The rules are clear on this Rusty -

"Those who did manage to progress will join three previous winners, and any previous runners-up who aren't tightwads and have paid for membership, who, by registering, received a bye into the first round."

Or get Salah and Palmer -4, wait one more week/longer with WC?

There was mention FPL Harry posted on YT live stream that Saka was out for 3 months. This was posted by someone impersonating him.

Saka has been carrying an injury for a long time and should be fine for City.

"Newcastle are back on song at home." - are you basing this on the 3-0 win against a depleted Wolves attack?

No Botman and still relying on Dubravka is an issue for Newcastle defence imo

Looking at the fixtures over the next 7 games, would you prefer to have Foden or Maddison?

Even ignoring the blank in gw34 up until gw36 it looks to me that Man City have far the best run.

That takes into account Arsenal and Luton up next.

So he could be rotated but 8 can afford to bench one decent attacking player.

Those who have used their WC already, are you opening towards Fh34 / BB 37 or BB34 / FH 37

Whilst I think the former seems more popular I wonder if the latter is best given end of season rotation for clubs with nothing to play for?

    1. Davemc23

FH 34 makes the most sense imo. I've brought forward the WC to this week after the fixture announcement. I figure free transfers can sort out any issues that arise for BB37, e.g - pope return to fitness

The challenge is the teams that double in 34 are different to 35/36 and 37.

    Ederson Petrovic
    Porro Lacelles Gusto VanHecke Gabriel
    Salah Son Richarlison Palmer Gordon
    Isak Darwin Håland

Will go for 15 DGW players in GW37. Probably Gabriel to Estupinan if nailed, Salah to Foden/KdB and Darwin to Højlund.

Thoughts on WC, for FH34 and BB37:

    Areola - Petrovic
    Gabriel - Gusto - Branthwaite - Udogie - Stones
    Salah - Saka - Son - Havertz - Palmer
    Haaland - Darwin - Muniz

    1. aapoman

Teams doubling on 34 are worse than the ones on 37. Also if you WC before 34 you will struggle to get a good dgw team for 37

      1. aapoman
        • 10 Years
        1 month, 14 days ago

I meant if you WC for BB34 then it will be difficult to cut out all the players who don't double in 37

        1. JONALDINHO
          • 6 Years
          1 month, 14 days ago

But you just FH them out in 37? I was looking at a BB37 draft but there’s so many risks. Petrovic could lose his place, Chelsea defence is constantly changing, Van Hecke could be dropped, Isak could be injured, Garnacho too. So much can happen in those 7 weeks. Rotation aswell. BB34 just seems so much more nailed and stronger. Can keep Pool + Arsenal players for run in over United/Chelsea/Spurs

      2. GreennRed
        • 12 Years
        1 month, 14 days ago

Doesn't matter if they're better or worse teams. Players points potential in gameweeks should be a criteria to consider.

    2. Bob B
      • 10 Years

Easier to plan over a longer period of time due to the amount of FT.

Can completely ignore the blank and double in 34 by using the FH.

    3. Tonyawesome69
      • 5 Years
      1 month, 14 days ago

All team dependant. Likely easier for folks to ignore 34 with FH and use FTs between 30-33 and 35-37.

Thoughts on this WC draft? FH34 and BB

    Onana Petrovic
Dalot Porro Gusto Lascelles AitNouri(or any max 4.6 def)
    Salah Son Saka Richarlison Palmer
    Haaland Isak Muniz

Main thinking is if Darwin + Garnacho is better than Richalison + Muniz.

    FH 34, WC 35, BB 37

    What are your thoughts?

If I was to WC now, the only advantages I see are:
    Owning Haaland for (ARS, AVL)
    Chelsea defence & GK
    Darwin

The "sacrifices" I'm making are by playing:
Watkins (WOL) then moving to Cunha (bur, WHM, NFO)
Toney (MUN, BHA) then moving to Haaland (cpl, LUT)
    Raya & Aké

    1. Bob B
      • 10 Years

      The team:

      Raya
      Porro Moreno Aké

      Watkins Toney
      (Kaminski Morris Reguilon Doughty)

Seeing a lot of posts fretting over GW37's rotation risks. Imo, that fear seems a little overblown, largely driven by PTSD from similar occurrences in seasons past (I have had my fair share of disappointments too!). Some points:

    1. For starters, at most only one (Man City) of the 6 doublers that week could be active in European competition by then. Chelsea and Spurs haven't had any European football this season, while Man Utd and Newcastle haven't had to worry about European games in the 2nd part of the season. Less miles in the legs, less need for rotation. (Brighton's assets are always rotation risks, regardless of context.)

    2. Both Ten Hag and Howe are notorious for not rotating at all unless forced by injuries. Plus, the potential threat over their jobs would push them (and Poch) to finish the season as strongly as possible. So, that's 3 teams - Man Utd, Newcastle and Chelsea - who have too much at stake in those games for casual rotation regardless of where their seasons are at that point.

    3. Ange's job should be safe even if we (Spurs) are not in European competition next season. But considering where we are in the table, the only way we're on the beach come GW37 is if we seal the 4th spot before then, or if Man Utd overtake us and 5th is way out of reach. The first condition would require a complete collapse from Villa (whose remaining fixtures aren't great) *and* consistent performances from Spurs (whose remaining fixtures are worse than Villa's) - neither of which is particularly likely. The second condition would require Man Utd stringing together a big sequence of wins, while we maintain the level of our performance against Fulham in the remaining games. (Spoiler: Both are very unlikely).

    4. With there being a three-way fight for the title, the chances of the title being settled before GW37 seem pretty remote. At worst, one of the three may have lost too much ground (but with City having by far the best run of fixtures and a history of staying alive in tight races, it is quite unlikely to be them). And considering that we are their bogey team, I'm sure Pep wouldn't risk making too many changes. (He might drop a surprise or two in the Fulham game, but they have been a thorn in the flesh for the big teams at home, so who knows!).

In all, I count 4 doubling teams that'll very likely play their best teams and a 5th with plenty at stake to make wholesale changes. If you consider the fact that noted rotation-phobes like Dyche has his team playing Sheffield Utd at home, there's enough to get a more than decent BB team, imo.

Would love to know your thoughts for/against these points. Cheers, all!

It's 7 weeks away. There'll be thousands of variables real and imagined before GW37. You're gonna get pre Traumatic Stress Disorder overthinking it. Put your hands away from the screen and enjoy the few days off until Friday and some team news.

I would get him if I was on a WC. Onana and Johnstone if I was Wcing.

Not saying the best move, but currently got Petrovic and Kelleher.

Can't see Sanchez coming in, Petro has the extra double over Onana and better fixtures up to GW34.

Kelleher a big risk but would start 2 or the next 4. Prob won't be starting for GW37 - may try and get a difft keeper in for then (as I said not ideal, but none of the cheaper keepers look great for that week anyway). Johnstone injured at Palace.

Should have mentioned budget is the main reason for Kelleher. Given I hopefully only need two keepers for one GW only not over thinking it.

Yeah bargain options like kelleher would be my usual pick but I'd prob like 2 who double in 37 to save needing a GK transfer later.

On Petro and Onana for now but none of the options seem that great tbh

I think Petro Onana would be the way I would go if I had the funds.

          How's your draft looking?

          Mine is
          Petro Kelleher
          Gabriel Gusto Lascelles Branth Udogie
          Saka Salah Son Palmer Garnacho
          Isak Darwin Haaland

          Assuming no injuries....

Quite unfinished tbh but with a few questions marks it's

            Onana Petro
            Gab Gusto Lascelles ? ?
            Salah Saka Palmer Son Rich
            Haaland Isak Muniz

Rich is bit of a placeholder, had for a while but not decided what to do with that spot yet.

Last two defs will be cheap 37 doublers e.g. Maguire and will prob look to get Udogie too

Unsure on Maguire just because Martinez may be back, keep an eye on that.

Would you start Garnacho over Saka this GW if chasing?

Only Premium members qualify for the cup.

I wonder why I am not in it then?

what main players are everyone targeting for DGW34?

also why do I see Newcastle players in lots of WCs when they don't double at all?

Newcastle have postponed GW34 fixture against Man United to be rearranged, likely in 37. Good fixture run for Newcastle attackers Isak /Gordon

They'll likely be the ones on the GW30 WC, GW34 FH + GW37 BB strategy

These content creators seem to be pushing Newcastle players now for the BB in 37. Think it's a bit early to be doing that.

Its ok, teams will rotate in 37, wasting yet another chip with overthinking
