Tough one, I see Swansea as very likely for a clean sheet, but despite that I'm benching Vorm for Schwarzer on the offchance one of his games will be a CS, though I am playing Caulker.

I don't really see a CS for stoke atall this week, but Arsenal do have a few players out.

Sorensen won't play both games, max one, so Vorm is the better bet

It's possible, unlikely but possible. Even if Bolton lose 3 nil both games, that only knocks 2 points off, and whenever a side gets heavily beaten like that the keeper will most probably have made a shed load of saves.

Not sure if that works, surely if goalie has form with letting in goals then over 180 min he is more likely to let in goals. So his potential for not getting CS is higher, doesn't matter if 2 games are in same week.

      Krul
      Verm - Simps - Skrtel
      VdV - Demps - HBA - Siggy
      Rooney - RVP - Aguero

Is it worth a 4 point hit to do Aguero > Jelavic?

I will give you the same advice I gave Menly

        3 factors to consider

        1) Will you want Aguero next week

        2) Will you want Jelavic next week

        3) Do you think Jelavic (FUL, sto, wol, NEW) will outscore Aguero (MNU, new, QPR) by at least 4 points.

If the answer to 2 and/or 3 is yes, then do it.

with those combinations you might get

        A- worst scenario 8 points / good 16 / best 24
        B- worst 6 / good 10/14 / best 18
        C worst 4 / good 8/12/14/best 20

Okay, without the Scoutcast this week I've got to make a big decision. It's one most of us are having to face. My current team:

      Krul (Vorm)

Terry Riise McAuley (Evans J) (Assou-Ekotto)

Ben Arfa Valencia Dempsey Petrov (Sigurdsson)

      Cisse Van Persie Rooney

I'm top of my important mini-league. I've already spent my free transfer getting rid of Cahill (which may have been premature I know).

      Do I
      A) Switch out RVP for Jelly -4
      B) Switch out Rooney for Jelly -4
      C) Sit tight

tough call... it depends how big a lead you have... i can see RVP grabbing more than Rooney this GW... and the next 2 after... (but i swapped out Rooney for Tevez and that backfired on me) - go with your gut...

ok not sure on the WBA one, the Sunderland one was due to him being saved for the cup semi

The blanks earlier were injury related, same with Jags.

Ok just looked through it, Hibbert has definitely played the most minutes (bar Baines) but most of Jag's absence can be put down to injury. If you're not in need to the extra cash I;d say Jags is a better option. Don't forget he's captain most of the time (unless Neville plays)

      Thoughts on GW36 team?

      Krul (Mig)
      Simpson Caulker Vermaelen (Kompany Evans)
      Sigurdsson Dempsey Pienaar Bale (Valencia)
      Rooney Cisse Aguero

      Bank: 1.8

      I did McClean > Bale + Walcott > Pienaar (-4)
I'd then consider doing Aguero > RVP for GW37 (if he drops 0.2) for a decent GW37 team.
