The Scout’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Classic League has now been renewed and is open for registration. Those who participated in our league last season will have been automatically renewed as members of our league again this term.

If you’re new to the Scout, then you’ll need to go to the league page on the FPL site, click “Join a League”, select “Private League” and enter the following code – 40184-13425. You’ll find this code on the homepage, in the middle column, from now on.

What do you get if you win the Classic League? Huge kudos and a place in the hall of fame alongside Jon Reeson, Chris McGurn and last season’s winner Gary McLean. Plus, of course, if you’ve won the Scout league, you’re likely to be right up there with the best FPL managers, challenging for the top prize. Two of the last three FPL Champions have come from the Fantasy Football Scout League, while Gary McLean ranked third overall last season, missing out on the crown on the final day by just ten points. In other words, the standard is pretty bloody high.

We’ll be putting together regular league updates on the site, tracking the progress of the front runners as the Gameweeks roll by and those tussling at the top will, of course, get regular mentions in the ScoutCast.

We will also be launching a Members League – details of that will be appearing in the Members area early next week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Feel bad for Smalling because he had injury problems last season too right ? But this is interesting from FPL perspective, does this make Rafael nailed on RB or will Jones still threaten for his place ?

Would you want to use Ashley that much for the first few days? JT too. RDM wont want to burn them up early. Bertrand or Ferreira could start vs Reading and not miss a beat.

That Ramadan thing and a potential slow start for those players is definitely.... well, food for thought.

Might be worth giving those players a few games before pouncing on any of them.

I'm fascinated by all the people planning on getting rid of Torres. If you think he will bomb then why get him in. If you think he will tear it up why would you want to get rid? 😕

That is why I have not bought him at all. I actually think he will do well, but I see Aguero and Rooney as being the must-have strikers. Having Torres as well just kills the midfield.

Agree partly. However, if Nando comes up good he could be better value. Would love to have both Aguero and Rooney but it's a bit pricey for my liking. Will get Rooney in GW2 and ditch Kun most probably.

                b) Wait until GW3 for Vidic (I'm having him) and keep Hazard

I'm a fan of Ben Arfa but would lean toward Michu. Ben Arfa has a somewhat difficult opening schedule, is more expensive at 7.5 (Michu will come in at 6mil maximum I expect) and he's Muslim so may be a little off towards the start due to Ramadan (may not be a huge impact but something worth considering).

Michu on the other hand has one of the kindest opening schedules, as mentioned is cheaper and looks to have real potential if he scored 15 goals last season from midfield.

Ramadan will most probably be done a few days into the start of the Prem League. It started Today/Yesterday depending on the moon sighting and only continues for 28/29 days.

So safe to say it'll be done by the 19/20th of August.

Very tempted, pretty sure he'll be 1st choice over Jones. Dont like the idea of him missing the odd one though to give Jones a game. Apparently Fergie has said hes going to rotate less this season though because playing youngsers in the CL group stage cost him , hopefully this translates into the prem as well.
