Disaster week with 33 points...out of 4m now, not sure how much I can cover from here...

    Pickford
    Botman Estu Cash
    Salah Saka Sterling Doku Rashford
    Haaland Morris

    A) Sterling + Doku > Maddison + Eze for -4
    B) Sterling + Doku + Saka > Maddison + Eze + Son for -8
    C) Saka + Sterling > Son + Bowen for -4
    D) Wildcard this mess right away

I'd wildcard that and have some fun. I had to emergency wildcard week 2 this season due to injuries and it has worked out really well. Just had to plan ahead a fair bit with it

D and build around Haalabd, Salah, Saka, Cash. There’s still a small margin of points separating you from 1m. I managed to claw from 5.5m last season to top 100k so it’s not as big a hill as it looks, keep plugging away.

f Saka is out for just this GW I could do Bruno and Semenyo to Watkins and Palmer (-4) and have a decent fixture this GW to play Palmer in before hopefully Saka returns.

Thoughts on Palmer as an 8th attacker?

I don’t know, you’d be keeping a lot of those outfield players… do you have two FT or maybe just a hit to make some defensive moves, Botman to Schar, Estu to Andersen, Pinnock to Porro. Wildcarding to just get to Tripps seems a waste.

I'd take a hit or two and improve the defence if you have a much better time in mind to deploy the WC later.

Morning all, don't post these too often but a bit unsure of how to proceed.

    2FT 0.1itb

    Leno
    Andersen Udogie Colwill
    Saka* Maddison Son Salah Diaby
    Haaland Alvarez
    (Turner Botman* Kabore Osula)

Was planning on rolling one FT into the IB but I'm wondering if I may need to use both this week. Planned to hold Saka but I'm beginning to think these issues he keeps having may be bigger than they seem so I may need to move him on. I'm wary of Howe saying Botman is out until after the IB but him repeating it yesterday is making me think he might be telling the truth here. Even before injury concerns I had no obvious plan, anything stand out?

Imagine owning a player which is going to be flagged every week. Had enough of it now but if you watch Arteta's post match comments you can see he is a liar.

One of two things are happening, either Saka and Arteta are playing mind games with Pep and has now backfired or Saka really has serious fitness issues and the longer himself and Arteta ignore it, the worse it is going to get and only takes one match for the issues to become long term.

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)

This weekend definitely makes it more complicated, if these last few weeks didn't have games v Spurs and City alongside a CL tie I think he'd be upfront about him but I doubt we'll hear anything direct from him if he thinks Saka will be out. Thing is there's the IB around the corner so if Arteta can pull Saka out of that the break may be what he needs so I'm torn. Selling could end up being a big waste of 2FTs

Morning Nate, yes I too think Howe is telling the truth about Botman back after IB. A trusted newcastle source on twitter also said as it stands Botman not responded well to treatment and knee is still swollen up. Plenty of time during IB to recover but the source said as it stands he wouldn’t make Palace.

I have no Spurs so I’m looking at the double switch to Porro and Son/Maddison for a -4.

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)

Ah I didn't know that, cheers for the info. Maybe I should just hold out hope for Saka and just deal with Botman then, if he's out this weekend then there's 2 weeks until the next game so he might be fine if it's a smaller issue and he gets to rest over the IB

Your moves sound solid, been tempted to look at doing a sideways move of Udogie to Porro myself, he was brilliant v Arsenal in particular I thought. But an article here from a few a days ago said Luton concede a lot of chances on Udogie's side and to be fair he had to defend against Saka followed by Salah so he was always going to have a rough couple of games

    3. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

Your cover for Botman looks fine this week & the rest of your squad in good shape so I think you could potentially deal with Saka & roll the other. Although I had my uncertainties/regrets about the short-term hop off it does seem to be looking more justified now. The only thing is there isn't really a standout 4 GW replacement if you were to tentatively plan to buy him back after Newcastle. Spurs, Villa & Pool clearly have the best fixtures so maybe you could consider a Diaz or D. Luiz punt? Or perhaps you could go 343 for a few weeks with Darwin/Watkins, with Luiz / similar budget mid as 1st bench cover (i.e. Saka & Osula - Luiz & Watkins)? (The latter is my plan B if I keep Diaz over Salah and use Gordon in a similar way since I have a few more fitness doubts especially Darwin & Diaby)

I was convinced with this team I should be able to hold WC until GW10. But with Saka situation and only Estupinan on the bench (FT used), would you trigger WC now?

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Trippier Udogie Cash (Estupinan Botman*)
    Maddison Son Diaby Bruno Saka*
    Haaland Alvarez (Osula*)

Definite no for me, the core of your team is very solid. Given your injury issues you'll probably have to hang onto Bruno for another week but I'd ship Botman or Saka for a hit if you feel you need the cover this week

If you think now is the time to WC then go for it, but if you think you'll gain more from it later down the line then I'd 100% hold. Red arrows in weeks like this suck but have to think of the gains you can make long-term when others will be scrambling to bring in players you'll be able to get to more easily

The original plan was to roll transfer this week and move Saka and Rashford to Diaby and Salah in GW9, but the Eze and Saka injuries complicate my situation.
I am not keen to use wildcard for now, considering:
    1) move Eze to Diaby in GW8 and then Rashy + Saka -> Ward-Prowse + Salah (-4) in GW9
    2) same as 1, but move Saka to Diaby in GW8
    3) move Saka to Son in GW8 and then Eze -> Gordon/Ward-Prowse in GW9, Rashy -> Saka in GW10
    4) Something else?

    Leno (areola)
    Botman, cash, udogie (estu, gusto)

    Haaland, Alvarez (archer)

    A. Rash and archer to bowen and Watkins play 343
    B. Rash and mbuemo to Salah and Gordon 352

Botman can probably be saved transfer as sounds like he is back soon.
Saka is a season keeper (unless it's official he has a long term injury)

    Areola (3.9)

    Cash - Udogie - Burn (Mitchell - C. Taylor)
Salah - Son - Maddison - Diaby (Chuk)
    Watkins - Alvarez - Haaland

good but the limitations changing your midfield could backfire.

Playing Trippier… would you start JWP or Archer?

I'm going JWP, but I also have Leno in goal.

Despite that 2 minute mess on Monday, Fulham still have best CS odds :s

Probably have Estupinan in your team for GW10 onwards so a cheap defender to cover 8-9 in Burn or Udogie

Those 2 plus a low price rotation using 2 x 4.5 and 1 x 4. Does not often work but who knows who scores in this uncertain environment.

    Areola

    Cash/Porro/Tripp

    Salah/Son/Bowen/Diaby/Neto

    Watkins/Haaland

Would this work on a wc?

My tv is low especially trying to get Salah in

No bench? Want to be forced to play these 11 every GW? No itb to fix fires?
Not for me. I couldn't stretch to get Salah and I do think the 3 something others you sacrife to get him will combined outscore Salah

Bench all fodder tbh. Havnt hit the button yet but having a terrible few wks with the likes of Chilwell/Onana/Rash and sterling and have fallen 85 pts behind ml leader.

Only reason I'm trying to get Salah is to claw back those points

Nice team. Your TV can't be too low if you can afford that!
