Mendy and Azpilicueta benched as Chelsea host Brighton

Edouard Mendy (£5.2m) is one of several key Chelsea assets on the bench as they host Brighton in Double Gameweek 32.

Fresh from his appearance in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final, Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.7m) makes his first Premier League start since Gameweek 24.

There are changes in the back-three too as César Azpiliceuta (£5.9m) drops out for the first time since the Double Gameweek 19 defeat at Leicester.

Kurt Zouma (£5.3m), Antonio Rüdiger (£4.7m) and Andreas Christensen (£4.7m) form the defence tonight, the latter overcoming a yellow flag for a muscle injury to face Brighton.

Mason Mount (£7.2m) manages to avoid further rotation, after being rested twice across the last four Premier League matches.

Kai Havertz (£8.2m) takes up a false-nine role again tonight, with Timo Werner (£9.2m) named among the substitutes.

Christian Pulisic (£8.3m) and Hakim Ziyech (£7.9m) are either side of the German international.

Neal Maupay (£6.0m) is on the Brighton bench tonight with Leandro Trossard (£5.7m), Danny Welbeck (£5.5m) and Alexis Mac Allister (£5.3m) leading the attack.

It looks to be a back-three for the Seagulls too, featuring Adam Webster (£4.3m), Lewis Dunk (£4.9m) and Ben White (£4.5m) with Dan Burn (£4.2m) and Joël Veltman (£4.4m) acting as wing-backs.

Double Gameweek 32 Line-ups

Chelsea XI: Kepa; Rüdiger, Christensen, Zouma; Alonso, Mount, Jorginho, R James; Pulisic, Havertz, Ziyech.

Brighton and Hove Albion XI: Sánchez; Webster, Dunk, White; Burn, Bissouma, Groß, Veltman; Trossard, Welbeck, Mac Allister.

Kept Ben White in my team specifically for Sheffield next week as other players of mine blank and moving on another defender for TAA. So naturally he gets himself sent off tonight, great stuff.

Kepa 2 saves, Sanchez 4 saves. Kepa 3 bps, Sanchez 2 bps.

Sanchez makes twice the number of saves as Kepa and Kepa gets 3 bonus lol.

Rudiger clean sheet helps rescue the week a little!

Which is a bit of a flaw in the system, like how can a keeper fail to make a short pass lol

Yeah he was special at times, did the hard stuff well but messed up the basics.
I think a keeper successfully making a short pass should be given, so no reward in BPS unless they’re an outfield player.

Oh yeah... in full agreement regarding no baps for GK short passes.
Let’s start a petition. Hopefully it can go through in time to rescue Rudiger’s extra bonus point

But they need certain minimum number of passes which other keepers don't. Probably it's fair

True but keepers aren't just stoppers nowadays, need to be confident with the ball at their feet and able for quick restarts by kicking or throwing out the ball. Unfortunately technology has every factor analysed to the Nth degree even though it's bull$h1+

Had coffee with someone today who was there when he was sacked yesterday and he told me about what happened with Jose.

Basically he and Levy fell out massively- was on a collision course since Jan.
Levy wanted to control too much as with him, everything is down to money. Levy was constantly pressuring him to play Dele and Bergwein more as they had high transfer values and needed to be in shop window. Same with Bale, levy told him he’s not paying 200k per week for him to sit on the bench.

The bombshell was on Sunday where Levy ‘instructed him to play his strongest team v Southampton as there is still a chance we will get into top 4. Jose told him he wanted to save his best team for the final but Levy told him he doesn’t care about winning the Carabao, it’s all about top 4 as the club priority is top 4. Jose told him it sounds like he doesn’t need a coach anymore as he has it all worked out.

Final nail was Jose telling him this is why Spurs will never win anything because the club priority is in the wrong place and that he has built a fantastic business but will always have a poor football team.

Jose told Lucas there are things in his contract he cannot disclose but one day, when he writes his book, he will expose levy.

Jose told Kane he has to leave if he wants to win anything and fulfill his potential as best striker in world. Told Son to do the same. BUT he also told him Levy will be a total ass about it and will not make it easy at all.

ALL players were rejoicing yesterday apart from Moura, Vinicius and Hojberg who are genuinely saddened. Kane and Son stayed professional. Lloris, Winks and Dele led the celebrations and mood around the training was lifted and they welcomed Mason and Powell with open arms.

There you have it. In a nutshell, levy is the wrong within the club

Did he not think Bale should play more games? Fit enough for bench but nearly no game time.

Hasn't been given opportunities. Worse players than him, much worse, getting gametime. Needs games to get in to match fitness and form. Not sure if Mourinho didn't like him or being told by Levy that he'd have to play him.

Levy looked like the stuff of nightmares on All or Nothing - comes across like a bond villain , wouldn’t be suprised if he’s a genuine psychopath

Like looking into the cold, lifeless eyes of a shark

There's a theory that some sportspeople and top business people, high achievers, like Lance Armstrong are borderline narcisstic psychopaths. If they weren't in sport or business they'd fit the profile of a serial killer. An unfounded but interesting theory.

I'm selling unless I know he's guaranteed a start in GW33. Forster misses out and no point selling him if Mendy will be rotated.
