Back for a new season, with “sailing fan” Granville now woken from his Olympic dream, we return for another podcast after a three-month hiatus.

While some of the regulars are shelved this week, we talk over the Sky Sports Game, welcome new Fantasy Football double act “Fenners & Merse” and start the clear up after Robin Van Persie kicked over the applecart.

The episode is underpinned by a new concept – the idea that Granville and I can join forces and actually be effective. The premise is we pick a ScoutCast XI and cross our beams to co-manage it over the season, arguing the toss in every ScoutCast episode on transfers and substitutions. The aim is harmony and a united success. It seems unlikely to end that way.

Oh, and there are actually two of my “jokes” that Granville misses in this episode – see if you can make out the second. I swear he was dreaming of gold medals in the sailing.

Doubling up on west ham defence yay or nay?

Cheap, allardyce tactics, best defensive fixtures for a third of the season... not much downside (clean sheets are a luxury for a 4mil player anyway but money can be invested elsewhere) and a lot of upside imo.

ahh good old boswinga! I still remember the week I made the ballsy choice of captaining him and he ended up (before doubled points) being my highest scoring player that gw. was a rough gw but that was a small mental victory!

anyways... any idea how long it'll take to add him to the game? depending on price do you think he's a better option than fabio?

    as for DdG, is there such a huge difference between having a top 4 keeper. the stats last season don't bear that out. on top of that i'm worried lindergaard will take starts away

Few things I wanted to rant/talk/discuss

My Brother emails me yesterday saying "RVP gone to united...time to rethink everything in my fantasy football" At first i was like shit he is right but soon enough I decided it makes things easier and that having Rooney means not having to worry about RVP like if he was still at Arsenal. Rvp wont be on pens and wont be on set pieces. 🙂 thats how I felt...until I spoke with a Good friend and clever united and football fan and his views crushed my previous happiness. He reckons that Rooney isnt that good of a peno taker and never really has so easily could share or just be given to RVP. Also united last season took mostly short corners as they "dont have a great corner taker" (his words dont cry at me) and RVP will most definitely will be on corner duty. Free kicks will be rotated in his eyes. Considering all this I cant seem to make up my mind. cut me Bale and Mata to Lamps and Siggy so Torres becomes RVP or Bale Mata Rooney... People you need to help me I haven't slept in days(joking)...

So I Really really want Swansea coverage but cant decide on which way to do it cause Petric is really tempting as well and Fulham have equally as good fixtures as Swans...So here is my question to you.
Sinclar Worth his 7m price tag? Will he have pens again this year and is Michu better value at 6.5? I dont know much about this Michu guy but from what I gather he is Swans replacement for Siggy so will have the ball alot blah blah blah but does anyone know anything about him? I think I could lean towards Sinclar purely as a differential making the ultimate difference as I dont see him in anyone's teams on here. What you guys think?

And Lastly Villa. Ive been throwing players in and out of my team (Bent Holman) but i dont know if its the claret and blue or that they are just shit that I never seem to be happy. Nzogbia? Seriously after last year i cant believe people are talking but him again. Bent over priced, defence is shit but their fixtures are tasty and could grab a few points and i think Holman is the way to go but im yet to be convinced. Anyone care to convince me?

  I'm a Villan - not sure what our season holds so would hang fire - Bent isn't overpriced as he consistently scores, irrespective of who for - Sunderland, Charlton, Spurs, Villa and is proven.
  
  Holman could be a good signing as plays in the hole with an eye for goal, especially early doors as Gabby is out as is Albrighton and obviously Stan Petrov.
  
  Just hard to see N'Zog or Ireland stepping up.
  
  At the back, Vlaar will give 110%.
  
  We'll finish 13th.
