Villa handed new Double Gameweek 19 schedule as Everton, Leeds and Saints lose key fixtures

Fantasy Premier League managers have planning their Double Gameweek 19 in something of a limbo state right now – and the situation changed again on Thursday morning.

Aston Villa’s Sunday afternoon meeting with Everton was postponed, handing the Toffees a Blank Gameweek in the upcoming round of games.

However, Villa are still set for a Double Gameweek as their home match against Newcastle was rearranged for Saturday, January 23.

That means they face Manchester City (away) and the Magpies (home) in Double Gameweek 19, while Steve Bruce’s men now face Arsenal and Villa (both away) in the bumper round of fixtures.

Elsewhere, it was confirmed on Wednesday evening that Leeds’ meeting with Southampton, originally, scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, had been postponed to accommodate FA Cup commitments.

While this was not a massive surprise, following multiple leaks from a variety of outlets, its Fantasy impact is nonetheless significant when it comes to plans for Double Gameweek 19. 

Managers who had spent weeks engineering 12 or more Double Gameweek players and eyeing a Bench Boost (along with a hit or two) will be forced back to the drawing board for three days of fraught reshuffling. 

Leeds players, in particular, were very well-backed, on the back of their recent form and favourable-looking ties, with many leading managers advocating a double or even triple-up.

Suffice to say, the collection of Double Gameweek players in contention for Fantasy inclusion, is in flux once again.

    How many points are you realistically expecting from your BB?

    I consider 15+ a good return.

    Seen people say no to BB with benches that have 12 points just for starting this gw.

      for a DGW (which is when you should play a BB) if your bench does nothing 4 players x 2pts x 2 games = +16
      Therefore I'd at least see it like this
      Poor = 16-24
      Decent = 25-32
      Good = 33+

        To get a good bench post WC for a dgw BB, in this case WC 25 BB26,you would be stuck with the heavy bench till the end of the season without being able to restructure the team.

        Is that worth it?

          If the DGW fixtures ends, up whereby, you have holding, stones, soucek, coufal as your enablers. Then it shouldn't be a problem. Also if it's a DGW, without one or two of city,pool,utd,spurs, you can get the exact team and drop salah/kdb/kane etc for one week.
          The WC & BB combo, is always gives opportunity of a massive rank boost, or at worst a okish rank boost.
          It's worth it.

    Mane ➡️ KDB(c) for free or even a -4 considering I have to sell DCL too is still a no brainer right?

    Have Salah & Bruno also and I'm not too confident about capping them. Expecting the Pool vs United game to be an edgy affair.

      They play each other after the DGW & Liverpool have another couple of fixtures where they are unlikely to keep clean sheets, so Robertson less appealing at his premium price IMO.
      Both W. Ham & City's fixtures are better after the DGW.
      Could see both transfers IN outscoring the transfers OUT by more than 4 points with an extra fixture for KDB & Cresswell nailed & the best DGW fixtures.

    I FH'd this week but the Leeds game now being off dgw has really hurt me & I didn't change things round quick enough when city got given a dgw so I have no city either.
