Cash. Guehi more nailed on. Looking like Palace have more CS potential than Villa but Villa improving in that regard.

If Pau is injured its more likely we will play two the two right-side CBs (Konsa/Carlos) than bring in Lenglet to cover Pau - if so Cash will be RB as no other option.

If everyone is available, think Cash could drop out, he was poor as a winger, again

Bailey has slightly better fixtures, but Bowen is much more nailed and seems to deliver more consistently. But I would go either one over Gordon atm.

Luton seem to be very difficult to play against away, so not sure it is worth it. I have Dubravka and Lascelles, not so sure they keep a CS even.

What's everyone's plan with Salah and Son?
Was planning on selling both to get Haaland back but just realised I'd lose 0.4m on Salah and 0.3m on Son. That's quite the drop needed in a few weeks especially if they go out of their tournaments early. Not a great idea to keep that much value on the bench and playing the likes of Archer either.

I am going to wait and see who the template picks are and go for them. Both will lose value as everybody will sell and then the template picks will go up too as everybody will buy them

Yeah you could be right with the replacement players going up but with everyone dumping Salah and Son after game week 20 there's not going to be a constant stream of sales afterwards so I'm not sure there will be a big drop in value.

        1. The Big Fella
          • 9 Years
          1 year, 11 months ago

Perhaps. The thing is, I got Salah at 12.5 and son at 9.1 so the value I would lose is immense. I may just keep on the bench and hope for the best. Egypt will probably do well. Korea not so sure.

            • 10 Years

Egypt usually do well and I thought S. Korea would be better odds, but it looks like both aren't exactly tipped to go all the way.
Might just be a case of sell one and benching the other.

This is a nice post thanks. I may just hold to be honest. I can’t afford to get them back in unless they 1) drop a lot and 2) their replacements rise a lot and I’ll want them for the rest of the season.

Think I can stomach a 0.1-0.2 loss on Son maybe, but like you say they are both season keepers so probably not worth the risk for what could be as little as a week or two.

Egypt's third group game on 22nd. Korea 3rd group game is 25th. Very unlikely but possibly one or both could be out then and the only gameweek they would both be out then and only miss GW21.

That's the risk. Personally think both will qualify looking at the groups but you never know with football. Then the next round is a bit of a lottery as to who they get drawn against.

        1. GreennRed
          • 14 Years

Very depends who you get for one or either. Money on bench with them or cash in the bank selling them only has value if you win points. Someone one like Lewis Potter or other cheap as chips player could step up with teammates absent and do a Palmer on the points. Many will equate price with value and stick returning De Bruyne in there, not match fit, while some 5-6m mid will outpoint him for the 4 or 5 weeks he's getting up to speed.

Suspect lots will be moving to Richarlison and Kulu. Thing is if we're relying on budget midfielders is would be no problem but the budget striker options are limited. 5 at the back could be the way to go.

      My 3 ML Rivals:
Player A) Why did they take the 3 point bonus from Solanki? Makes me angry! He has Gordon 1st bench.
Player B) It is so wrong allowing Solanki to get points! He does not own him?
Player C) I don't care 1 way or the other. I am thinking of poor Lockyer. He has Solanki with Palmer 1st bench.
Do you think they have self interest interfering with their thought patterns?

Is it possible that Premier League elite athletes are more injury-prone because VAR delays in games have them standing in the cold for a few minutes and games are taking a lot longer to finish because of VAR, players trying to break up momentum, Martinez Maupay stand up sit-down comedy routines, etc? Heard a 606 caller, on a bit of a rant, complaining about the delays causing injuries. He sounded a bit tapped but might have a point?

I was thinking the other day about how they don’t warm down either. Someone gets subbed and straight to the bench. Most sports I know of have a warm and warm down.

No they will have been advised to keep their muscles warm by the sports scientists if that was the case . Standing for a few minutes won't make much difference. If you think about it boxers have breaks and sit down between rounds. So do Tennis players between sets n In fact if anything it's probably a good thing they get a few minutes break is probably good

A few minutes should be ok. A time limit for VAR observation should be really helpful for this purpose.

This is exactly my question for this week too.

Liverpool have excellent home records. Scored 21 and conceded 5.
      They kept 5 CS from 8 games which resulted : W 7 D 1 L 0

Arsenal have excellent away records though. Score 13 and conceded 7.
      They kept 4 CS from 8 games which resulted : W 5 D 1 L 2

Like Tsimi set-play duty, but also think about aerial goal threat of Gabriel too.

      Can't decide yet.

      Same decision

in these situations I tend to go for the home player unless the bookies CS odds throw smething up

If you could only have one Saka or Son?

Son, Saka just not looking as talismanic as last season.

Won't be an issue in 3 weeks anyway when Son departs for Asian Cup.

    Which transfer should I do:
    1) alvarez to watkins, play darwin, bench pau.
    2) darwin to watkins, keep alvarez, play pau.

Pau got injured. Monitor the press and his condition might make a decision for you.

    Early thoughts

    Team is

    Dubravka (Areola)
    Porro Lascelles Tsmikas (Gabriel Maguire)
    Salah Son Saka Palmer Gordon
    Darwin Watkins (Archer)

    Thinking:

    A. Roll
    B. Maguire to Pau and bench Tsmikas
    C. Darwin to Solanke

All options leave enough cash for Darwin/Solanke to Haaland in one move if fit for 19

    Thoughts?

Pau would be Konsa if Pau is injured

So if pau is injured? No chance of cash to start?

    Dubravka Areola
    Porro Gabriel Tsimikas Branthwaite Lascelles
    Salah Son Saka Palmer Nakamba
    Haaland Watkins Alvarez

    1ft
    1.8 itb

    A) Nakamba to Gordon
    B) Alvarez to Solanke

A would give me squad depth but I would probably be benching Alvarez a lot, lot of money on the bench

Can't afford both for a hit

    Cheers

I feel navigating the xmas fixtures you'll need a strong bench, as rotation will be a big part of the set of matches. Suspension and injuries will come into play as well.

Heed this. I was coasting by with a crap bench, thinking even if my players get rotated I can't predict it & they'll sub on anyway - but this really caught up to me last week with suspensions & injuries hitting simultaneously forcing a big hit
