Who are the best FPL captain options for Double Gameweek 25?

Bruno Fernandes (£11.7m) and Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m) have emerged as the two outstanding candidates for the Double Gameweek 25 captaincy, with Manchester United preparing to take on Southampton and Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

The question for many is how to choose between them and, of course, are there any single Gameweek options we must make sure we do not overlook.

First, we will assess the fallout of the Double Gameweek 25 captain poll, before then analysing the best options, Rate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings ahead of Saturday’s 11:00 GMT deadline.

THE CAPTAIN POLL

Bruno Fernandes is the leader of the captain poll in Double Gameweek 25, with 39.88% of total votes from our users at the time of writing.

Meanwhile, team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is in second place, backed by 20.7%. The forward got his rest against Burnley in Gameweek 24, though further minute management can’t be completely ruled out, which we’ll discuss below.

Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) occupies third place with 12.09%, followed by Kevin De Bruyne (£12.2m) and David de Gea (£5.3m), with 7.79% and 7.33% respectively.

      I have exactly the same choice as you. So many people have De Gea and by getting Varane that covers him, and he's been looking dangerous in the box lately. Laporte on the other hand is almost guaranteed a cs, if he starts (could we see some rotation not just days before ucl?)

      Swaing against Varane. Could Shaw be a better option tho?

        I agree with their form and would love to ditch watkins this gw but weghorst vs liv is exactly enticing.
        Currently starting watkins purely due to AVL form being better than Wat, but needed to know if I was overlooking something.
        planning a -4 and swapping KDB+Ederson (have ddg) for Bruno+Pope so a -8 would be needed andI dont fancy it , though broja is highly tempting also

      Given your current setup (3-5-2), I'd take a guess that White comes in for Coufal for dgw26 , in which case Im further taking a guess that Digne is benched for dgw26 so I'd say then that C would be the way to go and go coutinho unless ofc you feel the extra funds from getting Ramsey might be needed.

    martinelli has created the biggest tinker ive had since gw1,i had all my plans and it turned to shite ,so many options its great fun ,trying to save chips ,getting dgwk players for 26,injuries ,players not quite nailed,it has been truly epic,finished up -4 bachmann,bilva,pukki to pope,ramsey,weghorst and next week will be bruno,antonio to saka,kane -4 ,all chips still intact which has been the bottom line
