    Triple captain question

We have Palmer v Lei & Salah v Sou. Both away though.

    A. Good opportunity to play the chip
    B. Wait for a home fixture?

The first GW after international break is usually full of surprises, so I wouldn't use it right now.

Yes, there's merit in that alright. Salah not playing internationals, with a rest, I see as a plus factor though.

Salah didn't play, but pretty much everyone else did or will. Kelleher/Konate/Van Dijk/Robertson/Tsimikas/Szoboszlai/McAllister/Gravenberch/Gakpo/Jones/Diaz/Nunez. Not saying this will necessarily have an impact, go with your instinct by all means, but GWs after international breaks are highly unpredictable.

One reason it might be a good option is quite a few have wildcarded and therefore can't in 12

A good con & a good pro, thanks.

Do you consider the away factor, with the teams/players involved, to be a drawback?

I like the opportunistic value here.

Possibly the opposite as there's more of an expectation to not just park the bus for Leicester and Southampton at home than there would be away.

To be balanced here though Liverpool have europe midweek after so Salah could come off earlier and although not involved in europe Palmer is currently flagged.

I'd probably prefer to play it in a week where there is one standout as its a really tough decision between Palmer and Salah if both are available.

A bit to clarify, but plenty of time to make a decision.

Maybe on Salah, but too risky on Palmer as we don’t know how fit he is. He could be still playing through an injury and not at his best.

This was my first instinct coming into the season. Doubles may be limited this season and an observation is that players tend to get managed minutes during these 'late' season, still unplanned, periods.

I'm not trying to sell my pov btw, just exploring available opportunities. Appreciate your input.

  5. Haaland Timing

Here is an idea for what I think should be a hot topic. When are you planning on getting Haaland back if you are one of the many who have got rid? Gw18? later? or just no plan? I am about to wc and will go without and the team I would like on my wc would spread the money too thinly so it would make Haaland about 4 ft away. I may still do it anyway and just use all the 4ft up to gw18 to plan for this. What is your haaland plan?

    1. Vazza
      • 5 Years

I wildcarded ahead of GW10 and kept Haaland. I still feel it was the right decision to do so.

    2. bobson5

There's no point in basing it on fixtures, it will be based on form. For most people it will probably be on the next wildcard if he's in form/looks a better option than Salah

    3. Sheffield Wednesday
      • 5 Years
      1 year, 18 days ago

If you don't have Haaland then just stick with that plan until March, then consider getting on WC2. Don't use up all your FTs for what turns out to be minimal gain, if any, getting Haaland back in your team.

I'll see what the situation is before GW18. City's fixtures are decent from then on but Liverpool are top of the 6 week ticker then and I think there are too many sacrifices elsewhere, when owning both Salah and Haaland.

    5. Tonyawesome69
      • 6 Years

Be flexible, only 2-3 transfers to Haaland with cheap attackers still viable options. Issues with Salah/Palmer/Saka will likely lead to folks going back to Haaland

If you are on wildcard, it's a no brainer to create a team with him.

What on earth are you talking about. Haaland has been awful value in like thr last 5 games there's a reason so many people are choosing to go without him. It's actually the opposite people like myself have Haaland and are going to go without him on a WC and spread the money to fit Salah Palmer and Saka

        1. Casual Player
          • 5 Years
          1 year, 18 days ago

The trick is to get off the bandwagon before they have poor returns, not 5 games later.

You’re just as likely to now hop off Haaland just as he starts returning on his xG and/or Salah starts being less efficient on returns.

I would certainly consider Haaland on WC, possibly with Salah. Not saying would definitely go with him but it’s not black or white

      2. Hotdogs for Tea
        • 10 Years
        1 year, 18 days ago

It’s really isn’t, the cash spread from not owning Haaland gives a very competitive 11 with substantial point opportunity

That said, a Salah & Haaland draft is quite strong now with Wissa, Pedro, Welbeck, Cunha, and few Man U cheapies looking good value and a load of sub 6 mill forwards

    7. Deulofail
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 17 days ago

No plan. Everyone thought he was too expensive when the prices were revealed and starting with him was just a surefire stopgap until the time was right to sell (originally thinking GW4 but ended up being this week). May get him back later but accommodating for a plan to get him back already now would lessen the impact of the plan to go without him, so I’ll just plan to go without Haaland for the next block of fixtures I’ve set me team up for then reassess at a point when I have 4-5 FTs for another potential reshuffle. but there would have to be quite a reduction in decent FPL attacking options for it to feel necessary to make the reshuffle compared to now even if he is in form and hauling.

    8. Shultan
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 17 days ago

I think 4FTs is quite excessive if want to get him back.
I'm not on WC & didn't have the guts to do haaland > Cunha in GW10 so plan to sell before liverpool away & spread funds with 3 FTs.

I don't have a plan to get him back. Do I expect him to score more hatrick? absolutely but with Salah/Palmer/Saka/bruno that's gives me other captain options. Haaland hatrick is 17 points but a midfielder goal & CS & 3 bonus can get 11!

Fabianski should be your 4.0 pick, he is the only 4.0 goalie starting!

      Get Fab as 4.0

I don’t mind sticking with Haaland - it’s a differential at this point.

Probs prefer Wissa to Larsen though if you can afford,

Someone said weak bench but it’s a great 1st sub (maybe Semenyo better) and two defenders that will get you 1-2 pts in a pinch then might occasional surprise. I don’t mind that at all.

Yeah, great minds and stuff, haha. The thing is Forest have really tough fixtures, so clean sheets will be tricky and he isn't a heavily attacking back either. If anything, Milenkovic is more of an attacking threat from set pieces.

      Thanks!

Getting Aina is casual IMO. No evidence that he’s got more underlying attacking threat than the other Notts defenders that cost 4.5. People playing 0.2 (now 0.3) more for points he’s already got.

I’ll be selling in the next couple of weeks. I’ll be making a 0.2m profit.

Keeping my eye out for the Bruno, VVD & jao pedro rises. Money is a bit tight but don’t want to get burnt by getting in a player on international duty who then gets injured. Again.

      Verbruggen
      Cheaper and better than Sanchez.

Team looks ok.. No need to wc now

    3. Eze Really?

Decide on this G is good; A is average; B is bad:
      A G
      G B B A A
      G A G G B
      G B G

        Cool! Thanks for your time.
One of the critical moves I'm considering is Solanke > Watkins which I can do with one hit. This is the likely scenario if i don't hit WC.
Next step is to convert Son to Saka/Palmer, for which I need two more hits because I'm short of funds. Can sacrifice Raya. But 2 hits for this move would not make sense.
Last decision is to ditch Haaland which shall be the main purpose of the WC. Not sure if I lose him now. If I do that, I'll overhaul the team.

WC probably depends on how badly you want to get rid of Haaland. Otherwise not needed IMO

Thanks for narrowing it down. Yes, this shall be the most critical factor.
Even if I keep Haaland, following are the moves I can take on WC:
        Solanke > Watkins
        Son + Raya > Palmer + Verbruggen
        Sangare > Winks
        Moreno > Hall
        Myko + THB > Kerkez + Burgess
Do you think above moves worth a WC and can set me up for the coming weeks?

Nah. It might end up in hopping to Haaland all season.

Then go for it if you want to cap him.

If you plan to captain him it is probably worth it.
