What's the big 'sacrifices' you are making for a balanced side?

    Martial over Bruno?
    Doherty down to Dier?
    Werner to Chelski midfielder?

Which is least damaging to your points potential?

Getting rid of salah after week 1 to Bruno. Enhances the rest of the team especially if I don’t plan on captaining him

no salah to start with to get bruno on the bench
Doh potentially down to diet to get a fully playing bench but I'm still not sure which would be better for my points potential

Oh I do. Watched Liverpool v Norwich last season had Alisson TAA and Robertson. Captained TAA. Thought it was the smart - move nearly worked but Pukki spoiled things - and Alisson got injured. 😀

This year on form and fixtures it is pointing to avoid liverpool at least for 1-3 gws. I feel many are just owning Liverpool from fear without any expectation.

Hello mate, B looks good and for your 4.5 mid take a look at Bissouma of Brighton.......Very good player and in my opinion under value, and has a goal threat.

For your 4.0 defender Mitchell short term so take a look at WHU Johnson, who is now our first choice and will get loads of mins.....admittedly opening 7 games are meh.....

Do you not fancy Lascelles instead of Justin ??

I notice people are only saying this about Alli since the spurs documentary. Personally if I was you I would go Barnes and Doherty - plus keep cash in bank.

It's more down to the fact that Jose is playing Alli in his second striker position where he's brilliant at, his preseason displays have shown what he's capable of this season. Mourinho loves Alli and can get the best out of him.

Because he hasn't been playing there, Poch moved him deeper due to the complete lack of midfield in Spurs and the loss of Dembele.

Technically it wouldn't be a terrible call

Assuming he'd just gotten 25 points - that's probably 10% of his entire seasons score with the next 90% to follow over the remaining 36 games

        1. Goonsquad245
          • 8 Years
          4 years, 18 days ago

I don't follow....are you suggesting that Auba has a quota of 250 points for the year, and if he scores 25 in the first 2 weeks it makes him less likely to score well in the remaining 36?

          1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
            • 14 Years
            4 years, 18 days ago

It's ok not to follow 🙂

The comment was - that assuming he'd just scored 25 points which is the scenario OP has put forward - that's *probably* (not guaranteed, not a quota - *probably*) 10% of his season's score (considering 250 sounds about fair - he's never managed it before, and as a mid last season he'd have got 230-ish but give him benefit of the doubt)

And in that scenario (where he's just scored 10% of his season's points) that leaves 90% of his output for the remaining gameweeks - of which there are 36

So (again in the scenario put forward) technically selling him isn't a terrible call - you've banked a lot of his upside and can move on

So let me get this straight. Just to make sure I follow 🙂

              - You estimate Auba to score 250 points this season, which feels within the realms of possibility I agree
              - Therefore, if Auba scores 25 points in the first 2 gameweeks, he's already got 10% of your estimate of this season's score which doesn't change based on the first two gameweeks
              - You therefore think that it makes him less likely to do as well in the following 36 gameweeks (because he's already scored 10% of your estimate of his season's score and therefore only has 90% remaining), so you're factoring that into the decision to sell

Take all the time in the world - there's no rush 🙂

As we were saying - in the hypothetical scenario raised by OP where:

                (a) someone wanted to start with KDB or Sterling, but can't due to the blanks for the mancs - and as a workaround has planned in advance to sell Auba after 2 weeks for those longer term targets, and

                (b) Auba has just scored 25 points in those first two gameweeks

You could say with a reasonable degree of confidence (based on both his 3-ish seasons to date, and countless seasons of data that show 250 points is fairly difficult for pretty much any player to hit) that 250 points would be a fairly safe season points total estimate - maybe little high, maybe little low, but probably close enough for government work

From that you could then say - in answer to the OP's question - that technically it wouldn't be a terrible call

Why? Becuase assuming he'd just gotten 25 points - that's probably 10% of his entire seasons score with the next 90% to follow over the remaining 36 games 🙂

You're using lots of words for a simple yes or no answer. You're either not understanding what I'm asking, or you are and you're trying to obfuscate it by repeating irrelevant information over and over.

I'll try to make it easier for you. If he scored 5 points over the 2 games, is it a worse decision to sell because "that's probably 2% of his entire seasons score with the next 98% to follow over the remaining 36 games 🙂 "

                  1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
                    • 14 Years

I understand your frustration - not liking words doesn't make you a bad person 🙂

But in fairness, you've asked a hell of a lot of questions over this little thread, and I've answered them all for you... Including this latest new hypothetical scenario where someone was set on owning KDB or Sterling, but unfortunately couldn't due to force majeure so had settled on a short term 2 week run with Auba in their stead - during which he now scores 5 points instead of 25

What's different in this hypothetical scenario is that id probably be hesitant to put Auba down for a full 250 point season (after a relatively slow start) - maybe an estimate of closer to 230-ish feels more appropriate

And then in answer to the question (in the words of the op) "still bomb him out for KDB/Sterling"?

The answer is probably - yes it technically wouldn't be a bad decision to SELL considering he's probably looking at somewhere in the region of 225 points over his remaining 36 games but the decision to OWN just wasn't as lucrative as it was in the OP's scenario 🙂

      Salah Auba Son Ritchie
      Werrner DCL Mitro
      ___

      Werner to Kane / Aguero
      Son to Fernandes
      DCL to Jimenez/Ings

Keep coming back to this set and forget back 3: TAA - Doherty - Saiss. I need to find the funds to upgrade Dier to Doherty. To do that however, I would need a playing 5th mid for 5.0... Not great. TAA - Dier - Saiss just as good do you think?

I've got Doherty, TAA, 4.5, 4.5, 4.0 - I was considering moving a 4.5 to Egan but I think I'll hold off as it allows me a 5.5 in the mid which I think has more value.
