The first midweek round of Premier League fixtures is drawing ever closer and for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, so is the spectre of rotation.

It’s been a relatively serene affair so far in 2022/23, with all bar UEFA Europa Conference League entrants West Ham United enjoying ample recovery time in between their league matches. As a result, starting XIs have been relatively settled.

The real unpredictable business starts after Gameweek 4, however, with two more Gameweeks following in quick succession.

Beyond that, the six or seven English sides involved in European club competition will play twice a week, every week – with the exception of the late-September international break – up until the Premier League halts for the World Cup.

There’ll be plenty of coverage on packed schedules and rotation risks on these pages over the coming days, weeks and months, then, and we’ll start with a look at turnaround times between the league fixtures in Gameweeks 4-6.

GAMEWEEK 4-6: OVERVIEW

Not much you can change then if you you are happy with KDB and Mo. If you are happy with that go with it.

You could also try see how to get a 343 with KDB and Mo as an alternative formation and then see what suits your team best.

So how exactly is Son third on the midfielders watchlist?

His form is far from decent and fixtures are just about ‘okay’, neither of which warrants him being third or on the list instead/ahead of Kulu currently.

Ah, did someone say a mod or con has him in his team? Got it, cheers…..

And Alison is second GK, with top of the pops Henderson not even on the list…I think the watchlist concept might need a bit of an overhaul…..FPL has form tables that could be used?

Son can be a bit of a streaky FPL asset in the past (he often has more price changes than other premium players) but has a lot of upside on the right day. Into next match it's interesting that Forest conceded 23 chances on their right side so far (so Son's side), the next worst in the league in Bournemouth on 13.

Agreed and should be on when his form is A or B, but for now there is others that should be in his place, even from other teams for example Zaha, who has awesome form and great fixtures coming up…

Have to say I'm loving all the salt today.

Simon Jordan, on Ten Hag's post-match interview: “Do you know what I took away from that interview yesterday? Honestly, I looked at Ten Hag and thought that this job is going to be too big for him. That was my take away. I watched him step up at the end and I saw a small man in a suit that doesn’t fit him and I thought ‘you don’t look like I thought you would’."

Graham Souness on Casemiro: "He’s not a great player, he’s never been a great player. I think he was lucky to be in that Real Madrid team"

This game will be remembered as the end of Klopp era, or beginning of the end.

Last season was driving on fumes, last dance.

Liverpool peaked in 2020. and everything after that was on downward trajectory. That's what I think makes Liverpool fans more worried than lack of signings and/or results. That there no signs of building for the future, just seeing the great team being dead ended and dying out with no rebuild in sight.

No I am not saying that, it's just that we have to accept that Liverpool was never meant/projected to challenge for the trophies on multiple fronts, the CL spot is the aim, and everything else a bonus rather than an actual goal set for the season.

Have Liverpool won the game v City that would give them the title? No.
Have Liverpool won the game v Spurs that was also important for the title race? No
How many goals have Liverpool scored in the three finals? 0
How many games in a row have Liverpool been conceding first goal? Is it 7?

City's defence was destroyed vs Newcastle and won't be the last time it happens this season.

I thought this a couple of years ago. And last year they weren’t that far from the quadruple.

They do have issues at the moment due to injury, but that - again - is the same as a couple of years ago.

Too early to say it’s the end, or the beginning of the end. It’s been a bad start for them tho, no doubt

Souness is just a terrible pundit, the quality of his analysis on sky is abysmal but luckily for him there aren't any great pundits to rival him on BT or Sky.

Simon Jordan just says things for shock value. That's his job, to create clips/sound bytes for talk sport.

I really don't think there is any credibility in what either of those think

I agree with this, commercial drivel.

For Simon Jordan dressed up in the commercial angle, tbf he knows as he's had his hands burnt.

Souness portrays the passion, but other than planting a flag at Galatasaray what else was noteworthy in his managerial career?

Have patience for now but if I need to downgrade somewhere to raise funds, I wouldn't have an issue selling Trent in the knowledge that I still have my wildcard to get him back later and that he will still be gettable for 7.5 (or less if his price drops)

Depends on fitness of other players as Liverpool are a shadow without Thiago and Keita. + Many of Trent's assists were for Mane, Diaz just dribbles back and forth until he gets tired

      Thoughts on losing Trent?

Three games in & they look very poor defensively.

Last year the terrible run lasted about 8 weeks until they clicked?

Mm ok, I guess there's still a lack of control without Thiago but if Fabinho is fit & Henderson moves to RCM they should be a bit tighter

Basically everyone on Liverpool defenders holding faith in returns for Bournemouth- concede in that game and flood gates open.

Newcastle isn’t an easy fixture and then it’s the derby

I see it as 3 very winnable home fixtures from the next 4 plus a very poor Everton team who will most likely adopt the same non-attacking, time wasting and shithousery tactics they did in this fixture last season.

Think Liverpool will keep a minimum 2 clean sheets from those 4 games. Wouldn't be surprised if they win all 4 plus TAA/Robbo has significant attacking threat to make them worth holding onto for this run.

I'm really tempted to ignore advice on here and wildcard to the following team. It's a bit knee jerky but seems more fun than my current defensive setup and still has a decent bench, and a little flexibility with easy downgrades etc. I can see Liverpool struggling slightly until after the break when their fixtures really improve, although doubtless I get punished by TAA this week. Crazy?

        Sanchez (Iversen)
        Perisic Trippier Saliba (Neco Patterson)
        Salah KDB Rodrigo Martinelli (Andreas)
        Haaland Jesus Toney

Ignore the advice and play the way you want to. The team looks good. I’m sure you know what people will say about who you do/don’t have and the structure. But play as you want and enjoy it. Good luck!
