Scout Picks

FPL Gameweek 7 Scout Picks built on Chelsea triple-up

There’s not a Liverpool or Manchester City player in sight in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Scout Picks for Gameweek 7.

A Chelsea triple-up instead forms the spine of the side this week, with eight other teams represented in the remaining spots.

After Sam, Az, Neale and Tom submitted their Scout Squad selections earlier this week, we have chosen our best players ahead of tomorrow’s 11:00 BST deadline.

We line up in a 3-4-3 formation and come in at £81.9m, well under our £83.0m budget.

GOALKEEPER

The best goalkeepers for UEFA Champions League Fantasy

With 17 clean sheets in 25 Premier League matches since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel in January, Edouard Mendy (£6.0m) is the first of two Chelsea backline options in this week’s Scout Picks. The Blues’ stopper has kept three clean sheets in five games so far this season, and is the fourth-highest scoring goalkeeper in FPL despite missing a week. His numbers are impressive, too, given that his 3.45 saves per 90 minutes ranks fifth – only behind Karl Darlow (£4.5m), Illan Meslier (£5.0m), Ben Foster (£4.0m) and Hugo Lloris (£5.6m) – while his 5.5 minutes-per-baseline-bonus (BBPS) is also encouraging, and suggests that he could be in the mix when Chelsea do keep a clean sheet. Against a Southampton side that is goalless in three matches, Mendy’s inclusion makes a lot of sense.

    Best option on WC?

    1. Sarr and Jiminez
    2. Son and A.Armstrong
    3. Doucoure/Gray/Gallagher and Vardy.

Sarr only has one good fixture before they turn. I'd probably go for 3 with Gallagher

      Saka and Jimi instead?

I’d want Saka, Mbuemo and Raphinha as my budget mids if I was on wildcard

    Sanchez
    TAA - James - Coady - B.Williams - Livramento
    Salah - Jota - Greenwood - Sarr - Sissoko
    Antonio - Ronaldo - Dennis

1FT, 2.5 ITB. Tempted to do TAA, Jota, Dennis -> Rudiger, Smith-Rowe, Lukaku for -8 (WC burned)
Is this madness? Could just do TAA to rudi, or even hold FT and play coady, williams, livra and also handle inevitable jota benching...
I feel like missing on Chelsea players in the coming weeks might be too risky.

First WC draft... How's it looking? no United as I feel their fixtures are pretty tough. Would love Ronaldo but it does mess up the solidity of this one.

    Sanchez
    Cancelo, Rudiger, Cresswell
    Salah, Raphinha, Benhrama, Sarr
    Vardy, Lukaku, Antonio

    Foster, Bissouma, White, Tsmikas

I know Vardy has done well but not sure I like him for his price. Would prefer a son or even city mid instead. Toney over Vardy and son for benrahma?

There are no real challengers for his spot in the City squad. Mendy will be in the naughty corner for quite some time so Cancelo will start every match unless Pep loses his screws and decides to convert Grealish or Foden into attacking fullbacks.

I won't bore everyone with a WC draft but I do have two quick questions.

    A. Is it worth going Benrahma and then moving to Mbuemo down the line or just go with Mbuemo from the offset? (I'll be playing 4-3-3 for the next few weeks at least, except for this week which will be 3-4-3)

    B. Other wildcarders, are you keeping TAA? The decision would be easier if City had a better fixture this week

    1. ZeBestee
      • 9 Years
      2 years, 5 months ago

Benrahma played the entire 90 yesterday. While he scored, doesnt that concern you a bit. Mbuemo is interesting but he looks like he is not a clinical.player hence may disappoint you. Will still go Mbuemo over Benrahma if u want the former down the line.

One thing which is talked far less is the fact that Leicester have been hugely affected by injuries and have been conceding a lot lately. Concede 2 against the underwhelming Burnley attack and lost yesterday in the EL as well. Gallagher or even Zaha could be a decent option with Lei, Ars and New next.
