Mine pleasure! Is there a feeder league below the Hall of Shame? I'm heading for that on current form.

How come Palace got smashed up yesterday? Thought they were more solid than that and was considering selling Son next week

An off day for Palace, plus Newcastle are just playing really well at the moment - this is team that tore PSG to shreds.

Tripps was tearing it up down the right.

Their results have been consistently inconsistent in last 9 games. Expect them to show up strong against Spurs.

Palace were dreadful. Newcastle are strong, especially at home. Trippier, Longstaff and Murphy had a field day on the right. Schar had loads of space to step into midfield. 4-0 flattered Palace. Fair play to the Palace supporters who stayed to the end and cheered their team winning a few corners at the end.

          just switch off till Friday.

you can play a FPL light approach and with the Team News article you don't need to track it day to day if you're not enjoying it.

it twists and turns week to week anyhow.

          best of luck ...

No one can have a successful season every year. I had a poor season last year and only ranked 2.2m just now but loads of time to make up the ranks.

You can post your team if you want .

Ranks are still far too squeezed for that - you're over focussing on rank too early. I know how you feel as I felt the same week before last. I dropped from 960k to 2.6 million in one week. Then from 2.6 million to 850k the next week and current 400k this week. Swings are massive week to week so stick with it

    6. Hairy Potter

Unfortunately, I think Salah needs to be a priority with upcoming fixtures. Maybe look to correct that, steady the ship and look for other differentials. Then see where you're at by Christmas? Ranks are still tightly bunched and a good week can see big rank gains

    7. Scapegoat Salah
      • 9 Years
      2 years, 2 months ago

Yeah Salah has been devastating, the problem with him is he nearly always plays 90.
If he was prone to more early subs he’d have probably blanked or scored 1 max yesterday with little to no BAPS.

Players like him and Saka just become more important with the 5 subs now in place.
No Haaland teams defo winning atm (as they would have capped Salah past 2)

Try to play tongue in cheek serious, like me - doesn’t bother me as much anymore

Unlucky mate, plenty of time to go though. I was 3.8m after GW2 and am just outside 100k now (after starting the week at 63k) so plenty of ground can be made up. At the end of the day it's pretty much all luck though, it's a game and one that we have no real control over. If I end up sticking around this rank (which I don't expect) I'm not going to say or feel like I'm "good" at FPL because I'm not really sure that's really a thing no matter how much you hear it. I do think you can be bad at it, sure, but I've seen loads of people here just have some rotten luck. It'll turn

      Hi Mate.

Sorry you feel that way. The advice you give on here is always sound, and well thought out. It's clear to me that you know your stuff!!

I'm guessing your team doesn't reflect this currently, but knowing a little about your thought process you've just been unlucky. I regularly read on here about teams that have jumped 1 or 2 million places in a couple of weeks - you can also do this and my only advice to you would be don't quit and keep playing the game your way.

Just looked at your team in more detail. You have a great squad. I'd roll the transfer this week and try and switch off for a few days.
Long term to get Salah I'd look to downgrade Diaby and / or Darwin. You have Gordon already who's a great 4th or 5th midfielder, so I'd bring in a really cheap playing midfielder or forward then you could upgrade Maddison to Salah, If you need more funds I'd downgrade one of your keepers.
Hope this helps but in summary I'd do nothing this week and reassess next week.

If you're typically making decisions with good reasoning, it will avaerage out.

Despite the large rank number points still aren't crazily wide right now. You just need a good stretch.

There's opportunity soon given a few other viable players open up away from the GW8ish template.

      Good luck.

I was OR 4M after GW18 last season. I ended up at 208k ( admittedly not great ) but the second half of the season was proper fun because I played it to enjoy it. Its only an online game and as such it shouldn't be a life priority. Family & friends come first by a distance. Keep your chin up

The article gets it all wrong in the last part. Sanchez didn’t really “lay a ball on plate” for Rice, as he still had to score a 25m screamer.

The penalty was caused by Saliba, not Gabriel.

Even as a club though, the ground is amazing, you're generating so much revenue from different channels, in the long run your club will see it pay off. Your club is actually run really well (from a business perspective) to the point where Levy gets the flack but at all other clubs is the owners not the Charimen/CEOs that get the stick!

Thank you. Conflicted with today's game being a hammer, but what a weekend so far.

Exactly this. It’s easy to be cynical to people’s good fortune but we’re all trying to get a bit of joy from this game away from the day to day drudge.

Bowen, just. Depends what you'd do with the extra money from Mitoma as well though. That's the difference in a Branthwaite or Burn for example.

I like seven of Bowen's next eight, where as I only like five of Mitoma's next eight.

I THINK, I might have the luxury of using a free transfer this week to make an usually weird transfer by swapping some fodder but wanted some opinions please. With that being said, unsure how long I keep this Doku experiment running (I think he looks so dangerous and once he figures out how to make a pass - which shouldn't take long at City - he'll be raking in the points).

    Areola
    Trippier, Burn, Cash, Udogie
    Salah (c), Maddison, Diaby, Doku
    Haaland, Alvarez

    Flekken, Mbeumo, Archer, Gusto

100% this. I can't believe I lost Watkins on my wildcard and it's left me reeling until this week where I've made a bit of a recovery.

You have a great week and I would literally make these moves in your position. It's a shame it doesn't allow you to get to Watkins but Hoijland looks very good and has been very unlucky not to score yet. Utd not bad fixtures just now too

I think Trippier is enough for next GW, and generally to play just three defenders a week. If I was in your position, given upcoming fixtures, Mbeumo to Mitoma, playing the latter over Burn or Udogie.

I thought that this week but Burn's six points staring at me on the bench because I didn't want to be an overly positive West Ham fan who benched Cash in case we bottle it this weekend. Mbeumo to Mitoma isn't a bad shout at all though

Can anyone enlighten me on how Mitoma and Brighton in general have been playing? I haven't seen enough of them recently, been looking at getting Mitoma in this week but I'm getting a bit unsure if I should still target a move for him and Nunez or if I ought to maybe just go with Bowen.

Looking at Mitoma's stats it seems like he's still doing OK, still taking on shots regularly enough, xGI seems decent, still attempting a lot of take-ons and solid progressive carries. Still he's only returned in 4 games so far (two of which were 5 pointers), and I'm a bit worried about the huge rotation for Brighton yesterday (and potentially in most weeks around EL games in particular) affecting his potential output. My gut last week was Bowen and I think it's still the same but it locks me out of Nunez, so I thought Mitoma + Nunez for 3 weeks would be best (given Brighton and West Ham's respective fixtures) and I'd reassess then. But I wonder if I should rethink.

    1. Zenith UK
      • 9 Years

He could've had a brace against City yesterday. I'd recommend flicking on MoTD at least for that game to watch it back and he does appear to be Brighton's talisman so to speak.

Regarding Darwin, the fella has more than sixty minutes twice this season, it's too much of a punt for me personally so I wouldn't mind having Bowen and being priced out of Darwin. Weird thing is, I don't know who I'd lose for Bowen even though I can afford him. Maybe Mbeumo.

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
        • 5 Years

Cheers mate. I always catch up with MOTD at some stage each week as well as extended highlights in cases like these so I'll see how I go. I know things with Nunez are risky but I still feel it's a worthwhile risk especially with him linking up with Salah well this season but I am still getting warier of it

    2. AIRMILES
      • 14 Years

I've just seen the MCI-BHA match on MOTD, and Mitoma put himself in a couple of good goalscoring opportunities. I've also been planning to do Maddison to Bowen this week, but Mitoma is definitely an reasonable choice.

Any advice for this wild card?

    Areola
    Trippier - Udogie - Lascelles
    Salah - Saka - Mitoma - Bowen
    Haaland - Watkins - Alvarez

Bench: Turner - Anderson -Taylor - Guehi

*Lascelles is a short term punt and will make way for Guehi, who has nice fixtures from GW11-15

I think the bench leaves you stuck personally. I made a WC the other day where I backed Martinelli over Saka purely for that extra money in the bank which could make Anderson someone like Cole Palmer or Lascelles could be Burn. Not a fan of no Maddison or Son. Love the front three though.

Neto and Dalot stand out negatively here

I'd suggest Areola and Coufal over both

I see some other differentials where the popular alternatives are doing better... Say, Saka over Martinelli, Son (captaincy option) over Darwin (not nailed, not a captain over Salah), Archer as a cheaper sub over Palmer... Or Foster with his surprising rate of returns, but playing 3-5-2 most weeks

Don't like the GKs. Has to be Areola for me.
Dalot should be Burn, double up will most likely be worth it and if not he's that fodder price regardless
Don't need triple AVL imo. No need for Diaby and Watkins. Maddison missing?

    On WC:

    A: Mitoma & Archer
    B: Diaby & Mubama

I already have Watkins & Cash.

FFS can't decide. Cannot have them both so who to pick ?

Saka or trippier. Cheers a lot 🙂

Trippier for me. Consider Martinelli who is £7.7m

Trippier is the only defender who you might class as 'essential' whereas Saka is in a cluster with loads of other good midfielders

Could only afford a 5.8 mid unfortunately

    RMWC .
    Areola (Turner)
Cash Burn Gabriel ( Lascelles Taylor)
    Salah Son Saka Mitoma (Anderson)
    Alvarez Haaland Watinks

Looks fine but the bench is basically a dead bench in a few weeks when Botman returns. Anderson not really nailed, Taylor not sure if he's nailed but wouldn't want him near the team anyway.

      I’d rather Trippier than Watinks.

A fair few lucky goals yesterday.

Including that first one for Newcastle ... he looks like he's chipping it back into the box rather than shooting.
