Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout can now get their own Transfer Planner to help with their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) preparations for the 2021/22 season.

In a laboratory nestled deep under Scout Towers for the last few months, our very own Az has been joined by Rob and James, the brains behind the Championship Manager FPL game, in concocting a Transfer Planner exclusively for Fantasy Football Scout subscribers.

FPL pre-season: Trossard hits hat-trick from wing-back role 1

The Planner allows you to enter your FPL team as it currently is and then to set to work on what you would like it to become over the next few weeks, taking account of transfers, captaincies, chips and formation preferences.

The road ahead is kept up to date for you via a link to the Fantasy Football Scout Season Ticker and, if you think we’ve been a little too harsh on the Burnley attack or not given the Southampton defence enough credit, you can tweak the ratings to your satisfaction (or wildest dreams, as appropriate).

HOW TO USE IT

To get started, you fill in your player selections in the dropdown at the top of each player box on the Planner tab. Typing in the first few letters of a player name, or even “4.5” or “MUN” brings up a relevant shortlist to choose from.

Those same dropdown boxes are used to select your potential transfer targets in the columns for coming Gameweeks and your proposed starting XIs are indicated by tick boxes. Your transfer plans will be neatly summarised via In and Out sections at the foot of each Gameweek column.

If you want to narrow your focus to the next couple of unusual Gameweeks or jump ahead to consider the consequences of a hit there are “+” and “-” options for hiding and re-showing columns at the top of the Planner and Fixture Ticker tabs.

If your chosen FPL device doesn’t have an attached keyboard then downloading Google’s “Sheets” tab provides full functionality for mobiles and tablets.

HOW TO GET ONE

You’ll need to be an FFS Member to request your Transfer Planner. A link to the request form is available at the left-hand side of the Premium Members area. Fill that out and your sheet will be on its way, though please be patient during this initial release as each one must currently be despatched manually.

Once your Transfer Planner arrives, it may take 20-30 seconds to load when you first use it. The Transfer Planner needs an internet connection to stay active and may sometimes need to be refreshed to re-establish the link.

We genuinely think we’ve created something that’s simple, clean and that Fantasy managers will really benefit from using. Fill in the form now to start sorting your Jotas from your Willocks and paving the way for that pre-planned early Wildcard.

Struggling to decide between Ings and Bamford, undoubtedly Ings has three outstanding fixtures to start the season but from GW5 onwards Leeds standout as a team to target for attacking output.

I'm seeing a lot people going for Brentford assets thinking as a promoted team they'll be like Bamford & co last season or Pukki the season before.

There's a big difference though, Leeds and Norwich were the winners of the Championship when they came up Brentford won the play-off.

Play-off winners have a poor record in the Premier league generally.
Look at Fulham last season as a better comparison than Leeds last season or Norwich the season before.

Nah it’s not so basic. Brentford are a class act. I’m going enjoy all the juicy points. Here’s hoping the top single season goal scorer in Championship history doesn’t come back to bite too hard.

From the perspective of trying to project how a 41 championship-goal-involvement striker will fare in the premier league - its not generically a good start that's important though - its just specifically goals scored, and goal involvements

Several of the playoff winners’ historical starts would have been pretty reasonable for FPL purposes in terms of capitalising on goals scored and goal involvements through early adrenaline

      - Norwich 15/16 - scored 8 goals/16 goal involvements* in their first 5 games (Scored 39 for the season)
      - Hull 16/17 - scored 6 goals/12 goal involvements in their first 5 games (Scored 37 for the season)
      - Huddersfield 17/18 - scored 5 goals/10 goal involvements in their first 5 games (Scored 28 for the season)
      - Fulham 18/19 - scored 7 goals/14 goal involvements in their first 5 games (Scored 34 for the season)
      - Villa 19/20 - scored 5 goals/10 goal involvements in their first 5 games (Scored 41 for the season)
      - Fulham - Mitro got 4 returns in his first 6 starts & his season was destroyed by injury (big factor in them only scoring 27 for the season)

And (crucially) none of these teams had a striker who did what Toney has done with his 41 goal involvements - Glenn Murray was the closest with 30 goals scored in Palace's playoff promotion season - but unfortunately he ruptured his cruicate in the playoff final and couldn't play the following season - this unquestionably factored into Palace's bad start in 13/14

The important thing is - we don't even necessarily need Brentford to stay up for Toney to be a good asset - we just need them to score 35-40 goals - the more the better - preferably with at least 7-8 of those coming in the first 5 gameweeks (where he plays 4 of last season's bottom half clubs before a tough fixture run in GW6-9)

*I'm assuming 1 goal = 2 goal involvements here for estimation purposes - some goals may have no assist & O.G's etc - but they should be the exception rather than the rule

Always like taking one punt. With the quote from Alli below think it might just be him.

“The only person I blame is myself. I should be performing at a level where it is difficult to not put me in the team or not play me. I don’t blame anyone but myself.”

“I want to make this year one of the best I have had,” he went on to say. “A lot of people have said I need to find the form I was in a few years ago. For me, I don’t even want to get to that, I want to go past that and reach my full potential to be the best player I can be.

“It has been a tough few years but I have been working hard and analysing what I need to do to get better.”

the FFS community makes up but a mere fraction of FPL

the vast majority of players are the ones who will pinged by their colleagues today to enter into their work leagues and they will basically pick the England team + players they have heard of such as Pogba

I've ran a couple of drafts, one with more premium players and this with a more balanced side and strong bench. I hate having bench fodder, in the past it's shafted me when I have had players benched or needed to make a transfer and have no funds to do so. Anyway, thoughts on this side and thoughts on the lack of premiums, Salah and I guess VVD aside:

    Martinez - Sanchez

    Shaw - Stones - VVD - Coufal - Tsimikas

    Barnes - Salah (c) - Grealish - Greenwood - Saka

    Ings - Antonio - Toney

I foresee disaster with that. Jota/Greenwood/Mahrez are all subject to rotation, and with 2 extremely short-lived 4m defenders in your squad you could be royally bu99ered two or three GWs down the line.
