Two more Double Gameweek 29 matches take place this evening and there is plenty of interest in both of them from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective.

Brighton and Hove Albion v Tottenham Hotspur gets underway at 19:30 GMT, with Arsenal v Liverpool kicking off 45 minutes later.

The headline team news comes from the Emirates, where Mohamed Salah is only among the substitutes after his injury scare at the weekend.

Diogo Jota takes the Egyptian’s place in the front three.

Jurgen Klopp’s only other alteration from the win over Brighton sees Naby Keita drop out and Thiago Alcantara come in.

Mikel Arteta keeps faith with the same 11 players that saw off Leicester City on Sunday.

As for the match on the south coast, there are no real shocks on either teamsheet.

Spurs are unchanged from their 3-2 loss at Manchester United, which means starts for well-owned assets like Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski and Matt Doherty.

There are two alterations to the Brighton starting XI, meanwhile, one of which sees Tariq Lamptey drop to the bench – a now-common occurrence when the Seagulls play twice within the space a few days, such is Albion’s management of his minutes.

Shane Duffy and Pascal Gross both start as Steven Alzate also makes way.

Above: FPL assets sorted by ‘effective ownership’ in the top 10k. All bar Martin Dubravka of the players in green above are in action this evening.

I disagree... All assets are basically individual choices. Only if you want to play safe and protect rank this approach becomes void.

      Highly unlikely.

Quotes from the presser before the Brighton game

Antonio Conte says he would be crazy to drop Heung-Min Son:
”I’m not crazy to do something like this. Honestly no, It doesn’t happen.”

Those with 2FH left, what is the plan?
Im thinking GW36 is no need since it will be very easy to get 11 players from the big teams with DGW which you are already loaded up on except Man City that can be added with transfers. FH33 can be handy and then the other FH is up for grabs. What do you think?

    1. Yes Ndidi
      • 6 Years
      3 years, 10 months ago

As you say. I expect to have all the players I'd want on a FH36 by then anyway, whereas the doublers in 33 aren't exactly prime stock any other week. I'm using the other one now in 30, just because I have 2 and I can't see another week I'd use it rather than tweak what I have with FTs or a hit.

Thx for response, Im considering it also this week even though I have 8 players without a hit. Maybe it can be handy in a week like gw37, a smaller DGW.

Is this midfield too weak? For gw31 onwards

    Ramsdale
    TAA Cancelo Laporte Robertson James
    Salah Kulu Raphina Saka
    Kane

    Foster Ramsey Dennis Broja

Or would you rather have no James and the likes of Coutinho/Mount/Havertz in midfield?

    Cheers

        GW25 1,506,921
        GW26 154,617
        GW27 226,208
        GW28 104,429
        GW29 574,660

Difficult to get very high GW rank without being too differential. I don't think it's worth it tbh. Risks are too high.

    Ramsdale
    Tierney, Johnson
    Coutinho, Saka, Kulu, Ramsey
    Kane, Jiminez

(Missing; Bachmann, Salah, TAA, Rudiger, Robbo, Dennis)

Currently have 9 players, would want 11 ideally but means I'm losing one of my premium defenders for 1GW which I'd rather avoid doing.

    Any advice please?

One of my regrets of this FPL season was owing Sanchez and hanging onto him for as long as I did. Weeks and weeks of conceding with 1 or 2 saves made. Brutal!!! 😆

    GW25 63 9 2 4 1564 70,358

    GW27 67 0 3 8 1756 53,427
    GW28 131 0 4 12 1875 28,491
    GW29 ??? ? 2 4 1943 23,075

Hits are maybe dangerous, but my hit cost during last game weeks hasn't been small. During gw26 to gw28 those weeks included my hit cost was 36 points. I challenge you "The Mighty -4" and famous James Bond of FPL! How are you doing?

Mostly yeah, depends how you use them. I mostly use social media to check the latest news or to communicate with people. I avoid the toxic side of it as much as I can.

But I just didn’t expect when I started following FPL accounts to see this constant pettiness and putting others down. There’s some of that on this site but they’re a minority, on Twitter it’s a majority. Some are not like that but still.

I joined about a year ago but have started unfollowing a lot of people. Just try to keep it to some key accounts. The main behaviours I don't like are the boasting about rank, scores and strategy. Sometimes it's just a big circle jerk of people back slapping themselves on their own brilliance.

Yeah, only real W/C regret for me. Toyed with bringing in Havertz and didn't and went Ramsey (and sold this GW for Kulu) over Coutinho being another. No regrets as spent enough time on it all as am off work, so those decisions just boil down to bad luck...

No, used it up with rest of the squad. Digne and Countinho were two of the first players I chose on my W/C team and watched a content provider on YouTube a few days later who said "Ramsey is just as attacking as Countinho and can cover his points" and then had a shift around in the squad. Haha.
