Euro 2012 – Daily Captain Polls

As of this afternoon, we’re rolling out Captain Polls on a daily basis ahead of tomorrow’s 5pm Group A kick-off between Poland and Greece.

With the McDonald’s Uefa game allowing us to change the armband every Matchday in each round of action, Fantasy managers will have plenty of tinkering and decisions to make as the games arrive thick and fast.

Our intention is to update the poll once the first game of each Matchday has kicked off. As usual, you will find the poll in the middle of the main page, with 15 protagonists per day to choose from.

    With his customary clumsiness, Per Mertesacker’s just suffered a minor ankle injury after colliding with Boateng in training. No indication yet of what the implications might be for the German line-up against Portugal.

    I wouldn’t read too much yet into Lars Bender playing at right-back for the first XI in Germany’s secret training session yesterday either.

    Hello,

    Does anyone have information on russian defender A.Berezutski?
    Haven’t seen him in any teams, but is 5.5 and at least zonalmarking has him in starting line up.

    He could save me much needed 0.5 and give me this beuty 😉

    Unfortunately I'm away over this first weekend of the Euros, so most likely won't be able to do the 'stick-or-twist' approach - so I will need to just pick one team/captain for the first round. Does this look right?

      Assuming you're gonna WC pre week2 and can't bring any subs in/changing your captain during GW1, then why have you left anything but "fillers" on the bench? i.e. you could probably afford RVP>Jelavic if you massively downgraded your bench with 3x 4.0 players

          That's better on the asusmption you can't get to a comp to bring in subs during GW1...for GW2, your FPL mindset (having deep squad spread across each of the match days for that gameweek) is the right one... read the rules for a better description 😛

    From previous post...

    Any thoughts on Casillas (7.0) with Given (4.5) as back up in nets? Seems a bit expensive given other options available…replacing with a 5.0 GK would free up some cash to bring in Blaszczykowski for Konoplyanka.

    Who should I bring in? Anyone else getting Spain defensive coverage in?

      Unconfirmed but looking increasingly likely that RvP starts. Word is, Dutch want to play a fluid to feet style that better suits RvP given his movement and that of Robben, Wesley, Afellay. Huntelaar relies too much on being fed, whereas RvP can be part of the creative process as well as score.

    Are any of the Russian midfielders worth getting in over Alonso (4.5m) in the Sun game? I don't really know much about them, but the choices seem to be

    a) Shirokov (4.0)
