Back for a new season, with “sailing fan” Granville now woken from his Olympic dream, we return for another podcast after a three-month hiatus.

While some of the regulars are shelved this week, we talk over the Sky Sports Game, welcome new Fantasy Football double act “Fenners & Merse” and start the clear up after Robin Van Persie kicked over the applecart.

The episode is underpinned by a new concept – the idea that Granville and I can join forces and actually be effective. The premise is we pick a ScoutCast XI and cross our beams to co-manage it over the season, arguing the toss in every ScoutCast episode on transfers and substitutions. The aim is harmony and a united success. It seems unlikely to end that way.

Oh, and there are actually two of my “jokes” that Granville misses in this episode – see if you can make out the second. I swear he was dreaming of gold medals in the sailing.

    Top heavy I know, but are the big defenders worth it?

    Last tinker might be to use De Gea money on an upgrade of Shawcross to A Cole for Wk1 and play him instead on Jenkinson.

            If he pops one in and plays for 10 mins, still might be worth it. I think his Price will fly, even at 13m. I've got Maloney on the bench if RVP doesn't surface.

            Risky I know, but I just feel that Fergie will prove the doubters and show it to City.

    I've got several decisions still to make but the biggest one is Mata or Bale? I have Torres but no other Spurs players.

    Mata has a DGW of easy games, whilst Bale has a difficult trip to SJP. But at least Bale plays in GW3. I just cant choose at all. Opinions?

      Depends on your transfer plans u could bring in bale for Mata Gw2 but seen as u have torres u a re probably doing the norm of torres to rooney Gw2

      Noble has set pieces but I still wouldn't expect many big returns. Allen should get more from play but again I'd say his returns will be very low. I'd go with Noble simply because he's the cheaper option.

      Ye he's nailed on and a solid pick for 6.0, hogs set pieces too. There's no doubt it's a risk, but all 6.0 options really are IMO.

                Torres will be gw1 gold, must have. Rooney has a tough fixture. Mata will play in the hole with his fellow Spanyard. Should be most nailed on in the Chelsea mid as well. Ramieres, Hazard and Lamps all played last night. At least Mata will be "fresh"

    My reasoning for skippering franky boy

    Hes on pens and corners and im only keeping him till DGW is over so its a low risk short term move

    + last seasn from no where he scored a hatrick v bolton so hes more than capable of scoring well v wigan and reading IMO

          I'm sure he will play the 90 against Wigan, if he starts against Reading you should be good, may last 60 mins, but still a chance he wont start. To risky for me, but if it pays off, then nicely played sir 🙂
