FPL Gameweek 7 Scout Picks built on Chelsea triple-up

There’s not a Liverpool or Manchester City player in sight in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Scout Picks for Gameweek 7.

A Chelsea triple-up instead forms the spine of the side this week, with eight other teams represented in the remaining spots.

After Sam, Az, Neale and Tom submitted their Scout Squad selections earlier this week, we have chosen our best players ahead of tomorrow’s 11:00 BST deadline.

We line up in a 3-4-3 formation and come in at £81.9m, well under our £83.0m budget.

GOALKEEPER

The best goalkeepers for UEFA Champions League Fantasy

With 17 clean sheets in 25 Premier League matches since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel in January, Edouard Mendy (£6.0m) is the first of two Chelsea backline options in this week’s Scout Picks. The Blues’ stopper has kept three clean sheets in five games so far this season, and is the fourth-highest scoring goalkeeper in FPL despite missing a week. His numbers are impressive, too, given that his 3.45 saves per 90 minutes ranks fifth – only behind Karl Darlow (£4.5m), Illan Meslier (£5.0m), Ben Foster (£4.0m) and Hugo Lloris (£5.6m) – while his 5.5 minutes-per-baseline-bonus (BBPS) is also encouraging, and suggests that he could be in the mix when Chelsea do keep a clean sheet. Against a Southampton side that is goalless in three matches, Mendy’s inclusion makes a lot of sense.

        Thanks mate you’re probably right.

Raphinha? Or is he gonna have to quarantine?

Or a nice Mount punt after Tuchel’s comments?

He's missed 2 pretty much open goals in the last 3 weeks. I love him but he hasn't made that place his own! Then Bobby comes back and scores 2 in 20 mins midweek. Add the fact we play City, Jurgen needs Firminos pressing for the game. I love liverpool and watch every game, I can guarantee Jota doesnt start

He hasn’t performed well for weeks and he’s due a dropping

Ole will reward Lingard against Everton for sure, he’s that type of manager.

          Sancho and Cavani also options

I think he does. Lingard has presented Ole with a problem though. But Lingard has a bit more to do to be inserted in the starting XI imo.

    Duffy - Digne - Rüdiger
    Salah - Jota - Gray - Sarr - Greenwood

Ronnie or Antonio. Everton got ripped apart by Villa a few weeks ago let's not forget. But, Brentford like to attack no matter what so space available for Antonio to wreck up on them.

Lukaku over Antonio based on law of averages that he is due a goal whilst Antonio is due a blank!

    Potential WC

    Sanchez / Foster
Rudiger / Dias / Semado / Lowton / Other up to 5.2 (Maybe Tomiyasu?)
    Salah / Raphina / Greenwood / Mount / Gray
    Lukaku / Antonio / Wood

I have value in Gray (5.8 but only sell for 5.6). Is it better to keep Sarr?

I did have Marcel but this site seems to suggest hes in danger of being dropped.

Is Mount definitely back this week?
Could keep Alonso and have a 6.8 midfielder instead of mount?

I think your problem is you've got Jota who might be benched, TAA and Bamford out, Traore might not start, and even Christensen not 100% nailed (think he will start though) so potentially 5 not playing/starting - you got wild card?

2.6 ITB - I'm a little wary of moving Traore on with a decent fixture. Bam or TAA out a decent shout?

            1. FOO FIGHTER
              • 4 Years

Traore is toast. I doubt he will start. Even if he does, he is all show and no action.

He is your weakest. Double up on Wolves attack is also the worst thing you can attempt when they have scored 2 goals in the EPL this whole season.

TAA will be back GW8. You have also held onto Bamford this long and should be back GW8 as well.

The only player worth getting rid of for a hit in your squad is Traore tbf.

    2. Dammit_182
      • 3 Years
      2 years, 5 months ago

I had Bamford and TAA and was poised to do switch to Cash and Vardy. But keeping faith with TAA being ready for Watford and swopped out Bamford and Grey for Jimenez and Raphinia.

Antonio is the obvious swop for Bamford if you can make it and I personally would not take out Traore before Newcastle at home.

You could do TAA to cancello, Bamford to Antonio, play Traore for one more week and sort him out after international break if you need to. Duffy isn’t bad as first sub so if anyone else doesn’t start your all good.

Good luck - your team has the same issues I had!

My worry is that sarr will get another haul against Leeds who are poor defensively while Arsenal may struggle at Brighton. My plan is to bring Saka in for sarr next week. Think it can wait or should I just do it now?

    2. Gunneryank
      • 2 Years

I would. Sarr has a poor run of fixtures coming. Might be a poor WC choice. Saka is cheap and may tick along for a few weeks where you won't have to worry.

I have Sarr for his good fixtures, but he is about to get moved...

Definitely not. He's been great so far even while Leicester have been poor. Many of my drafts had him but got scared of Ronaldo and bottled it.

I love the front 3. Vardy is a beast and am gutted I got Lukaku instead of him 2 weeks ago.

Thanks! He’s looked brilliant so far this season, I’m just surprised not to see him in hardly any WC teams. Figured I must be overlooking something.

      How much is that team?

After much head scratching , landed on a pretty strong wildcard team:

    Ramsdale, Foster
Christensen , Rudiger, Cancelo, White , Manquillo
Salah, Son , Saka , Raphinha , Allan
    Jimenez , Antonio , Lukaku

Can just afford it after the Alonso rise tonight as I’ll sell him.

Tempted to go Wood this week and upgrade to Jimenez next week since he’s playing Norwich this week .

    Thoughts ?

Super close to mine - I'm leaning away from double Chelsea defense - I like the idea of Mount/Pulisic.

    Almost completed my WC team. a few outstanding thoughts;

    Ramsdale, Foster
Cancelo, Christensen, Livramento, 2x defs option
Salah, Benrahma, Raphinha, 4.5. 1x mid option
    Lukaku, Antonio, Jimenez

    a/ Dias, White, Son
    b/ Laporte, Semedo, Son
    c/ Rudiger, Semedo, Son
    d/ Laporte, Alexander-Arnold, Mount

I'm partial to not doubling up Chelsea defenders - and allowing Mount/Pulisic in the future if not now.
I'd prefer to double up City defenders and have room for one of Grealish/Foden/KDB

Friends, bottomed, but I could really use some help here. Let me try and make it less demanding; go as is, take a hit or WC?

    Meslier
    Rüdiger, Marçal, Livramento
    Salah, Jota, Torres, Raphinha, Benrahma
    Ronaldo, Antonio

    No bench with TAA out.

That Jota-Torres-Livra-Meslier axis is begging for OR trouble this GW, so I'd WC this (hold TAA) and then take a hit in GW8 instead to spread the CR7 funds to City players

Thanks, mate, If I may: wouldn't it be wiser to just take it on the chin and WC after the break, long-term wise?

There are more players to change in your team in GW7 than in GW8. WC8 is basically two/three City players with CR7 funds. WC7 fixes this week and only needs -4 or -8 (unlikely) next week, taking the best of both weeks

I mean, if I try to fix this with hits in GW7, I might approach -12

Defence consists of White, Shaw, Trent, Ayling and Tsimikas. I have 1ft and 1.2m itb. Thinking of doing Ayling to Rudiger as have exact funds. Good choice or should I consider other options. Would still have to sweat on Shaw but don't think it's worth a -4 to remove him.

    Sanchez
    Shaw Rudiger White
    Benrahma Salah Sarr Raphinha Grealish
    Antonio Ronaldo

    Steele Tsimikas TAA Obafemi

Not decide on captain yet but prob be Ronaldo or Antonio. GTG?
