Transferred in Madds and Toney before International break is over. Fingers crossed no big injuries. Had the exact money. Hate doing this.

On a WC, which seems better?

    A: Sterling + 4.0 fodder (Neco/Patterson rotation for 3rd defender every week)

    B: Martinelli + James + 1.5m

No reason Martinelli won’t continue to tick over even with the Gooners fixtures and James will, you’d imagine, outscore the rotating fodder. So B easily imo

    Folks, need your inputs

    Pope
Cancelo Trippier Perisic (N. Williams) (Guehi)
    KDB Martinelli Zaha Bailey (Andreas)
    Haaland Mitrovic Kane

Bailey is the weak link. He had an atrocious performance last gameweek and I fear that he may get dropped.

    Would you

    A. Take his one pointer on the chin ?
    B. Kane to Toney, Bailey to Maddison for -4
    C. KDB to Maddison, Bailey to Diaz for -4
    D. Play Neco Williams and hope for an assist against Leicester

Trying to shape my WC, ain’t that core kinda looking boring?

    X/Iversen
    Cancelo/James/Trippier/X/Neco
    Maddison/Zaha/X/X/Pereira
    Haaland/Mitro/Toney

Tough to look past these 3 defenders, really wanna have Maddison and Haaland/Mitro possibly a lock as well. Toney and Zaha could be replaced but they are looking like good picks. Basically down to two mid spots. Thoughts?

Kane (ars) + Bailey (lee) > Toney (bou) + Maddison (NFO) for -4?

If you want to captain Kane, then you have to hold Kane, of course. Personally, I wouldn't captain anyone except Haaland as long as he is fit to play. But, its down to personal choice in my opinion.

    Cancelo - Trippier - Saliba
    KDB - Sterling - Maddison - Martinelli
    Haaland - Mitrovic - Toney

    (Ward, Struijk, Andreas, Neco)

How would you proceed with this team? I am considering saving the FT and reassess (buy Zaha and James) after GW9. Would you bring in James this week? Any ideas on how to do that? Or, shall I go into GW9-12 without Zaha and James?

Thanks. I used my WC long time ago after GW2. Started with big at the back, which was a huge mistake and had to switch to 3-4-3.

For GW12, I have already sold Jesus. I will also upgrade Neco and sell KDB, Cancelo. I will bench Haaland, Martinelli and Saliba.

If fpl towers don’t allow Jesus and Salah to drop in price I feel that the system is potentially crooked

    1. banskt
      • 12 Years
      3 years, 2 months ago

The FPL towers are doing this to increase user engagement. They do a lot of things to pacify the users. For example, they control price changes and often change rules during the season (extra FH last season, roll over WC, cheat code to remove hits this season). It is not necessarily crooked but I agree that it is unfair.

Corruption is a bit different. It is not "illegal" per se. They have the rights to make decisions and change rules. What they are doing is dishonest and unethical, but not illegal. In an ideal scenario, they should release the algorithm for price changes so that the process becomes transparent; and they should stick to the rules of the game, no matter what happens.

Free-hits in blank GW7 were reinstated. They did not make a cut-off time at the time of announcements. So, managers who took a hit could play the FH and revert back to their GW6 team.

"The whole fixture list was cancelled at short notice": Not an excuse for changing the rules during the game.

See above, it is not illegal. I am sure it helped many managers and I really feel good for them. What am I saying is that, changing rules is unethical. There should not be change in rules once the games have started. They can include a new rule from next season: "If 5 or more games are cancelled with less than 7 days notice, bla bla bla will happen". But the rules should be written before the start of the game.

            2. banskt
              • 12 Years
              3 years, 2 months ago

Also note that, if I were in the FPL towers, I would have also done the same thing: change the rules during the game. Because, the objective of the management is to increase user engagement. Fairness of the game is not their priority.

I can't see any of them 3 doing much tbh - I guess Bamford is the most likely if he plays.
