Spurs v Brighton team news: Reguilon in for injured Doherty

A quieter-than-usual Saturday of Premier League football begins with Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton and Hove Albion.

Kick-off in north London is at 12:30 BST.

Antonio Conte makes one change from the Lilywhites’ 4-0 win at Aston Villa, and it’s an enforced one at that.

Matt Doherty is out for the season with a knee injury, so Sergio Reguilon comes in at left wing-back.

There is only one change made by Graham Potter after Brighton’s impressive victory over Arsenal last weekend.

Danny Welbeck drops to the bench, with Tariq Lamptey taking his place.

With Neal Maupay only a substitute again, Alexis Mac Allister takes up a central striking role.

    Taking hits to play BB.

    Am I the only one who thinks this is madness? The effect of the chip is it allows you to get points for *your worst players* who would otherwise be on your bench. Most players on your bench are unlikely to return, which is why you would bench them, so you're primarily relying on appearance points. Even if you bring in a doubler, the likelihood is that they will get 2x 2 appearance points, which makes a -4 to get them in completely pointless.

    My philosophy has always been that if you have a good bench on any given week, or you can get one with free transfers, then go for it. Anything you get is a bonus really. But taking hits to do it seems backwards to me because if one of your players gets 4 points, you've effectively BB'd with 3 players instead of 4.

    End of rant trying to justify still having my BB to play 😀

      An alternative mindset (maybe radical) could be that if you view the BB as a crap chip, you can use it to offset the cost ofa points hit, where you shuffle your main 11 by 4-5 players. Its like a true mini-wildcard and you can write the BB off this way.

        That's true and I quite like the mindset, particularly useful in a H2H league if you've taken hits and your opponent hasn't. But most people aren't using it that way. The ones I have seen are taking hits to get players just so they have 4 bench players who actually play this week (maybe play twice). I guess what I'm saying is taking hits for budget players who need to repay the hit immediately just so you can play the BB chip seems silly to me but to each their own.

        I went for a very dull BB this week mainly as it’s a headache building one for GW36 otherwise - If you want 3 decent playing forwards with no Cucho it’s pretty expensive and means I’d have to sacrifice elsewhere on my WC
