In this regular article, we look at the latest Fantasy Premier League (FPL) disciplinary situation.

The initial focus is on who is nearing a ban for yellow card accumulation but we also round up which FPL assets are already suspended ahead of Gameweek 32.

A reminder: punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

The table above is taken from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

We have long since passed the cut-off point for five yellow cards, so now the target to avoid is 10 cautions.

WHEN IS EVERY CLUB’S 32ND FIXTURE?

Team32nd fixture falls in…

THE RACE TO (AVOID) 10 BOOKINGS

There are four players at immediate risk of a suspension – and they still include Ivan Toney (£7.7m).

He picked up his ninth booking of the season in Brentford’s win over Southampton in Gameweek 27 but has managed to escape a yellow card in his five subsequent appearances and now only has to get through the Bees’ next game against Aston Villa without a caution in order to avoid that fate.

Nelson Semedo (£5.0m), Cheick Doucoure (£5.0m) and Adam Smith (£4.3m) all remain on nine bookings.

Among the four other players not on nine yellow cards who can still be banned are Andreas Pereira (£4.3m) and Alexis Mac Allister (£5.5m). They’d require two and three successive cautions respectively for that to happen, however.

CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

FPL suspensions: How many matches will Mitrovic miss?

Lucas Moura (£5.8m) and Abdoulaye Doucoure (£5.3m) are out until Gameweek 33, while Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.6m) won’t be available until Gameweek 36 as he serves an eight-match ban.

If you know you are going to probably get a long ban for gambling, you don't really want to 2 games of what you have left this season from a needless yellow card. Motivates you to be a bit more sensible, avoid arguments etc.

I'm now thinking to go with White over Ode and Saka. Could backfire big time? Would probably also mean no Trippier in my FH team but wouldn't expect high scores in that game, or should I...?

Yeah I've done that myself. He's been very attacking of late and you'd fancy a clean sheet (although it's only three home clean sheets all year).

I've opted for Martinelli, White and Jesus

I expect goals between Newcastle and Spurs but mainly for Newcastle, I can see a big reaction from them coming. Still I'm finding avoiding Trippier an easy decision. Still never confident of Arsenal defence but White has been good from an attacking POV for a while, I'm still flirting with getting him over Saka, just not very convinced at all by how uninvolved the latter has been of late and how much of Arsenal's play is currently focused on the left side

White has been immense since I sold him for Gabriel on my WC but I'd still back Odegaard to outscore him v Southampton, Jesus Martinelli Odegaard for me.

*since Jesus was ready to start games after injury and Arteta started his main 3 attackers in Martinelli, Jesus and Saka

Jesus still returning from that lengthy layoff, think Arteta's just being cautious. That being said I think Arsenal needed a change in the last 2 games when those changes were made, I'm just not sure that was exactly what they needed to change

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 10 months ago

Yeah game state and potentially not ready to play 90 could be factors in that. Just thinking does Jesus have the high ceiling if he doesn't play 90 mins

I'm still going to punt on him I think but I do feel it's perhaps in a similar bracket to Haaland, if the game is tied up early he probably will get subbed early but as well in a situation where Arsenal need a change he may be the one to move

    Sa
    Anderson White Moreno
    Bowen Eze Ramsey Martinelli
    Solanke Jesus Watkins (C)
    Johnston Salah TAA Dawson

I've gone form players and players fighting for something in this draft.

Looking at the stats Palace have nearly the most attempts from set plays in the league the last four weeks and Anderson has the most headed attempts for them.

Bournemouth concede from Bowens flank at the second highest rate in the league and West Ham are fighting against relegation. Bournemouth are a team reborn and I fancy goals here.

Villa players pick themselves but also fighting for Europa League.

I might start Salah but for now I am not. They have posted poor stats the past few games. Aren't fighting for anything and I just hate Liverpool (United fan).

Hoping for a big score and to do well for the rest of the season

All good points. But Chelsea are hardly and imperious defence and concede against nearly every team.

Arsenal as well aren't water tight.

Salah is probably off penalties now as well so is he that essential?

Lol timing, see below, it's one of the Arsenal boys for sure unless Salah looks like a different player tonight he's not close for me even with that fixture. Jesus loves the home games and is in form but gets slightly less minutes than Martinelli. Saka has been shocking lately.

I just feel more haul potential in Saka and has something to prove after missing penalty and Arsenal going on to lose 2 points. Sounds like will also still be on penalties reading Arteta’s comments.

Newcastle v Spurs tend to have goals and Newcastle defence not been so solid recently

    FH32 team

    Are you keeping Kane?

Newcastle v Spurs recently had plenty of goals scored. Will it happen again?

Isak - Direct alternative from the same match. Just not sure if he or Wilson will start?
Toney - Starting is assure and having pen duty too. He will meet Villa who are in great form though.
Solanke - If Bournemouth scored, his involvement is very likely. Playing West Ham who could be tired from Europa game.

Kane is so consistent, but one-week punt on Solanke look interesting on FH.

    1. WVA
      • 9 Years

Solanke for me especially as its close and he's much less owned, Kane very unlikely to haul, flat track bully.

I’m fairness, whilst it’s not an invalid stat, that was against the old Newcastle. Bar Saturday, How has improved them dramatically. I’m inclined to go with Solanke. They both played in the same game Saturday. One delivered, one didn’t. Nobody is questioning who is the better player, more who has the form and is primed to deliver this week based on their respective fixtures

        2. WVA
          • 9 Years

Exactly, he is highly likely to get a return but it'll probably just be 1, at most a goal and assist which Solanke could easily match and is much lower owned, I'm only saying it's well worth the gamble on a FH with those fixtures.

So I can get to the below team with a -4 for GW34, do you think it warrants then saving FH for a final day, of GW37 punt. I'm 80 points behind in ML so need to do something drastic to have any chance whatsoever and he will 100% play his FH.

    Ederson
    Estupinan, Coufal, VVD
    Rashford, Mitoma, Bowen, Saka
    Alvarez , Haaland, Darwin

    Raya, Trippier, Maddison, Castagne

Yeah it's this. Definitively noticed it yesterday too, he was barely involved and the only player that tried to link up with him regularly was White, even Odegaard (who had more of the ball yesterday than against Liverpool) regularly bypassed him to play to White or just turned towards the left side, as Jesus did a lot too. Feels like the majority of Arsenal's play is going down that side leaving Saka quite isolated

Those that are planning to WC for GW34 (with no BB), are you doing it in 33 or 34?

I can get out the following team in 33 with 1 FT available too maybe to use on a Villa defender. It feels a bit weak, but I can't see any obvious stand out fixtures/players I'm missing out on.

P.S. I'm asking as it affects my transfer strategy this week (i.e. whether to do Haaland>Jesus or hang on)

    Kepa (BRE)
    Botman(eve) Trippier(eve) Estu (nfo)
Salah (whu) Martinelli (mci) March (nfo) MacAllister (nfo)
Kane (MAN) Watkins (FUL) Haaland (ARS)

    Bench: Raya White Pinnock Odegaard)

Think I might have a cheeky punt on Bobby Dazzler as my 3rd LIV, instead of 2 defs, in FH32.

I don't understand why folks use past H2H results as a reason to pick a player.

I've seen pick Kane because he had had so many goals in the last 6 games against Newcastle. In the last 6 games, Steve Bruce was manager in 4 of them. This is completely different Newcastle team and Spurs are struggling

thats not the sole reason for picking Kane, you know that.
Even in a struggling SPurs side kane is the 2nd highest scorer in fpl this season

Agree. It's nonsense really. H2H stats before current season should be ignored.

You can ignore current season too, to an extent. Not as if the form of the player and/or the teams involved is likely to be the same now as it was in October, say.

Yeah lol, Ramsdale is awful at penalties but he's still young for a keeper and he'll get better. Though sometimes I wish we kept Martinez, which I actually said at the time we should.
