Four more Premier League matches follow hot on the heels of an absorbing Manchester derby.

Brighton and Hove Albion v Liverpool is the headline act, with three bottom-half scraps on the undercard:

Both sides at the Amex are missing notable names today, with Leandro Trossard out of first-team contention for disciplinary reasons and Darwin Nunez joining Liverpool’s ever-growing injury list.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in for Darwin is the Reds’ only alteration from the draw with Wolves in the FA Cup third round. Cody Gakpo makes his first Premier League appearance since his move to Merseyside earlier this month.

As for Brighton, Alexis Mac Allister is handed his first start since winning the World Cup with Argentina. Budget attacking assets Kaoru Mitoma and Evan Ferguson again get the nod, while Pascal Gross is moved to right-back as Joel Veltman is benched.

Nottingham Forest make one change to the side that beat Wolves on penalties to reach the EFL Cup semi-finals, with Scott McKenna coming in for the injured Willy Boly. Taiwo Awoniyi is still sidelined.

Leicester make two changes to the XI beaten by Newcastle in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, as Jamie Vardy and Nampalys Mendy replace the benched Patson Daka and the injured Ayoze Perez.

At Molineux, Hugo Bueno is back in the starting XI after a midweek breather. Nathan Collins, Daniel Podence, Ruben Neves and Matheus Cunha also return after being benched in that weakened EFL Cup line-up.

West Ham make three changes to the side that beat Brentford in the FA Cup last weekend with Aaron Cresswell, Vladimir Coufal and Pablo Fornals replacing Craig Dawson, Ben Johnson and Emerson Palmieri.

Alex Iwobi makes a miraculous recovery to start for Everton, who again ditch the wingers to go 3-5-2/5-3-2 with Demarai Gray alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

A 2-0 cup win over Manchester City hasn’t stopped Southampton boss Nathan Jones from making alterations up top, as Che Adams, Samuel Edozie and Mohamed Elyounoussi come in for Sekou Mara, Adam Armstrong and Moussa Djenepo.

Salah often beasted when Mane didn't play. (Not to downplay Mane's importance to Liverpool at all.)

Klopp has shifted the team too much to attack IMO. Leaves them vulnerable to conceding the first goal, which then makes Liverpool more nervous in attack.

Compare Liverpool front six of Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Henderson, Salah, Firmino, Mane to a front six of Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, Salah, Nunez, Diaz.

You have more attack minded players in Thiago, Nunez, Diaz compared to their previous players. That exposes TAA and Robertson and therefore the CBs, but it also reduces the control of the midfield as you have players who naturally sit higher up the pitch.

It is worse with Elliott instead of Thiago (which was happening earlier in the season).

As an arsenal fan, happy to see Man u win the game but that first goal is offside for me. He runs towards the ball, affects play and then lets it go at the last second. Understand the rules and why but I can't accept that he was not affecting the play there. Still, Love the result.

Correct decision, but the law needs to be tweaked to reflect intended target. It was obvious that Rashford was the intended target and under a better version of the offside law, he would have been given offside.

If an onside player can reach the ball, I don't see why it matters. Bringing intention into doesn't sit right with me, introducing the need to read minds in many cases. Plenty of football is about taking opportunities as they arise, and not all about intention.

In the past, interference was penalised more broadly, including influencing the opponents' decision-making. We've been there and didn't like it. I like this new direction, but can see why it doesn't feel right to people when we've been used to interferance being penalised in general, and a more subjective approach.

I think he's the one competing with Mitoma, then. 0.3m between 'em

But it depends on your attitude to the bench

I personally don't believe points on the bench have any negative impact on the points at the end of the season, especially if the alternative is to have/keep a player with lower potential at around the same price and sell someone you expect to score more

                Just my way, anyway 🙂

In this case, I'll rank the 3 players for points potential as Almirón > = Mitoma > Andreas

So I'm selling Andreas for now

If you feel Andreas outscores Mitoma or Almirón, that's different 🙂

Sure, I get that. It's less about being fussed about points on my bench, and more about not wanting to spend a FT to change a bench player.

Very unsure on them in general of course given where they are in the table, but I'm keeping an eye on JWP. Read that he's been deployed further forward than his usual deep midfield position under Jones and given he's on setpieces and pens he might be an option, Southampton have some decent fixtures
