FPL managers set for small Double Gameweek 34/35

The Premier League threw a small curveball our way on Thursday evening with a further fixture announcement.

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will get either a small Double Gameweek 34 or 35, depending on the results of this weekend’s FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

Scoutcast old guard Mark Sutherns and Joe Lepper will be reacting to the news in a video for Premium Members from 6.30pm BST, which you can find at the bottom of this piece.

IF CHELSEA WIN

  • Chelsea’s Gameweek 37 match with Manchester United will move to Gameweek 34 (Thursday 28 April).
  • Chelsea would be left with a single fixture in Gameweek 37 (Leicester City at home), while United would blank.
  • Chelsea would have West Ham (h) and Man Utd (a) in Gameweek 34, while United would have Arsenal (a) and Chelsea (h)

IF CRYSTAL PALACE WIN

  • Crystal Palace’s Gameweek 37 match with Aston Villa will move to Gameweek 35 (Tuesday 3 May).
  • Both Palace (Everton away) and Villa (Burnley at home) will be left with a single fixture in Gameweek 37.
  • Palace would have Southampton (a) and Villa (a) in Gameweek 35, while Villa would have Norwich (h) and Palace (h).

The Premier League added that “any rearrangements for matches involving Liverpool or Manchester City will be confirmed in due course”.

      Use of chips is team specific. How your team look for this gameweek. Do you have Doherty, Raphinha, No Utd players etc.. Or do you have 8 DGW players before making a transfer?

      The most popular strategy would be to FH this week, WC next week to prepare for a BB in GW36 but depends on how well or not your team is set up for this gameweek.

          So a minimum of 2 hits to remove non players. I think team looks fine. You could wildcard in 34, use BB in 36 and FH in 37 (maybe Man City will get a double). You will lose ground on those playing a chip this week but will gain a big advantage by having chips in later gameweeks.

    Wonder why Chelsea stopped using Chalobah?

    When he starts, Chelsea has given up only 5 goals in 11 games. 2 were in a Liverpool game. Plus, he's a beast for Headed goals.

    I was about to bring him On cause it's obvious he makes the defense better, but Tuchel does not agree with anonymous FPL causals. WTH!

      I've got a feeling Chalobah will have a game or two soon again. Thiago Silva will have had Real Madrid, then a Cup semi final and then Arsenal all in 7 days... I heard the other day he is the oldest outfield player in the Premier League this year. If he isn't rested for one of these upcoming two he surely will be for the GW34 against West Ham

    What do people think are the chances of Thiago Silva gets rested vs. Arsenal? If he doesn't play in the cup against Palace (but unlikely he will be rested for that right?), then maybe a rest in midweek?
    Reason I ask is my defence is Silva, White, Dier, (Coady, Williams). With both Coady and Williams not playing in GW33 bit of a risk of not having a full team.

      Before this season not been great but this season has been electric and Leipzig's best player. Can't add to rumours but there will be plenty of buyers circling.

      He comes from the PSG academy and was our best player in the squad that reached the Youth League final in 2016 with Edouard. At the time he was a central mid with an eye for goal (which comes from his early years as an offensive mid) and he stayed for years as a squad player with little game time. He was decent whenever he came on and clearly had potential but it was clear he needed to leave to play more consistently.

      He was sold to Leipzig in 2019, where Nagelsmann repositionned him as an attacking mid and after 2 decent seasons, he has become by far their best player. He is a complete player now : build-up, link-up play, chance creation and goalscoring, he literally takes care of everything in that team. He was deservedly called up in the France squad for the first time in March.

      The only transfer rumour I have seen so far is about a return to PSG, but I doubt it will happen, with both Neymar and Messi in the team his profile would be too redundant.
