A UEFA Champions League qualification spot and top-flight survival are on the line in tonight’s match at St James’ Park.

Kick-off is at 20:00 BST.

A point or better for Newcastle United ensures a top-four place, while a win for Leicester City takes them above Everton and out of the bottom three.

There’s a bit of a bombshell when it comes to the team news but it doesn’t concern the hosts, who bring back a fit-again Sean Longstaff in place of the injured Joe Willock.

Joelinton also pulled up in the warm-up, so is replaced by Elliot Anderson.

Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson start together again, while Kieran Trippier shrugs off a minor injury to feature.

The real surprise is from the visitors’ camp, with both James Maddison and Harvey Barnes on the bench.

Ricardo Pereira also drops out as Harry Souttar, Luke Thomas and Kelechi Iheanacho come into Dean Smith’s starting XI.

The Foxes are lining up in a wing-back system this evening.

“We decided to change it. We need to be harder to beat. The last couple of games, we have needed lots of goals to win them so we needed to make a change. We picked a team we feel can compete.

“I had to think long and hard about it. Watching the game against Brighton, the first two goals are from set-pieces and I wanted another centre-back in the team.

“They were professional about it. I want them to be disappointed if they’re not paying but they see the bigger picture and understand why.” – Dean Smith on the benchings of James Maddison and Harvey Barnes

I feel like, when I inevitably fall short of the top 10k come 6.15pm on Sunday, that Kane to Isak move in GW34 will probably be the decision that haunts me. That and not making the moves for Wilson last week

It seems Mr Pulpkinhead the FFS team are with you in your criticism of Mark, as my posts challenging your position have been deleted. I am slightly baffled.

He was critical of Mark S suggesting in broad summary his rank made him unworthy to give advice. I challenged him to reveal his ID so his rank was visible (mine is). He suggested that was irrelevant and he was in any event better than me. I acknowledged I was average but suggested if you challenge the expertise of others then you should be open as to your own credentials

I never said most of what you say I said . I made a valid point in why I don't think he is going to be a top level player any more. Fair enough looking back I could have said it in a better way as opposed to what seemed like an attack when I read it back ( although I do stand by my view). I haven't reported your posts and I doubt they are behind me. I wouldn't worry about it

I remember you saying Greenwood should be starting again. What a silly hypocrite.

Loads of your star players have very questionable histories (Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo) and yet you continue to slander Partey who’s never been charged.

Giggs and Rooney don’t play football anymore and I didn’t want Ronaldo back, so maybe don’t assume?

No wonder victims struggle for justice when you still get pillocks spewing garbage like “no charge = innocent”

He wanted out, they had no choice.

        Needed a replacement though.

Your point was that they screwed up selling him. Not replacing him is another matter.

Yeah couldn't believe it when they did that. Wasn't he there captain too?

And then they didn't buy a new goalkeeper. The club has been it's own undoing this season.

I suspect you'd argue it was whoever was responsible for the wage structure such that they had to get rid of Kasper but couldn't get a replacement or any other improvements in

Good comment, great keeper....but gave so much more to the team..very strange decision in getting rid - as the saying goes "you reap, what you sow"

Leaving Danny Ward as your first choice for more than half a season was always going to end badly.

      League one keeper.

Kasper is a toxic clown, as you can see with his new team.

Luck is on Leicester's side, should be 3 or 4 down

Thought Isak could bag against leaky Leicester but I definitely should have just made the Alvarez move

Should've scored that chance, the idiot. At least he hasn't come off, though...yet!

And I thought Wilson would too, but he fancies missing every shot today.

Really need 9 or 12-pointer out of Tripps. Guy behind me in biggest money league FH'd him out this GW.

No. Still better than Ward though.

On a scale of Ederson to De Gea, he is closer to De Gea.
