The Premier League announced new dates for three previously postponed top-flight fixtures on Monday afternoon – and in doing so, confirmed that Double Gameweeks 24 and 25 would take place.

These ‘mini’ Double Gameweeks will occur immediately before what is expected to be the biggest Double Gameweek of the season, with details of that expected to be thrashed out after the FA Cup fifth round has taken place in a week’s time.

Manchester City, Everton, Burnley, Fulham, Leeds United and Southampton are the six teams who will enjoy two Premier League matches in either Gameweeks 24 or 25, with the new schedule as follows:

Wednesday 17 February

18:00 Burnley v Fulham
20:15 Everton v Man City

Tuesday 23 February

18:00 Leeds v Southampton

Gameweek 24 doubles:

  • Manchester City: Tottenham Hotspur (h), Everton (a)
  • Everton: Fulham (h), Manchester City (h)
  • Burnley: Crystal Palace (a), Fulham (h)
  • Fulham: Everton (a), Burnley (a)

Gameweek 25 Doubles:

24 - Cancelo, Stones, Gundo, Pope, Lowton, DCL
    25 - Bamford, Dallas, Ings
    26 - BB
Dead end BGW29 and WC30. Good plan? No hits

I have 5 of those for 24 and will likely get Pope in for McCarthy as my second keeper.

Might do Raphinha in for 25 to add to Dallas and Bamford.

      You plan looks good.

Away to Leicester he’ll punish sellers. Leicester will go for Liverpool and leave plenty of space in behind. Having Alisson, Fabinho and the new centre half back will help too

So I have Dias, Cancelo, Gundo, DCL and 3 transfers for DGW24.

Can field 6 or 7 DGW players plus Salah (lei), Bruno (wba), Grealish (bha), Antonio (SHU) & Cresswell (SHU).

Then WC in 25 and BB in 26.

    Sound plan?

Would you guys do salah(lei) do sterling in 24 for 1 week and reverse it with WC in 25(will lose 0.1 on salah)? (I have Cresswell (shu) bruno rashford (west Brom) grealish(bha) and laca (Leeds) as my single gameweek players, don't wanna bench any)

      2FTs, thinking this? 4.8m ITB.
      Johnstone >> Pope
      Salah >> Son(C)

      McCarthy
      Dallas, Coufal, Cancelo
      Salah, Bruno, Raphina, Soucek, Gündo
      Bamford, Antonio
      (Johnstone, DCL, Dias, Robbo)

Just see how this game pans out.

James is a tough one because this is a 'top' game & maybe it ends up that James plays in those, and CHO plays as the wingback (but mostly up top) in the easier games.

Chilwell is the no brainer here actually, James is the only recognised RWB, CHO also normally plays on the left.

This team and bench order look correct for week 23?

Robertson to Digne and Antonio or Watkins to DCL plan for 24 double ( 6 players in total) and then DCL to Ings for 25 double ( 4 players in total)

      Pope
      Cancelo Dias Dallas
Son (c) Bruno Grealish Gundogan Raphinha
      Bamford Antonio

      Martinez Watkins Coufal Robertson

Firmino & Mitchell to Bamford & Mee for free? Planning for DGW24 & DGW25.

      Martinez
      Cancelo Mee Coufal
      Sterling Bruno Son(C) Gundogan
      DCL Antonio Bamford

      Areola Maguire Targett Burke

Getting in double gameweek players looked so exciting till I realised the players I might have to bench for them. Looks like my team had the easiest fixtures till date that week(west ham vs shu, manu vs West Brom, arsenal attack vs leeds)

SGW players can easily outscore DGW ones, espcially when people of bringing in loads of Burnley players.

Yeah it's not appealing at all. Even Everton has City so DCL only good for 1 fixture. City already almost everyone has 3 anyway...

Soo, my McCarthy - Johnstone double up has not really been returning points lately. If I get Pope now his next 4 games in 3 gameweeks are BHA, cry, FUL, WBA. Surely that's worth 1 FT.

Think I might just bring Pope in for a -4 this week and play. Will feel less harsh doing it next week if I want to take a -4 or 8 next week and get in other players.

I will take a hit this week for son (c) and maybe a hit next week for dbl Burnley defense, I was already eyeing up mee before the announcement

Had Mee in my plans as well. Good fixture this week and in 25. Plan was to bring in Son and captain, no idea now. Its all about DGW fever and I don't want to miss out like I did in 19. Don't want to play it safe again and fear taking hits.

That's true! Just figured I want Pope for 24, so why not bring him in a week earlier, as that will allow me to take a possible hit for someone else in 24.

With current defensive form of Southhampton, I would back Pope to outscore McCarthy in GW25.

The point is though... if you think you're taking two hits, it makes zero difference if it's -4 one week and -4 the next, or -8 next week. Unless you want Pope for that earlier game, what's the purpose?

Agreed. But I think Pope might outscore or match Martinez this week, which means I at least break even on the hit.

        Johnstone, Areola
        Cancelo, Stones, AWB, Cressy, Coufal
        Zaha*, Barnes, Sterling, Salah, Penandes
        BamBam, Tonio, BobbyDR

        I think

        GW23) Sterling ----> Son
GW24) Son, BobbyDR, Coufal ----> Gundo, DCL & Digne -4
        GW25) Barnes & DCL ----> Raphina & Ings -4

Something like that after a few wines seems sensible. GW26 could use BB or just go ham on transfers.

I think DGW24 is super overrated. Everyone has 3 City. Everton's fixtures practically equate to a SGW for their defense. There are other teams with better SGW fixtures for defenders. In attack DCL is the option and hence the only Everton player to have. Burnley's attraction is only defense but would you want to double up on that?

Already have triple city and double Everton. Burnley the only other team in considering either Holding to Lowton and/or Johnstone to Pope. Burnley could have a double in 26 as well

They found it tough to score against Leeds. Don't see them doing much against City. There are other mids in that GW who will get you more points.

Yes. But with Burnley there are no attacking options. And I don't think it's a team to trust with a defensive double up. Even if they will possibly have 2 DGWs

I suggest you look at the fixtures of other teams and set up a team with 2 Burnley and 2 City defenders. You will end up benching some serious players

But would you still take a chance and play 2 Burnely defenders? At the cost of not playing your City double up or playing 4 or 5 at the back and benching one or two attackers? On paper it looks good, but when you look at the games of other teams you will probably be benching some big points

I highly doubt people will go with 2 Burnley defenders. Its Pope and 1 def like Taylor or Lowton which can play alongside 2 city def for 3ATB

Will he score against City? Better strikers to have that GW. Antonio for example.

Spurs won't score two goals. No chance.

            Agree... For me

Guessing 2-1 Spurs home win to Chelsea.

            But
            Could easily be 1-0
            Or 2-0
            0-0
            1-1
            2-2
            Or
            3-2/2-3

            I suppose

GW24 - Holding to Lowton, Johnstone to Pope
        GW25 - Digne to Dallas

        1FT 6.7itb
        Martinez
        Cancelo Digne Cresswell
        Salah Bruno Gundo Raphinha Soucek
        Bamford Antonio
        (Johnstone DCL Stones Holding)

        Martinez
        Robertson Stones Cancelo
        Salah Fernandes Gundogan Raphinha
        DCL Bamford Antonio

        Forster Soucek Coufal Ferguson

        1 FT, 6.9 itb

        1. Ferguson >> AWB / Shaw (with BB26 in mind) play over Robbo
        2. Raphinha / Soucek >> Son
        3. Save FT (play Coufal over Robbo)

        Thanks guys

Lucky I just brought in Pope alongside Martinez. I also dropped Kane for Laca for 2 weeks, maybe should have waited on that as I could have punted on Jesus but ah well. Is Ings and Bamford enough for GW25?
