Early team news and injury updates for FPL Double Gameweek 37

We’ve got the early team and injury news for all 19 Premier League clubs who are in action in Double Gameweek 37.

It has been updated after the midweek Premier League matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the press conference round-up on Friday superseding it.

Check out our Team News and Predicted Line-ups tab and Injuries and Bans section for more information.

ARSENAL

Kieran Tierney (knee) and Thomas Partey (thigh) look set to miss the north London derby on Thursday and potentially the rest of the season but Mikel Arteta said he “thinks” Ben White (hamstring) will be back for the clash with Tottenham Hotspur, so the centre-half should be fit for Gameweek 37 barring any setback.

ASTON VILLA

Steven Gerrard reported no fresh concerns ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Liverpool but Leon Bailey (ankle), Kortney Hause (abdomen) and Jacob Ramsey (groin) remained out of that match.

Ramsey has a “decent chance” of recovering for Gameweek 37, at least.

Ollie Watkins is now a minor concern following that defeat to the Reds, with Gerrard saying that the striker may have a “small injury”.

BRENTFORD

Saman Ghoddos (ankle), Ethan Pinnock (hamstring), Sergi Canos (hamstring), Zanka (muscle) and Frank Onyeka (ankle) were all on the sidelines for the win over Southampton. Pinnock and Canos could be back for Gameweek 37 and Ghoddos has had his protective boot removed but Zanka and Onyeka’s seasons are over.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION

Jakub Moder (knee) and Enock Mwepu (groin) are out for the season but Jeremy Sarmiento could be back in the running, as he is now past the 10-day prognosis for his “slight” hamstring injury.

BURNLEY

Ben Mee (knee) and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (calf) won’t return for the weekend, while Ashley Westwood (ankle) and Matej Vydra (knee) have season-ending injuries.

Further news is awaited on James Tarkowski, who complained of hamstring tightness in Saturday’s defeat to Aston Villa, while Jay Rodriguez was absent for the second week running with a similar problem.

CHELSEA

Callum Hudson-Odoi (Achilles/back) and Ben Chilwell (knee) were again absent in Gameweek 36, while N’Golo Kante was sidelined with a minor injury but is now back in training. Mateo Kovacic (knock) is the latest addition to the injury list, with Thomas Tuchel declaring him “unlikely” to be fit to face Liverpool in the FA Cup final – a match that takes place four days before the league fixture against Leicester.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Patrick Vieira confirmed that Vicente Guaita missed the 1-0 win over Watford through an unspecified injury, while Marc Guehi‘s availability for Gameweek 37 is in some doubt after he limped off with an ankle injury. Media reports suggest he won’t be out for too long, however.

Nathan Ferguson (muscle/match fitness) won’t feature again this season.

EVERTON

Andros Townsend (knee) and Nathan Patterson (ankle) are out for the season, while a Gameweek 38 appearance is probably the best that Yerry Mina can hope for after he picked up a calf injury on Sunday.

Ben Godfrey (thigh) and Donny van de Beek (groin) could return for Gameweek 37, however.

LEEDS UNITED

Crysencio Summerville (ankle), Stuart Dallas (leg), Adam Forshaw (knee) and Tyler Roberts (hamstring) are out for the season but Patrick Bamford (foot) is scheduled to return to full training this week and should feature by Gameweek 38 if not this weekend.

Luke Ayling and Daniel James will miss the run-in after being sent off this week, however, while Jack Harrison will be assessed for a “contusion” he picked up against Chelsea in midweek.

LEICESTER CITY

Wilfred Ndidi (knee) and Ryan Bertrand (knee) remain out for the long term, while Ricardo Pereira‘s season is also likely over after he missed the Everton game with a hamstring issue.

Wesley Fofana (muscle) was absent from the win over Norwich City as a precaution but will be fine for Gameweek 37.

LIVERPOOL

Jurgen Klopp had a fully-fit squad going into Tuesday’s match against Aston Villa, with Roberto Firmino returning as an unused substitute after a foot problem.

Andrew Robertson was “rested” – and not injured – for that win at Villa Park but the Reds now have a minor concern over Fabinho, who limped out of the midweek game with a muscular issue.

MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City were hit by a triple defensive injury blow in the hours after the 5-0 win over Newcastle United, with Pep Guardiola confirming that Kyle Walker (ankle), John Stones (muscle) and Ruben Dias (muscle) were out for the season.

The City boss explained in the same update that Nathan Ake – an unused substitute on Sunday – was playing through an ankle niggle of late and isn’t fully fit himself.

Further bad news followed on Wednesday as Aymeric Laporte (knock) and Fernandinho (muscle) hobbled off; Guardiola claiming that it “doesn’t look good” for the pair.

NEWCASTLE UNITED

Kieran Trippier (foot) and Callum Wilson (calf) made their long-awaited returns from injury on Sunday, with Fabian Schar (ankle) joining them on the bench.

Ryan Fraser (hamstring) is also now back in training but the seasons of Jonjo Shelvey (calf) and Joe Willock (knee) are over and Federico Fernandez has picked up a “slight” Achilles injury.

NORWICH CITY

Ozan Kabak (hamstring), Adam Idah (ankle/knee), Andrew Omobamidele (back), Christoph Zimmermann (hip), Kenny McLean (toe), Mathias Normann (thigh) and Josh Sargent (ankle) were all ruled out of Wednesday’s match against Leicester, although we haven’t got a timeframe on Zimmermann or Normann. The rest are likely out for the season.

SOUTHAMPTON

Tino Livramento (knee) is the only Southampton player on the sidelines at the time of writing: he was stretchered off in the two-all draw with Brighton and Hove Albion and has since been ruled out for the rest of 2022.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Matt Doherty (knee), Oliver Skipp (groin) and Japhet Tanganga (knee) are out until the end of the season, while Sergio Reguilon also remains on the injury list, with groin pain putting paid to his involvement in the last two Gameweeks.

We haven’t yet got a timeframe on the Spaniard’s recovery but, speaking on Tuesday, Antonio Conte was downbeat on the wing-back’s chances of featuring again in 2021/22.

WATFORD

Relegated Watford were hit by multiple injury blows ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Everton, with the Hornets firstly confirming that Imrân Louza (knee) was out for the season.

Roy Hodgson has cast doubt over whether Emmanuel Dennis (knee) and Ismaila Sarr (knee) will feature again this season, meanwhile.

Juraj Kucka (knee), Kwadwo Baah (international duty) and Nicolas Nkoulou (groin) all missed the visit of the Toffees, as did Cucho Hernandez (hamstring), who was back on the grass ahead of the relegation-confirming loss at Selhurst Park with the hope being that he may be back in action before Gameweek 38. Nkoulou should also be available this weekend.

Also newly available is Hassane Kamara after his suspension, while Joshua King (illness) Kiko Femenia (illness) and Tom Cleverley (ribs) are possibilities to feature in Gameweek 37.

WEST HAM UNITED

Angelo Ogbonna (knee) was the only West Ham player on the sidelines ahead of the thumping win at Norwich but the Hammers have three new concerns after Gameweek 36.

Michail Antonio (hip), Said Benrahma (ankle) and Craig Dawson (calf) all picked up injuries at Carrow Road but David Moyes was at least hopeful that the problems aren’t too serious.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Max Kilman (muscle) and Nelson Semedo (hamstring) are out until August, while Daniel Podence (toe) “still has some restrictions” despite a return to training and no date has been placed on his return.

Wouldn't have any Leicester on FH at all.

Team is checked out and they're all rotation risks. Plus the games are both away and one of them is Chelsea.

Activating my FH and tinkering between these 3 options. Which one is the best?

    A) TAA + KDB + Coutinho + Gordon
    B) Robbo + KDB + Coutinho + Zaha
    C) Matip + Mahrez + Zaha + Kane

    Other 7 warriors are:
    Pickford
    Cancelo Cash
    Salah Son
    Richarlison Watkins

    Mane + Andersen
    Diaz + Watkins

    Pickford
    TAA Digne Cash
    Salah Son Gordon
    Kane Richarlison

I think this is what my core will be. It just makes sense. I think I'm gonna gamble on West Ham making the City game tough.

My team is your core plus Zaha and Watkins/Ings.

Might do Mane/Diaz instead of Salah, depending on tonight/Saturday.

Don't fancy Palace clean sheets so I'd go for Watkins over Anderson.

Southampton are bad and Liverpool need to make up their goal difference. If they win against Villa and are still within touching distance of City I will triple up on Pool for sure.

Didn't think of Everton defense over Gordon but tbh with Mina out, I don't trust Everton defense as much.

I also think Palace are underrated. Their defensive stats are among the best in the league. If Guehi is fit I'd be tempted to get at least one.

Burnley's defense is worse than West Ham and Spurs are at home. I think going Kane is better. Just about.

Yep, this. No contest for me between Kane and KdB. One could be 4-0, the other more likely to be 1-1.

While I broadly agree with these predictions, I think its worth pointing that out of KDB's 6 double digit hauls this season, 4 have come in 1-0 or 2-0 wins

Its a bit hard to choose the Liverpool attacker now with 2 games in between. If its Mané/Salah/Jota tonight & Mané/Salah/Diaz on Sat, and Firmino get some decent mins off the bench in the meantime, I'll certainly be contemplating going with Jota & Firmino.

Leaning Andersen over Watkins. Think there'll be some big defender scores this week but haven't quit settled on my exact lineup - currently Pickford Cash Digne Robbo Andersen but also thinking about Villa triple up with Martinez

I quite like Watkins against that Burnley defense tbh.

I think I'm leaning Diaz, Watkins. But let's see what happens in the next few games. That will affect things.

Not sure if I should bring in Zaha on FH? Also not sure on KDB?

Maybe Salah or Jota. How's it looking below?

    Pickford

    Cash / TAA / Digne

    KDB / Jota/Diaz / Son / Mane / Gordon

    Richarlison / Watkins

    Jakupovic / Andersen / Royal / Nketiah

    Thanks

Very good but it's unlikely to be a huge winner this week.

Spreading thin on Son, KdB, Zaha rather than focusing in on Liverpool, Spurs or City probably won't get you a big score.

Mitchell ➡ Andersen / Clyne. I have him in my regular team & he's been frustratingly sidelined recently. Not entirely clear if he's still returning to full fitness or if Vieira just wants to try out different combos

I’ve just got Gordon instead of Laporte and Mane instead of KDB (but could yet become KDB or even Kane yet)

No FH left and have 3 doublers, 2 of which are dubious.

    Ramsdale
    Laporte Cancelo TAA James
    Coutinho* Saka Kulusevski Salah
    Kane Richarlison

    Dubravka Ramsey* Schar Young-Coombes (0itb 1FT)

I had planned to roll, probably play Ramsey. What on earth now? Hold them or sell them?

The easiest moves if any are Coutinho to Zaha, Ramsdale to a dgw keeper, Ramsey to Gordon, Schar to Chambers/Clyne

Hmm I like parts of each, but if B has no room for Liverpool mids at all then I'd have to say A

Richarlison, KDB and Watkins will rise in price soon as per FPL statistics.
Is it better to save our FH team from now? as I will need all of them in my FH team...

Those who have Kane in their team and who use fh for gw37, are you keeping him in your FH team ?

Every intention was to use FH this week, but team looks quite strong. Only have 2 doublers though. Still worth FH instead of wasting it surely?

    Scheichel (Foster)
Laporte / Cancelo / TAA / Davies (Alonso)
    Saka / Son / Salah / KDB / Gordon
    Nket (Pukki / Gelhardt

    Surely I need some Villa

      Your team looks good.

Im in similar position, and now unsure (would only have 3 doublers this gw as is - but if I FH, it would only go up to 6, as want to have sgl gw-ers Robbo/Salah/Son/Mahrez/Kane)

For me I dont have Kane/Son, so I either FH them in for Burnley in 37, or in 38 away to norwich.

May as well utilize it as it's a DGW I think although can be often be a trap. I will try to keep hold of most of my premium assets in this double, but bring in the dgw 'essentials'. I don't particularly want Schmeic as my GK on a FH either.

Yeah he is my gk at the moment as well, other is Richarlison - and then id maybe transfer in Cash/Digne for Alonso if no FH.

I can get this FH for 37 which looks sweet (obvs gambling on dbl villa/everton def is a risk!)
          Pickford
          Digne - Cash - Robbo - Mykolenko
          Salah - Mahrez - Son
          Richarlison - Kane - Watkins

          Vs non FH
          Schmeichel
          Robbo - Taa - Cancelo - Digne - Davies
          Salah - Kdb - Mount - Kulu
          Richarlison -

If Mahrez is rested tomorrow, that's a good looking team. If not, it's an easy switch to a different City player

Your team is in good shape, but would probably still use this week as I don't see what you would change on FH38. At least this week you could profitably switch Alonso - Cash, Nketiah - Watkins/Richarlison or something like that

Yeah I think that's best. Alonso has to go. Nket I may keep but Pukki may well be sacrificed for Villa fwd or Richarlison

Pickford better for 37, would take Schmeichel for 38 tho

Alonso > Cash/Digne for sure. Don't like the Arsenal double up - maybe Saka > Zaha, but not sure if that's worth a hit

Any idea how to improve this ?
    Chasing ML by 30+ pts

    Pope (Dubravka)
    James / Cancelo / Matip / Cash
    Mount / Salah / Saka / Foden
    Toney / Kane

    Sub : Mateta / Schar / Ramsey

And is Cash(C) too maverick considering opponent will probably capt Watkins

    Thanks

Captaining Cash is not a bad call actually - I think his ceiling might be higher than Watkins'. Watkins could easily score against Burnley but rarely hauls big & Palace should keep things pretty tight. For Cash, I think one CS is very likely, and 2 CS + 1 attacking return certainly plausible which could take you up to 15-18pt territory

    Ramsdale
    Taa James Cancelo Holgate Kilman
    Salah Havertz Saka Son Coutinho
    Pukki Watkins Broja

is Havertz, Pukki & Broja to Zaha, Richarlison & 4.5 fodder worth a -4?

Looks good for 37 - bench will be light for 38. Maybe Coutinho > Foden/Kulu next week

    How's this?

    Pickford
    TAA Cash Mykolenko
    Salah Son Diaz Buendia
    Kane Richarlison Watkins

Got some interesting differrentials in there. If we're tipping Watkins to score and do well, Buendia is a fairly logical pick.

If its safe to assume that Digne plays twice & Buendia once, I think Digne is likely to outscore him. Not entirely sure how safe that assumption is though since Digne returned unexpectedly quickly...

Yes I think Digne starts both unless he gets injured.

Started in GW35 as well as this past weekend so he's been back for a bit.

    Son Gordon/Zaha kdb Salah
    Richarlison Watkins

    Opinion?
