Chris Brunt is out of West Brom’s home clash with Arsenal. Theo Walcott faces a late fitness test for the Baggies showdown. Jonny Evans may require surgery on an injured foot. David Luiz is making good progress from a hamstring injury, Steve Kean’s injury worries mount up, while Ledley King is set for further knee surgery this summer:

Chris Brunt has been ruled out of Roy Hodgson’s final match in charge of West Brom this Sunday. The midfielder, who has been in decent Fantasy form of late with a goal and 5 bonus points in his last two games, has undergone surgery to have his tonsils removed – he has been struggling with tonsillitis for the past six weeks now, according to Baggies assistant boss Keith Downing. Peter Odemwingie is still battling to overcome the hamstring injury that kept him out of last week’s trip to Bolton, while Jerome Thomas is also a doubt for the visit of Arsenal with flu.

Theo Walcott may be set for a return for the Hawthorns trip. Arsene Wenger revealed this afternoon that the winger is set for a fitness test tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s vital clash. With a win enough to secure third place, the Gunners boss is desperate for Walcott to be available, with Gervinho failing to impress on the right as a recent replacement.

Reports suggest that Jonny Evans’ foot injury may be more serious than first thought. The United centre-half has missed out on his side’s last two matches after sustaining the injury in the 4-4 draw against Everton in Gameweek 35 – he is thought to be unlikely to feature at Sunderland this weekend. While the club had initially thought a rest would help the injury heal naturally, Evans is showing little sign of making progress, with surgery over the summer now a possibility.

David Luiz is making good progress from a hamstring problem ahead of Chelsea’s game against Blackburn. While the centre-half is unlikely to feature from the start, he is said to be in contention for a possible sub appearance against the relegated outfit – he hasn’t played since the middle of last month and Roberto Di Matteo is keen to afford him some game time, with the Champions League Final against Bayern Munich just over a week away. Luiz is thought to have missed training today, along with Gary Cahill and John Obi Mikel – the latter was unavailable for Tuesday’s trip to Liverpool due to injury.

Steve Kean is sweating on the fitness of a couple of key players for the Chelsea encounter. Paul Robinson and David Dunn are both nursing ankle problems and remain doubts for the match, while the Blackburn boss also revealed Bradley Orr is out – the defender has undergone Achilles surgery. Kean is hoping Gael Givet will be ready for the weekend; the defender was taken off at half-time against Wigan on Monday with hamstring and groin problems.

Ledley King could be set to feature for Spurs in Sunday’s crucial home game with Fulham. The centre-half has missed the last three Gameweeks with his ongoing knee problem after a training ground collision worsened his condition – Harry Redknapp admitted King is set to go under the knife again after the season comes to an end:

For the sake of the club and the team, he has tried to play on, but he has been playing in pain and his movement’s not been as good. Hopefully, we’ll get his knee cleared out in the summer and he will be right again. I’m sure the chairman respects everything he has done for the club and we’d love to keep him around.

Owen Coyle has admitted he is considering how to utilise Chung-Yong Lee for Bolton’s vital trip to Stoke this weekend. A victory for the Trotters and a defeat for QPR at City would ensure the Lancashire outfit’s survival and, with the Korean impressing as a sub in last week’s draw with West Brom, Coyle is keeping his options open:

He came through 70 minutes the other day in a practice match and he’s fit. Whether he’s at the point where he can start games is difficult because we wouldn’t want to do anything that could harm his long term well-being. But for that brief period against West Brom you could see his quality and if he continues to improve as he has done then we’ll have to see what can happen against Stoke.

The Bolton boss is also checking on the fitness of Nigel Reo-Coker and Martin Petrov; the latter limped off with ten minutes left against the Baggies but is thought to be nursing no more than a knock.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I don't sign up to this 'nothing to play for' thing myself. These guys (or most of them anyway) are professionals, and Dempsey has been on fire this season. Fulham are playing for league position and Spurs will be going all out to win, leaving space at the back with a patchy defence. Gonna be a few goals in this game...from both teams.

Got two free transfers and can afford Cisse > Kun and Demp > Silva

    Team would be

    Mig (Krul)
    Verm, Kompany, Caulker (Kaboul) (Evans)
    VDV, Val, Siggy, Silva (Pienaar)
    Kun, RVP, Jelly

considering as above playing Caulker over Kaboul and Val over Pienaar to block my rival who is 12 points behind.

    Any good? Other options? Ideas?

7.0 million sounds right. I *believe*, that in the old game (pre EA days) next season price was based on score the previous season. If this is the case, 7.0mill seems right.

Need a bit of advice for this week. Got 1FT and 1.4 in the bank. Currently 17 points ahead in my minileague. Got this at the moment:

    Bogdan (Mignolet)
Terry / Vermaelen / Evans (Caulker / Turner)
Bale / Dempsey / Valencia / Siggy (HBA)
    RVP / Adebayor / Jelavic

Thinking of doing Dempsey & Jelavic –> Moses & Aguero. Does that sound like a plan? I do have a sneaking suspicion that Jelly might grab a goal or two though… Alternatively I could do Adebayor & Dempsey –> Aguero and Yaya? Or just do Evans –> Clichy and keep my front 3… I don’t know. Help!

    Thanks!

This seems to be the most widely used tactic

pick around three potential captains spread across the days and initially captain one on the first day
Bench three players and a gk who are playing on the last day or two so that you can replace those who perform poorly in the main team.

With unlimited transfers at the QF stage, the best time to use the wildcard is straight after gwk1...that way you get a better sense of who is performing and only have to pick a team that will do well in gwk 1.

My gk choices are Cech and Given at the moment...but Cech and the swedish/ukraine one could be good as well.

Anyone see Malouda as worth a gamble this wknd? Surely Chelsea, even resting a few, at home to already relegated Blackburn will score 3+. I have Torres but was thinking maybe Malouda or Kalou instead of C Dempsey. Lamps and Mata likely to be rested?

I've read reports today that Gallas could be asked to play left back, he has played there before with chelsea and marseille.

Even if Bale does play at left back he can still has potential for assists and goals as he got his fair share of these when playing LB before

I've had some issues - I logged in, set up a team and a minileague which I invited others to join. I was then unable to sign back in and it said there was no login associated with my email address. I set up another account under that email address and so now I have two teams in the minileague - one of which I have no control over and that one is the league admin!

    Afternoon all

Have built up a slim lead in ML and aim to improve this weekend though my defence looks dodgy.

    Vorm, (Mign)
    Clichy, Turner, Hibbert (JEvans, Simposn)
    Dempsey, Siggy, Bale, Pienaar (HBA)
    Cisse, RVP, Rooney

2 FT this week so thinking of:
    1. HBA> yaya or ramires
    2. Turner > another cheapie
    3. Roo/Cisse? Aguero (C).

Rival has Suarez, Aguero and RVP

    Any help would be appreciated!!

Baines left out so extra players for other players and Lescott can cover LB if need be. Smalling was in over Jones but Jones being able to be utilised as a DM made him go ahead of Smalling.

A weird feeling is coming over me as the last GW approaches. Last year was the first year of my works ML and going into GW38 the league was over but myself and another were battling for 2nd place so I was going in all guns blazing, only to find my decision to punt on Gibson over Anderson cost me that 2nd spot.

This year my ML is comfortably sewn up (thanks in no small part to the great help I have received on here), I've smashed my all time points record (currently 0n 2,172, my previous best was 2,091) and am sitting just outside 3k (3,010). A sense of calm relaxation has replace the usual sensation of fear mixed in with blind panic. It is a strange but nice feeling that will soon pass once the Fantasy Euro's gets going 😀

Also, Thibault Courtais, the Chelsea keeper who's just won EUROPA with my boys Athletico, apparently Chelsea would like to send him to a PL club next season. Could be a great budget keeper option (ala Krul and Vorm), he's looked quality.

the annoying thing is, I was all set on Ando, Gibson's performance v Schalke swayed me towards him, he got auto-subbed out. Had I picked Ando I would have got 2nd by 1 point.

The fortunes of last season's top 4 in ML are remarkable.

Guy who won is 3rd bottom (and the 2 below him long since gave up) guy who came 2nd is mid-table, I've won it guy who finished 4th with finish either 4th or 5th this season.
