    Which one to bench?
Foden, Saka, Richarlison, Jota, Palmer, Watkins, Joao Pedro, Toney?

After the debacle of benching Palmer over Solanke last week I'm trying to avoid having a front 8 like this.

      Toney or Pedro for me.

TAA* Cash Gab Mengi, Van Hecke
        Salah* Bowen* Palmer Gordon Saka
        Jesus* Watkins Usula

Waiting for Haaland - ideally TAA/Bowen out to fund. Not enough £ to keep both

Is it worth selling TAA or Son for a hit? Currently counting on Taylor to have a starting XI... Thinking maybe Son to Diaz as a differential

Sure the extra added time is a factor in there being less clean sheets, but VAR, injuries, the increasing number of fixtures with more sides in Europe and teams now making more errors when playing out from the back all contributing too.

Can Brighton be trusted? They are about to go on a lovely run and I’m strongly considering bringing in two of their assets this week in Gross and Estupinan. It still doesn’t sit right with me for some reason.

    1. The Big Fella
      • 9 Years

I think Gross is a trap. For defenders, nobody is keeping clean sheets this season so might as well bring in players who get attacking returns and Estupiñan is one of them

Congrats on getting there early! I did this with Bowen, Neto and Gordon this season. It’s satisfying. I don’t think he will keep it up. I’ve had Gross in the past and he is frustrating to own. Now everybody is bringing him in he will troll everybody and start blanking. Could be wrong of course but I’m steering clear

Brighton are Jekyl and Hyde. Jekyl is Brighton at the start of the season winning 5 of their first 6 games and scoring bucket loads of goals. Hyde is Brighton when they had a good run of fixtures starting in GW10 they drew with Fulham, Everton and Sheff Utd and they weren't great. There have been glimpses of Jekyl in the Spurs game but then glimpses of Hyde in the Palace and West Ham games which sandwiched it. Are you buying Jekyl or Hyde versions of Brighton? You may get a bit of both but you're right to be wary imo.

I’m looking at the same moves. Great underlying stats from both.

Don’t over think it. It in 6 weeks they got injured or didn’t do much, it’s still a good move

    How ballsy is this WC?

Enough ITB to do straight swaps (Porro, Richarlison, Foden, Toney -> TAA, Son, Salah, Haaland)

    Ederson
    Estupinan - E.Palmieri - Doughty
    Saka - Foden - Richarlison - Palmer
    Toney - Solanke - J. Pedro

    (Dubravka, Porro, Taylor*, Kluivert)

With City looking likely to have a DGW in 25 I think Ederson could be a shrewd pick. He will also play in GW26.

Palmieri is since I am going no Areola due to Ederson. Still need a cheapie with decent fixtures right in front of me.

        It's 3 out of Watkins/Solanke/Toney/J. Pedro.

        1. HashAttack
          • 8 Years

I got Ederson on wc20 but would now prefer to have Allison instead so that I can get e.g. Walker. (Assuming Liverpool also get dgw25 but blank gw26)

        2. Make FPL Casual Again
          • 7 Years
          2 years, 25 days ago

Have Neto instead for dgw, Eder could work but continue to leak odd goals

Front 3 is tough, Pedro only one stand out gw recently, blanks otherwise; prefer other 3 forwards if budget allows...

          1. Salarrivederci
            • 9 Years
            2 years, 25 days ago

            Thanks.

            Could go:
            Neto - Areola
            Porro - Walker - Estupinan - Doughty - Taylor
            Saka - Foden - Gross - Palmer - Kluivert
            Watkins - Toney - Solanke

Then I could do Toney, Porro & Foden -> Haaland, TAA & Salah.

            Would bench:
            Neto, Walker, Taylor, Kluivert

            In this GW

            1. Salarrivederci
              • 9 Years
              2 years, 25 days ago

Or maybe just staying on Dubravka instead of Neto, and then go Garnacho > Kluivert.

Would be better in GW25/GW26. If Liverpool and Chelsea are through I would 'only' have Doughty, Palmer, TAA & Salah not playing.

If Chelsea gets knocked out I would have XI.

So the no Spurs route might be decent.

              Porro -> TAA for GW24/GW25

Saudis booing the legend Toni Kroos whenever he touches the ball in the Madrid derby only because Kroos said some facts like players go there for money. These Saudi league fans should first learn how to respect the legends then they can think about becoming a world class league

    Salah or Son to

    Foden or Saka.

KDB and EH on the mend has me leaning Saka but no doubting Foden and City form. Surely Saka will give better than first half of season yes?

Get Foden - City have momentum and are free-scoring, Arsenal struggling to score is worrying as a Saka owner

Think most people have Saka already tbh

Worth -4 to sell Bowen for Foden or Jota?

      Or just play Gordon?

Definitely play Gordon, returned in every home game bar one this season

With Núñez coming on, Leno is about to rack up some save points!

Nah, he can spark up a cigar now. Ball won't come near him.

Journo reckons a month long injury for Bowan. That was one early transfer that didn’t work out

Interesting. Simon 'Fraud' Stone on BBC didn't commit to much detail earlier but suggestion seemed to be it could be less.

"Meanwhile, Bowen is also set to miss a couple of games after being helped off the pitch with an ankle problem on Sunday.
While the damage is not as extensive as initially feared, Bowen is expected to miss the replay with Bristol City at Ashton Gate on 16 January and is unlikely to be fit for the Premier League trip to Sheffield United the following weekend."

FA Cup 4th round takes place before GW22 so could be helpful if Bowen makes bench or plays

He'd have to be on the bench as a minimum to be in contention to start GW22, you'd think, as that's midweek after that FA Cup weekend (albeit on the Thursday).

From the WHU forum, may be BS but:

"Just heard from a pretty reliable source that it is torn ligaments and is likely out for 3 months.

*Happy to provide source to any mods."

      another poster:

"Three months at least is what my red hot source has told me.

Would be ideal if my mate on the medical team hadn’t turned traitor and moved to a so called bigger club a year or so ago, unfortunately my current “source” is slightly less well connected on such matters.

(But she did message me earlier: “omg Bowen out for at least three months ligaments!!”. Hopefully the “at least” part is just her being her, which is possible)"

That really would put the cat among the pigeons, much worse than thus far suggested.

Unless this came from earlier when the suggestions were that the scan results were not good, and since (per Stone) "the damage is not as extensive as initially feared".

I'd be bricking it if I had him in my team, anyway.

Yeah Leno is going to clean here and then concede 4 and get a YC when I play him against Chelsea.

Any bench cover? Reckon a -4 would suffice this week if you can field 11

Same here plus another two who are no longer starters. 12 point hit for me (it's only a -6 really).

Same 4 with Taylor flagged also, I’m using 2ft and taking a -4 potentially
