Just three days removed from their forgettable FA Cup Final meeting, Liverpool and Chelsea meet once more. This time around the setting is Anfield and, if truth be told, the stake is pride more than the three Premier League points on offer. The Dugout Discussion opens for the occasion, and the team news is in…

Liverpool XI: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Downing, Henderson, Shelvey, Maxi, Suarez, Carroll.
Chelsea XI: Turnbull, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Bertrand, Essien, Romeu, Ramires, Sturridge, Malouda, Torres.

Hoping to avoid the worst tally in over 60 years for home points in a season, Kenny Dalglish plays Andy Carroll (at the expense of Craig Bellamy) alongside Luis Suarez following the impact he made on Saturday. There’s three other changes that see Jamie Carragher, Maxi Rodriguez and Jonjo Shelvey replace Jose Enrique, Steven Gerrard and Jay Spearing.

With a season-defining game awaiting in Munich later this month, a much-changed Chelsea line-up take to the field. There’s only three survivors from the weekend, with Champions League Final suspendees John Terry, Ramires and Branislav Ivanovic all keeping their place.

12 green arrows in a row (I realise I was starting from a low base btw) makes me desperate for number 13 to finish off the season on a high. How best should I achieve this? I really need Aguero, I guess. I have only 3 fit defenders (Simpson + Evans injured), but will just play them and hope.

Currently:
Vorm Krul
Turner Verm Komp
Dempsey Siggy Bale VDV Valencia
RVP Rooney Jelly

I'm thinking either:
a) Rooney -> Aguero (C), bench Dempsey, or
b) Jelly -> Aguero (C) + Dempsey -> Maloney, bench Siggy/Valencia

Thoughts from the DeadZone? Any other options? Help me to number 13 please!

      RDM stated in his interview that Chelsea needed a good game against Blackburn to keep confidence high. Having players not playing for 2 weeks is a negative thing as it reduces their sharpness and interupts any good runs their having. He was also asked about Bayern playing their full strenght side in their last game and if he would so the same, he did not physically acknowedge that he would but it seemed likely from his reaction. Just my thoughts though.

  I went Bale>Silva instead, meant I had to do Rooney>Aguero instead of Jelavic>Aguero but I see it as a much more worth while hit personally.

I am winning my money league by 20 points with lots of $$$ up for grabs. Trying to copy my rival and I did quite well with it this week, with us getting the exact score (56). This week he has made two transfers and had 0.1 in the bank before his trannies and he now has 0.8.

    If he did Gerrard and Defoe ➡ Aguero and a mid, it would have have to have been a mid for 5.7 which is only Anderson Barton Vukcevic Kranjcar Jarvis. Don't think he would've gone for one of them.

      Id do what I always do and make my transfers based on what I think makes my team stronger and how I can get the biggest score. Not shadowing a team to make mine the same. Take this week for example, after making my transfers this week my whole starting 11 will be different to my rivals starting 11.

  Haha, happened to me last week, I thought he had 5.2 in the bank and did Defoe to Rooney, and I was thinking of taking a 4 point hit to get in Rooney, luckily I didn't as it ended up he did Siggurdson ➡ Moses and he only had 0.3 in the bank. Made sure I checked this week as I don't think there is a way to check 🙁

        Yeah, for sure. I won my Euro2008 ML so I have fond memories. Will be nice to have a break from Fpl.
        
        I've been tinkering a bit, but with the setup it's vital to be off to a good start(Thanks Mr Podolski for 2008!) since all the manager subs,WC and free trades a lead will be very difficult to make up.

        Yep, i'm in too. Played the world cup one and Euro 2008, so i'm used to the way it works. It's similar to the UCL game too. I saved my wildcard till the final, to get 11 players without hits, but it doesn't seem to have done much good as like you say the leads can grow quickly in the early stages. I've been tinkering too and originally planned to save my WC to use after the semis but it doesnt make much sense. I'll use it for Matchday 2 or 3.

        Yeah same here. Gw 2/3 for me as well. No use saving WC since it's only -2 for a hit and the allowed free trades I think is enough in the latter stages.
