Benrahma. You can also look at Leeds midfielder or Sarr if not interested in doubling up.

I'm sort of struggling to see United's best 11 with Ronaldo. Will he play through the middle? Off the Left? Where does Rashford fit in?

    1. Jafooli
      • 12 Years

      I would play:

      Ronnie - Greenwood/Cavani - Sancho/Greenwood

            Ronnie - Cavani/Greenwood - Sancho/Greenwood
            Bruno
            Pogba

            Sell Martial, Rashy on bench

WC team I’m very nearly happy with.

    Schmeichel [Ward]
    Ayling TAA Duffy [Livramento, Coady]
    Raphinha Salah Pogba Ben [Gilmour]
    Antonio Kane (C) Calvert-Lewin

    1. Where to put the additional 0.7 (Webster?)
    2. Any better options than Coady at 4.5//5.0

    1. RogDog_jimmy
      • 3 Years
      2 years, 7 months ago

What about Leicester so far makes you think Schmiechel is a good idea?

Otherwise good enough. Pogba could become a few different folks around the 7.5-8.0 range - not my choice but I like that price slot.

I’d save that money for future use. Or go for an attacking Wolves defender at 5.0 maybe.

      1. ZTF
        • 9 Years
        2 years, 7 months ago

        Cheers.

With Schmeichel - top keeper, lots of saves, NOR/BHA/BUR/CRY in next 5.

Also I don’t think leicester have been good but not particularly bad either. Tiny sample size wrecked by a red card on Monday.

Fair enough then. Maybe if they get their defense all back it’ll help, think I’d be on Meslier for a WC myself.

Or Sa - depends on the next couple to see how they hold up.

      I would not.
Spurs have scored two 1-0 wins so far and allowed a whole bunch of shots. Not sure I’d be taking a hit to triple up on them.

      1. devoncop

True but without Kane they have played City and a pretty impressive Wolves and today they play a much less impressive Watford with Kane.....

As others are saying, tripling is showing a heck of a lot of faith in Spurs after last week's poor show. Taking one or even two on frees is reasonable, but with a hit to compound the pain? Not for me.

12.5 would make sense, anything more will just make him a no-go for me. I'm not going to pay 1.5m extra for him over Luka or 3m extra over Son.

Yup, same price as Kane, and as a forward.
What I'm thinking is, Kane will play every PL game, whilst CR7 and Lukaku will be rotated around CL matches. Makes for tricky decision-making.

I get he played a lot for Juve but MU have a deeper squad than they did, and he’s another year older.
I think he plays pretty regularly, but also not expecting consistency in the league come the serious end of the CL. That’s a problem for later though.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. Been looking at what others are doing in a similar position over the last few day's, but the general consensus is to save the ft. Will be in a stronger position with 2ft's for sure. Cheers

I always look at a transfer being worth 4 points (unless you have 2FTs and thus you have to make a trade).

Depends on your team. If you want ronaldo you should be able to get him in 2 moves. Lukaku's fixtures still not great and Liverpool still have easy games coming up. GW7 or 8 still look better to me but if you're not happy with your current team then it's a possibility. If you do decide to WC best to hit the button ASAP so you can catch the price rises during the IB

    Wildcard-team

    Sanchez

    TAA - Reguilón - Duffy

    Salah - Son - Raphinha - Benrahma

    Kane (VC) - Antonio (C) - Jiménez

    0.3 in the bank

    GTG? Anything that can improve?

Next week my transfer plan is Ronaldo in for Kane.

The only question I would ask is how do you plan on getting Lukaku? gw7 he seems a must.
Son? But you would need to find 1.5.

Yes, Son will be downgraded to a 6 million mid and Jimi to Lukaku in gw 7, that's the plan.

Do you think that could work long-term or do I've unbalanced the team to much?

I'm looking at Traoré, Harrison, Sarr, Smith-Rowe and Mbeumo. If Torres nails a starting place in that City-team a 7.0 OOP mid must be taken seriously. But we don't know that yet.

Do you looking at someone I didn't mention?

Me too. But I try to earn a little money on Reguillon short-term. I need that in the long-run to upgrade one of my three 4.0 defenders.

If you really want to squeeze in 3 super-premiums (which I'm not sure is a good idea) then you need a different structure really. A 4-3-3 (hybrid 3-4-3) would probably suit best.

      4.5 4.0
      Coufal VVD Shaw 4.5 4.5
      Salah Harrison Benrahma 4.5 4.5
      Kane/CR7 Lukaku Antonio

Something like that. Essentially your 4.5m defenders (maybe Dier & White) rotate as 4th defender but you always have the option to use a 4.5m midfielder and play 3-4-3 if both cheap defenders have bad fixtures.

If you really want TAA you could take 4.0 4.0 for 4th and 5th defender (maybe Duffy/Livramento, they rotate OK) but the more you force it the less options you will have when things go wrong (and they will).

One problem with any structure that squeezes in 3 super-premiums is the inflexibility it causes throughout the rest of your squad. Another is that you are cutting yourself off from the 7.5m-8m bracket where a lot of the best value is. You can only captain one player per week, do you really need three to choose between?

        • 10 Years

        Yep totally agree.
I’ve gone 4-3-3 with 2 premiums. The plan is to keep one premium slot in midfield and one up front.
I’m big at the back and plan not to use many transfers there.
Salah,Raphinia, Benrahma,4.5,4.5 looks inflexible in midfield but I have money itb and DCL that can be moved to Mount at any time with 2 FT’s.

Having 3 your kind of stuck with the structure unless you take hits.

          That's interesting.

            Meslier
            TAA,Shaw,James,Coufal
            Salah,Raphinia,Benrahma
            Kane(c)DCL,Antonio

            4.0,Livramento,Gilmour,Bissouma

            1.5m itb.
TAA,DCL and Antonio are my players in that mid range.

              Yeah, that's nice.

I think James is a bit risky but maybe the potential when he starts is sufficient to balance the benchings? I'd go for Rüdiger myself because with a structure like that I'd want a sure starter.

Did you consider DDG as GK if you are paying 5m?

Yes. Unless he plays badly I think he's 1st choice this season.

Dias was who I was thinking of as well, really you don't need a Chelsea defender till GW7 and I suspect Chilwell will be the one you want by then.

        What an legendary answer! Wow.

This is what I can afford:

3-4-3 with Salah Son and Kane/CR7

        4.5 4.0

        TAA 5.0 Duff (Livramento Williams)

        Salah Son Raphinha Benrahma (Bissouma)

        Kane/CR7 (if 12.5) Antonio Jiménez

3-4-3 with Salah Kane/CR7 and Lukaku

        4.5 4.0

        TAA 5.0 Duff (Livramento Williams)

        Salah Harrison/Sarr/Traoré Raphinha Benrahma (Bissouma)

        Kane/CR7 Lukaku Antonio

A agree, there is much value in 7.5m - 8m bracket. Seems also be nice value in 6m mids.

There is a lot of talk about rotating transfers between big hitters. But really this is the last place you want to spend your transfers - you want to stick with players who guarantee you 250+ points, and you transfers to jump on and off value assets based
    on form/fixtures.

    1. Andy_Social
      • 11 Years

Trouble is, they will all end up with huge totals. Bigger issue for me is galacticos often save their best for the big games and are rested against lesser opposition.

True that, I dont really like to change premium players every other week but looks like we might have to switch between them in 5-6 GWs to cover all bases.

Still, I dont want to think much about this at the moment. 2nd IB is probably a good time to assess this situation when things are more settled.

The other issue is that with value increases it is not so simple to mix and match. You could easily be priced out of switches over time and then you need to downgrade other parts of your team to keep on with the strategy
