Joe, Seb and Andy help Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers prepare for Gameweek 32 and beyond.

FPL managers can breathe a sigh of relief this time around in a rare Gameweek without a double or blank fixture to trouble them.

However, there is no shortage of tough problems ahead. This includes how to deploy remaining chips and make transfers given the new fixtures announced on Monday for later in the season.

In a perfectly timed move, for the Scoutcasters at least, the Premier League has confirmed a raft of dates for rescheduled games, with enticing doubles ahead for Gameweeks 36 and 37.

This latest episode looks at each team’s prospects for our attention before the season concludes, offering advice on the best time to use chips along the way.

Even without chips, investment in Leicester City, Chelsea and Manchester City assets could make or break many FPL managers’ campaigns.

Among major issues ahead is whether Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah (£13.3m), who has struggled to find the net in open play in recent weeks, makes way. Could FPL managers prosper by removing such an explosive asset and replace him with other premium gems? Or is it a risk too far?

Elsewhere, Joe is preparing his trolley for some bargain basement shopping ahead of his Bench Boost in Gameweek 33. But, is Manchester United’s Fred (£4.9m) really the best he can find?

Attacking defenders are also discussed, as are the latest trials and tribulations of the community team that the Scoutcast crew are managing on behalf of a top manager.

There’s also time for some quick-fire questions during another lengthy episode, where even two hours doesn’t seem long enough to tackle all the challenges facing FPL managers in this tricky season.

Finally, team reveals and captaincy calls round off the show, which was streamed on Tuesday 5 April.

  1. Salah (c) in GW32?

    Salah (c) anyone?

He scored and assisted in the first game against City. After that he literally destroyed United. We're talking about 13 and 24 points in the same set of fixtures, but games will be played at Etihad and Anfield this time. Different circumstances, less games played, no misery with Egypt, I know. A lot has happened since then, but nothing changes the fact that Mo is a big game player and needs just one goal to get confidence back. I understand why people are selling him, going for de Bruyne, Fernandes, breaking the template ... in the meantime perhaps forgetting what he's capable of.

Name me a better time to move up a gear, than title decider? He'll be up for it.

He had some serious form back then. I might even bench him for Jansson.

He’s in horrendous form and playing the best team in the world away from home. Not sure he is C material this week.

The big game player argument has some merit though. Which is why I captain KDB.

4 goals in his last 5 PL starts, ‘horrendous form’

Jeez Bubz. Would you be surprised if he scored a brace minimum on Sunday? I wouldn’t

How many of those were penalties? Have you watched him play? He’s been awful by his standards. I wouldn’t be surprised if he scored a brace, of course not, it’s Salah. But I wouldn’t say he’s optimal captain material this week

            Yes, I agree with this.

By his standards perhaps, but he’s not on horrendous form. He can’t score every single game. And as mentioned on previous article, he often has a spell like this every season because his standards are so high.

I do, but a player can’t just score every game just because they’re in your FPL team. What happens if he scores on Sunday (big game where he often plays well), still in poor form? Too reactionary.

FPL is about making the best decision you can based on the evidence you have at your disposal. Sure he might score but the evidence points towards another player being a better captain right now...

No doubt he’s a big game player
But it’s Man City we’re talking about lol
If someone’s winning at the Etihad it’s gonna be City.
As good as Salah is, City is superior to Liverpool (by the smallest of margins) and I expect them to win/draw.
      Good luck backing Salah.

One thing I will say in favour of him is that he should be up against Cancelo. Cancelo is so important for City's build-up play and ball-carrying that I do expect some joy down the right for Liverpool. But he just doesn't seem right and there are a number of reasons why that may be. It sounds silly but he's not the same player that played against City earlier this season.

Backing Salah at home vs City is something maybe I could agree upon(I personally don’t back anyone vs City and Pool)
But Backing him at the Etihad is Not ideal
He might get a lucky pen or something but City are the best defence in the league.

Let's be honest here: the main reason one talks up Salah at the moment is because it's freakin' scary to go without given the ridiculously high ownership.

On evidence - granted, eye test more so than stats, he's not at his best. A 13M player not at his best and no captain material should be replaced by a better value player.

If it wasn't for the fact that the two best teams play each other, I'm holding off a straight swap for KDB, but I'm losing Salah for Son and Maddison. KDB coming in next week.

My biggest fear, is fear itself.

If you're not considering capping someone else when Salah plays City away and with the way he is playing, then name me a game you'll actually captain someone else. Well, let me think, you won't.

      1. Arteta
        • 10 Years
        3 years, 8 months ago

I already had 14 different captains this season, so you simply can't throw me in "always just cap Salah, never get fancy" club. I'm playing my own game and sometimes going against the crowd, which is why I'm really interested in Salah (c) this gameweek. How many active players will actually go ahead with it?

I never said he's the best option or anything and didn't expect this post to be hulked, I was just expressing my opinion and how a couple of blanks and dip in form affects people's thinking about (in my opinion) the best player in the league.

I did consider it - part of the reason I’m not doing it is it just doesn’t feel fun - I’ve got Cancelo at the back so if Salah does anything he’s wiping Cancelo points and vice versa. It’s just hard to get excited about. Going to captain Kane this week most likely

What would you do here? Got WC, FH and BB in hand.

    Ramsdale (Foster)
    Robbo, Cancelo, James, Regulion, (Dawson)
    Salah, Saka, Kulu, Raphina, Coutinho
    Kane, (Broja) (Dennis)

Thinking Coutinho to Havertz this week
    FH 33
    WC 34
    BB 36

    What do you reckon?

I’m with you. It’s difficult keeping 15 good players for a few matches before and then have them sat on the bench for games after a bb. Especially at the end of the season when some teams start winding down and getting unpredictable

    I'm rolling FT this week...

    Who do you bench?

    Ramsdale
    Robbo James Doherty
    Salah Kulu Saka Maddison Eriksen
    Kane Laca
    (DDG Cancelo Livra Broja)

Don't want to bench Maddison or Eriksen with their decent home games so considering Robbo, Cancelo primarily.

Eriksen is class and West Ham are fully focused on Europe. It's a perfect fixture imo. So yeah, not gonna bench Eriksen.

At least one of Robbo or Cancelo is gonna get 1 or 2 points imo. I just have no idea which one (although both could be bad as well if there's no attacking returns with both sides scoring).

33 looks best for a BB with DUBRAVKA BROJA DEWSBURY-HALL and Cucho. Doesn't ruin your first 11 either.
Shame Watford and Palace don't double the same game week in 36 or 37.

For GW33, but will effect my moves this week. Thanks all 🙂

Kulu and Rudiger to Laporte and Maddison (Have Barnes) for free
    or
Kulu Davies Dennis to Cancelo 4.5 striker and Martinelli for a -4

Also thinking of getting Barnes as well as Maddison, but I wouldn't be doing it at the expense of Kulu (and probably wouldn't lose Rudiger either)...

I would love Maddison. Doubles are incredible, wish I had him ahead of Barnes. Think Kulu has to go sadly, double isn’t good and I need the cash. Your right about Rudiger though feels wrong.. Thanks for response 🙂

    Would you do;

Kilman and Kulu to Maddison and Amartey?

Other option is Raphina out instead of kulu

    For Tierney replacement...
    Better to do...
    A) Matip
    B) Amartey

I have a solid defence (Cancelo, TAA, Rudiger, Doherty) and will probably play 4-5-1 for remaining weeks.

Amartey is to release funds which could either be used in conjunction with a midfield downgrade in a couple of weeks to allow for Amartey to Robertson or funds could instead be used to upgrade a Mid.

Matip would be a direct replacement that would be used in rotation with Doherty.

Weghorst is going to score 6 goals in his next 4 games and is going to keep Burnley up.

2 tonight, 2 against Norwich and then 2 in GW 33.

    Big tings coming.

      2 Spurs and Gunners
      1 Chelsea
      1 Leicester
      + fodder

You're going to have to deal with Tierney at some point - depends who you want it & whether you think 1 sub is enough this week
