Is it worth taking a -4 to get Son or Richarlison for free?

I would say take Rich because
      1) he's up front
      2) you'll have to replace Son in 4 games' time (np if you plan to use your WC)

I was in similar position but I decided to leave it and find another way. Too many injuries of late and still have Europen games and possibly more rotation to go properly best saving the transfer as long as possible

    Hello,

Really need some help here, 0FTs, 1.7 itb

    Areola* Johnstone*
    Trippier* Gabriel Saliba Maguire Lamptey*
    Saka Salah Bowen Adingra Anderson*
    Haaland* Alvarez Solanke

Wait for news on Haaland and then decide?
If Haaland is out, Haaland + Anderson > Watkins + Son worth it?

There's no doubt in my mind Haaland is missing the Palace game. I watched the Guardiola presser, He clearly says not Palace hopefully for Saudi. Don't delude yourself in thinking Haaland will play this weekend.

I'm gonna guess this "not" you picked up is a mishearing of:

"hopefully can be ready against Crystal Palace, if not then Saudi Arabia."

“We will see. Maybe Crystal Palace [he] is ready, I don’t know… I don’t think so but maybe. We will see.” – Pep Guardiola

The issue is Pep speaks as he thinks in circles so it's often both sides ...

            • 7 Years

Yes, this is what I've seen about what Pep said

This is very different from what Greg Frost heard

"He clearly says not Palace hopefully for Saudi" goes against all the reports I've seen

      3. _Greg

“We will see. Maybe Crystal Palace [he] is ready, I don’t know… I don’t think so but maybe. We will see.” – Pep Guardiola

he concluded i don't think so but leaves the door open.

he's not likely to travel to Serbia as Man City have qualified so it's going to be a Pep guessing game.

probably better to act on it now with a blank to follow.

no Haaland teams have been winning recently too.

It's not a guessing game when we'll have at least two more press conferences before the weekend

This is like Bowen all over again: it's not an injury, just a niggle that needs to clear up for him to play freely

If Pep is still murky about it in his Friday presser, then maybe

I don't get the rush before that

There are also two more press conferences before the Palace game, and lots of training until then

He's already walking without pain, and it's a bruise/stress not an injury. If he's definitely out for Palace, we'll find out before the deadline

That's team-specific and will require hits for me to gain anything from it

If Haaland is out, I'll probably just get Solanke and then return to Haaland when he returns

I see no rush to do this before the Friday presser though. There's nobody who'll truly become out of reach when it's Haaland you're selling, especially if you plan to redistribute funds

City aren't leading the league by some margin

They aren't leading the league at all

Every game is important, and definitely more important than the Club World Cup

But that doesn't change the fact of what Pep said. You said Pep ruled him out. Bring any other source of this: "He clearly says not Palace hopefully for Saudi"

I was trying to politely think of how to word this exact point.

These cleansheet odds (especially this season) seem to far removed from reality that not sure it's worth using them.

What would be really interesting would be doing an analysis on each band of percentage to an overall predictability.

So take every team that had a 40-49% chance of a cleansheet before the game and see if those games ended in a cleansheet 40-49% of the time. Then repeat this for each 10% band from 0 to 100

With a big enough same size you'd want the numbers to match, but I doubt they'd be anywhere close.

        1. Eze Really?
          • 11 Years
          1 year, 12 months ago

Take your 3/4 defenders, and multiply the percentages by 1.2 3 4 and work out roughly what the chances are. Apart from favoring the bookies, one soon realizes; don't chase clean sheets.
On top of that there are more than 5 options per team that reduces real points gains. Go for attackers or cheapest

Bookies odds are based on market persception rather than likelihood and the market is wrong. The market thinks the traditional big six are the best teams.

You need to factor by team. United have about a 10% increase due to size.

Smart money is for betting against United in the longterm.

Assuming Haaland is out, looks like I may struggle to field 11 at present. Trippier/Taylor Suspended. Cash lost his place. Sanchez potentially injured.

    A) Cash to Porro
    B) Haaland to Solanke
    C) other?

    Sanchez*
    Saliba Tsimikas Cash
    Salah Son Palmer Gordon
    Haaland* Alvarez Watkins

    Turner McAtee Trippier* Taylor*

So tempted to sell Trips. Away game at Luton but it's away and they are awful

    Great game at Forest home

Then a bit of a tough run.

Would save me playing Maguire. We will have plenty of money to get him back soon enough with Salah and Son out for a few gws . Thoughts ?

Not sure if this will be deleted or not, hopefully not though its 100% FPL related and crafted by two FPL obsessed friends, it's filled to the brim with over 70 Premier League icons who've dominated FPL. ⚽

Got Porro in before the price rise last night. Any hits needed? Still have WC and was saving it for GW20.

    Areola
    Porro - Saliba - Tsimi
    Salah - Gordon - Bowen - Son - Palmer
    Haaland - Alvarez

    Turner - Archer - Trippier - Taylor

Would probably do Haaland -> Watkins (-4)
Then use 1 FT next GW to improve for GW18 / GW19 before WC Haaland back

Thanks. Makes sense. I'll hold off until later in the week in case we have more info and when the Euro games are out of the way. You think Watkins is a better pick than Solanke for the next three?

Anyone else have a feeling that Haarland is having a rest! An will be back for the palace game?

I’m wanting to get Watkins in… but unsure if to take out Alvarez or Haarland. Ive got the money to do Alvarez to Watkins but will be priced out if and when Watkins rises!!!
