Thinking Postecoglou ➡ Slot this GW for free? Then maybe Slot ➡ Amorim for a hit the GW after. Thoughts?

    ...eh???

The Assistant Manager chip can be used once a season. Your initial manager selection will not cost a transfer.

....Any further manager transfers will either cost a free transfer or 4
points if you do not have a free transfer available????

      Yep

So you decide to use a FT transfer if you think you've messed up your assistant manager chip

Just look at 3 games on FDR and ride it out I guess

You can only have 2 outfield Liverpool players then though. What's the point? The table bonus thing is more useful. Palace have looked better recently. Use TC for Salah in probable GW25 double and in GW26 use this thing on Palace manager. You'll get 16 points each if they win against Fulham and Villa. Draws will be 8.

No it says if you use in 24 then you can't use another chip till 27. And the manager will count towards one of the 3 team slots you can use.

  14. lilmessipran

So if we will be paying 0.5-1.5m of team value for manager does this mean I lose out on that team value if not playing the chip for gw36-38?

You left out the most important info about the chip.

Your Assistant Manager will get you six points for each win, three for a draw, two for a clean sheet and one point for every goal.

If you pick a manager who faces a club ranked at least five places higher in the Premier League table at the start of the Gameweek, there’s the possibility of even greater rewards – an EXTRA 10 points for a win, so 16 in total, or an additional five points for a draw, so eight in total.

    Ok so…
    1) locks you out of using any other chip during the entire three week period.
    2) requires you to free up funds (which is idiotic mid-season).
    3) counts against the total players from each team.

I suppose it does eliminate Pep roulette, unless Pep himself is sacked off.

TBH, forget about the manager aspect, you are picking a team regardless who manages it.

I am curious though if a manager loses points for a yellow or red card.

  24. putana

I'd say the dumbest thing about it is locking you out of using other chips for 3 weeks. Ive had to use an unplanned wildcard in the past because of injuries

    1. Qaiss
      • 9 Years
      11 months, 29 days ago

I used my second wildcard last season after having a bad gameweek, so it was unplanned but then went on to finish at 3k, as I saved my free-hit

I guess it’s a slight risk to use the chip before wildcarding

  25. ViperStripes
    • Fantasy Football Scout Member

So best used for a team 6th or lower in league that has an easier run with DGW'S in a period where you don't want to use any other chips! Last 3 weeks of the season it is then for a team battling relegation

    1. Andy_Social
      • 13 Years
      11 months, 29 days ago

6th wouldn't be much use - unless they play Liverpool 3 GWs in a row.

Good point. At least 8th then a chance of 3 wins but lower you go the more likely.

Those days are long gone. I'd like bench boost and triple captain to be scrapped. I'm ok with two wildcards per season and a couple of free hits. No need for more layers.

Wow, what a terrible idea. The game works because of its simplicity. They're trying to fix what isn't broken. And to introduce it half way through a season is comical. I'm assuming it's some sort of brain fart from marketing to justify their own existence.

There's also the fact you're missing out on a triple up on outfield players in the 3 fixtures you'll be using the chip in. Will have to take that in account.
