DGW33, followed by BGW34 isn't ideal. Depending on who blanks and doubles dead ending into DGW33, then FH34, WC35, DGW36 is likely to be popular.

Dang it, they're forcing me to have Salah & Haaland to cover captaincy for the first two weeks. Was hoping to get away with only one.

Alternately could captain a Newcastle attacker GW1 and skip Salah. Though it would be costly if he hauls.

These new generations of fans have had their minds poisoned to not think it's a big trophy. When you've got people preferring to finish FOURTH than win arguably the best competition in world football... that's a problem.

You can blame United for devaluing it back in 2000. Look at the eclectic list of celebrities that were affected by it! https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/comments/14zbau6/on_this_day_24_years_ago_manchester_united/?rdt=64356

The FA forced us to do that because of the CWC.

I would say it's probably more to blame on fans fancying themselves as football accountants these days - obsessed with net spend and revenues so much that it feels like the end of the world if you don't make it into Europe.

This mindset of "I would rather qualify for the Champions League, which we've got no chance of winning, so that we can spend more money in the summer on players to help us qualify for the Champions League, which we've got no chance of winning..." needs to stop.

Wasn't planning to go with either until Pool's fixtures were released. The obvious picks are Haaland, Watkins, Saka, Foden, Palmer along with 2 or 3 Palace, and an Arsenal defender. Given how lax the pricing tend to be in this game that may not be far off being affordable along with cheap defender & keepers with good fixtures.

  16. Rotating Pairs 2024/25
    Portsmouth Bubblejet
    • 15 Years

As ever, each Premier League club has one team with whom they rotate perfectly throughout the season. This means that when Team A is at home, Team B is away, and vice versa. Although this is no longer as big a factor in FPL as it once was, it still may be useful if teams who had poor away form last year continue to disappoint on their travels.

Here are the 38-game rotating pairs for the 2024-25 season:

    Arsenal - Tottenham Hotspur
    Aston Villa - Nottingham Forest
    Brentford - Southampton
    Brighton - Ipswich
    Chelsea - Fulham
    Liverpool - Everton
    Manchester City - Manchester United
    Newcastle - Crystal Palace
    West Ham - Bournemouth
    Wolves - Leicester City

This means that FPL managers can pick a cheap defender from Newcastle and Crystal Palace, for example, and be sure that one of them will always have a home match.

And, even with perfect home and away rotation we'll all still play the lower scoring defender each week!

    G'day all!
Me and my partner will be in the UK from Australia in December for MW1 and hoping to get to a London game.
Games that weekend are Spurs vs Chelsea & Palace vs City. Any tips of best way to hopefully get a few tickets to one of the games?
    Cheers all

      • 1 Year

I doubt you'll get tickets for Palace v the champions. Small ground, larger percentage of season ticket holders = less likely for general resale. You should focus your efforts on Spurs v Chelsea.

Sign up to Palace and Tottenham's ticketing areas. Check the website every couple of weeks to keep an eye on the general sale dates. Most games sell out in general sale on the date they are releaded. So get on it ASAP on the date.

Can't talk for those clubs but West Ham post the general sale date about 4 weeks before the fixture. Good luck, hope you get the tickets you want.
