FPL Double Gameweeks: What we know and what is still to be confirmed

**Last updated: Saturday 3 May**

There are just three more Gameweeks of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) remaining, two of which are ‘doubles’.

With City’s fixture against Wolves dropping earlier than some had predicted, Double Gameweek 36 is the bigger by some margin with 12 teams enjoying a brace of matches, versus just five in Gameweek 37.

There’s just one blank remaining, with Manchester United the only team not to feature in Gameweek 37.

VISUAL OVERVIEW OF THE FINAL SCHEDULE

TEAMS WITH THE MOST FIXTURES REMAINING (GAMEWEEK 36 ONWARDS)

In-form Robertson an appealing FPL differential for Gameweek 23 and beyond 1

Is this team enough of a mess to use the 2nd WC this GW when the doubles are announced or is it better to save for DGWs later in the season? Still have both FH, BB and TC chips as well.

Hwang and Mbeumo only real issues , get King and Maddison?

I was going to do Mbuemo > Maddison but haven't had news on his injury yet? Hwang > King is also a good shout thanks. I would like to offload McArthur as well as he's been burning a hole in my bench for months. Would like to replace Bilva, James as well but I suppose these aren't too pressing for the time being.

I'd WC that team, but somehow you already have some potential DGWer in 21 like DDG,Ron,Ant, McArthur (if fit). So I'd also consider taking hits to remove Hwang, Mbeumo and Bilva, and replace them with Bowen, Lei/Eve mid and Broja/Eduoard. Tough choice, good luck!

My thinking as well of going with FTs and potentially some hits to replace Hwang/Mbuemo/Bilva by 22. Any news on the McArthur injury? Still saying unknown return on PL site so wasn't expecting him back any time soon.

Gallagher, Rudiger > Raphina, Reguillon for -4?

Can’t upgrade Gallagher without a hit unfortunately and also keen to get off double Chelsea defence finally

Just a bit worried that Gallagher is going to be out of training etc and therefore won’t jump straight back into the starting 11

Yeah, could be just rumours about Raph, but don’t think the upside is worth the risk. Obviously things change a bit if Gallagher (who I also have) is ruled out and you’re at risk of not getting 11 out

Typo which wasn’t picked up by the editors I’m guessing.

Journalistic quality is decreasing across the board I feel, as the Media re-adjusts to a new paradigm and tries in vain to compete with user-led media.

The amount of mistakes I see in Manchester Evening News and even the Guardian is astounding to me

I haven’t checked a price change website in soooo long. This season in particular, I just couldn’t care less about people dropping or going up in price as it’s suicide to make early transfers.

And yet, I noticed Bowen has gone up in price last night.

The GW hasn’t even finished yet, and plenty of days before the next deadline.
What’s the strategy here for people making early transfers? Do they know that you don’t get to ‘cash in’ the money at the end of the season? Do they know there’s no prizes for highest team value?

It seems to be an obsession for some players of the game. There are those who post pretty much daily on the 'Price Changes' HTs with how many risers and fallers they have in their squad. Each to their own, but I just don't get it.

It's crazy, 9 price increases last night.. 12 decreases. In the middle of the gw with games being called off all the time.

As yesterday was the start of a gameweek, the price rise could also take into account transfers made before the deadline and not just early transfers for the upcoming gameweek

Well the GW only started yesterday so many of the price changes could have been driven by pre-deadline activity. Have stopped checking fplstats also since Covid cancellations began

A lot of the volume was in the morning before the deadline.

But I do think the threshold for increase could be higher. Feels like knee-jerkers impact the game negatively for the rest of us.

I’ve made all but one of my moves this season either on the day of the deadline or the day before. I still enjoy the fact my team value is relatively strong, though I’m not chasing improving it.

Just see him as an impact sub when most are fit - should get gametime next few weeks mind with Watkins wide though as missing loads of wide players - El Ghazi not favoured, Traore/Trez AFCON, Bailey injured and Beundia not been setting the world alight.

Ings/Watkins partnership miles away from clicking though

Could see Ings leaving in summer tbh

The only option I can see for a Man Utd dgw would to be to play it on Thu 06/01. Not sure if that’s an option. That’s 8 days out now, so would need to be announced tonight/tomorrow to be practical. Even then, it’s last minute.

example Burnley vs Everton moves to GW22 and Burnley have a DGW. We stock up on Burnley players. Burnley vs Huddersfield in FA cupis postponed at last minute and Burnley vs Everton is off again leaving us little wriggle room as the GW21 deadline has passed and we already made plans for Burnley players.

Itchy to WC (2nd one), is it worth it for this team? Happy to take -8 or -12 for DGW players btw ...

    Lloris (Ramsdale)
    TAA Cancelo James Dalot (Tsimikas)
    Jota Foden Bernardo (ESR Martinelli)
    Antonio Watkins Ronaldo

Plan is Bernardo + ESR > DGW players ... once announced 😛

Looks very similar to a lot of teams around here.

Not worth a WC unless we get some big announcements regarding upcoming DGW’s.

That's what I feel it's a decent side but somehow slipping the rank from 160K to 300K in two weeks with all these postponements and stuffs ... ah well need patient probably

Don’t wildcard until dust settles after GW24. Covid weather settling after Winter peak. Chelsea back from WCC and then when you wildcard load up on the teams who have the least games played. Can plan for a strong 14 GW finish with a good wildcard then.

Good advice ... previous season I used the WC early to correct many things and it worked well. Not sure with that team I need massive correction? Just not able to plan is the problem this time.

Lowton. Four games in hand. Put funds elsewhere. If not then Eric Dier and funds leftover. If you want a premium pick go with Robertson. Pool will become more defensively focused with Salah/Mane out for Afcon. Full backs will still be an outlet though.

Always rumours. Tbh I think Pep gives certain players time off training as they don’t need it. There was an article on how KDB does minimal team training so as to be fresh for games. Same could be said for Cancelo really.

      Foden - Jota - Bilva - Bowen
      …CR7 - Antonio - Broja

Subs: Alonso - ESR - Liv
      1FT & 1.7itb

I think bench order is correct.

Not confident in Bilva going forward so maybe think about moving him on with FT.

I would probably captain Ronaldo. Could have DGW which would make it an obvious move.

      Ramsdale/DDG
      Dias/Cancelo/Trent/James/Reguilon
      Jota/Son/Bowen/Bilva/ESR
      Watkins/Antonio/Hwang

Thinking 1st FH in 21 and then hits for 22. Do you think this is optimal approach for this squad, if not what would you do?

I really can't say what's optimal in terms of FH use when the fixtures haven't been announced yet. But on first glance, I don't think you need to FH that team for 21. Maybe ESR and Hwang out for the likes of King/Broja and mid of choice.

Imagine that score with a 50pt average!

Hoping Foden starts as my captain but possibly not, Laporte could be rotated with Ake but CB's are normally rotated less so I'd say both will start but it's Pep roulette

Only 4 here (Dalot, DDG, Laporte, Cancelo). Need Manchester CS's and Chelsea to concede or my arrow will be red!
