Stevie of EyeTestFPL casts the spotlight on more Fantasy Premier League (FPL) options that caught his attention in Gameweek 27, using ‘eye test’ screenshots and information from our Premium Members Area.

Newcastle United are the only team to have back-to-back doubles in Gameweeks 28 and 29, as well as a potential fixture in Blank Gameweek 30, which makes their assets worthy of consideration.

It’s not just the quantity of fixtures for the Magpies, however. Eddie Howe’s side are in excellent form right now, having gone the last seven league matches unbeaten.

Here are some Newcastle players that have caught my eye recently and, in particular, in Gameweek 27.

Ryan Fraser (£5.3m)

Joe Willock (£5.7m) may be getting the limelight with his goals recently, but Ryan Fraser (£5.3m) cannot be overlooked either with his creativity.

Fraser tends to operate in the wider areas where his crossing ability will be best utilised.

The former Bournemouth man seems to thrive on the bigger spaces provided for him in these wider positions, delivering cross after cross from the flank. His assist for Joelinton’s (£5.8m) towering header on Saturday came in this exact manner after he was given time and space out wide.

Fraser’s vision to spot Chris Wood’s (£6.8m) movement towards the far post was excellent, but what was even more striking was his ability to create space for himself before delivering the cross. Whether he makes a little dummy or a shift of weight to his favourite left foot, he knows how to create room for himself.

Over the last four Gameweeks, Fraser has attempted 27 crosses (the fifth highest among midfielders) at an incredible accuracy of 44.4% and he has created a total of nine chances (the seventh highest among midfielders).

Fraser has some goal threat in him as well, occasionally drifting into decent positions inside the box.

Above: Ryan Fraser’s heatmap in Gameweek 27

However, due to his wider positioning, Fraser will mostly be relied upon for his chance creation.

With big, physical players such as Wood and Joelinton providing a target for his delivery, Fraser is getting closer to his creative best in his Bournemouth days.

One thing that I really need to mention is that Fraser has been operating down the left flank only during Allan Saint-Maximin‘s (£6.8m) absence, so his creativity could take a bit of a hit if and when the Frenchman returns and he is shifted over to the right.

During his six-match run on the opposite flank from Gameweeks 19-26, he carved out only five chances – two fewer than he managed at Brentford alone.

Still, Fraser’s display on the left may have given his manager plenty of food for thought even when Saint-Maximin returns.

Joe Willock (£5.7m)

Still have both FHs and WC. I know that it's not a great idea to load up on DGW players when the teams playing twice aren't the best but isn't that the best time to use FH?

    A - Play first FH
    B - WC
C - Use FT to do DDG > Sa

    DDG
    Coady - Cancelo - TAA
    KDB - Bowen - Salah - Saka - JWP
    Broja - Dennis

    Bachman - Dier - Weghorst - Lamptey

Wouldn't bother with a city midfielder personally. Too much rotation risk and better to target the doubles.

Hard to say especially with Grealish & Jesus back, the rotation headache will be mental.

None. You prob cant afford KDB, and with Jesus & Grealish back its getting a bit tricky to nail down a starter. Lots of doublers to choose from instead

I bought Mahrez. In form, on penalties, almost guaranteed returns when he starts.

He can be rotated, so a fallback bench player is necessary.

      Team dependent really.

Some people took hits last week to field as many as possible with the plan to WC this week.

Others WC 2 weeks ago in prep for 28/29/30.

Just depends how your team looks now and how you can maximise returns over the next 3 GWS.

Sounds like they wanted to ease him back into the team but were forced to play him for much longer than was ideal. Not really sure what that means for him in the next couple of games though.

Rudiger is 100% the safer option but longer term I think James is better. It will also depend on what other players are injured. I will wait and see what happens with the FA match.

Fair enough, just more funds to get Laca so i will be playing Jimi this GW but have the money for Laca next week, also benching Wood could hurt you this GW

I am not taking the risk of Wolves or Southampton defense. They are good, but too risky dor my taste.

Relying on the regular returns from the best in the league: Ramsdale, TAA, Robertson, Cancelo, Rudiger.

Can I get some opinions on the following moves for this week, they assume Chelsea will double:
VVD, Bowen, Weghorst > Rudiger, Raphinha, Adams (-8)?

    This would leave me with:
    Sa Ramsdale
    TAA Rudiger Digne Saiss Tierney
    Salah Son Saka Raphinha Coutinho
    Jimenez Adams Broja

maddison or mount in wc team? unlikely mount will play both gw28 games right? maddison has leeds gw28 and plays gw30 but mount has great fixtures until end of season and not keen on swapping players to avoid unecessary transfers. thoughts? cant have both as rest of mid looks like salah sakah willock ramsey. thanks.

The case for a GW32 wildcard.
I still hold my wildcard and I have been looking at when best to use it. I personally have a plan for upto GW 30 but I am wondering when to play the WC after that. I think playing it as early as possible is best to maximize its value, but GW31 has good games for the players we likely already hold at that point. GW32 sees a big shift in fixtures.
Teams like Chelsea and Leicester shift to the top end of the fixture ticker at this point and both have games in hand. Chelsea defence and Leicester attack look very good at this point. We may see if there is any value in Everton at that point as they also have many games in hand. We should have more certainty on the remaining fixtures at this point also.
The other alternative I have looked at is GW33 for the wildcard and free hitting in GW32 as Liverpool and Man City play that week, however I have the luxury of holding 2 FH's (1 will be used in 30) and I know many wont.
What are the people who hold the WC think, when will you use it?

Cheers, nice analysis. I have 2FHs left and WC. Using one FH in GW30 and no idea when the other one. I was going to use WC in 31 but I might rethink and follow you on 32.

as usual i think it depends on your team. i dont own kane wolves leicester southampton chelsea so for me 28 is the best. really good for setting up 3 upcoming doubles and blank.

Of course totally team dependent. 28 has the benefit now and you know what is best for your team.

I am hoping this will happen by GW32. There will be very few game weeks left by then. People like Ben Crelin/Legomane will have a very good idea by this point even if there are no announcements. Plus we will know who is through in the FA cup.

    FOSTER
    TAA Cancelo LIVRA

Hey guys, not been doing much fpl this week so just wanted to ask

Is their any merit in a free hit this week ?

    11 doublers rather than 5 or 6 with a -8/12

Get jota back in 29 for his double as I still have

Triple up on Chelsea when no one has them

Avoid city and United for a week

Are these valid points or is the general consensus to save it? I only have 4 for week 30’atm!
