FPL Hall of Fame Gameweek 1 team reveals: World’s best managers

Four of the best managers in Fantasy Football Scout’s Hall of Fame have exclusively revealed their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 1 deadline!

These are the cream of the crop, the FPL bosses who haven’t just racked up one outstanding overall rank but several of them.

Our star-studded quartet are:

  • Abinav C (rank 3rd): Finished 193rd in the world last season, which was their second time in the top 1k and fourth in the top 10k. Hasn’t finished outside the top 50k in any of the last nine seasons.
  • Rob Mayes (rank 6th): Hasn’t been outside the top 30k in the last nine years, finishing top 1k on two occasions and top 10k on a further two.
  • Gideon Moss (rank 7th): Followed up a top 2k finish in 2023/24 by finishing 11th in the world last season. Has another top 4k rank to their name on top of this.
  • Niklas Nylander (rank 15th): A top 1k finish in 2024/25, their second such overall rank. They posted top 10k finishes in 2023/24 and 2022/23, too.

    Hello Scouts! Good to be back. I could use some advice on any or all of these:

    1. I don't see Perri in any drafts starting with a 4.5 keeper + Dubravka. Leeds def was very good last year and GW1 home vs. Everton. Not a bad shout over Verbruggen/Kelleher etc?

    2. Where can I access ownership levels? How do you know a player is 5% owned, for example?

    3. Anyone going without Palmer? I'm thinking of going Salah/Bruno/Wirtz and then a 6.5 and 5.5 or something like that for midfield.

      1. That's probably because of how much higher the standard of attacking players is in the Prem.

      2. I use the player stats available on the official FPL website or via the PL app.

      3. I have Salah, Palmer and Wirtz.

      Wow those are fine margins. I think C is the safest/highest floor pick, the other two are nicely balanced between safe and higher upside. Maybe I like B best, acknowledging it's a bit of a punt on Georgino.

        Very sensible picks as you say. I've currently got Reijnders as my fifth midfielder but if I knew I needed him to start regularly I might be more inclined to go Anderson and secure the DC points.

          Cheers. Thanks for the reply. The way I see it is I'm gambling sensibly. Gone with Minteh, Reijnders, Kdh, Larsen and Fullkrug in the hopes that atleast 2 of them end up being the bargains of this year. With anderson we know what we ll get. Hoping some of these 5 outperform and Konsa is safety on my bench when inevitably 2 to 3 of these fail

    Some seriously excellent finishes from those in the article. I'm confused as to why there is little reference to this?

    I'm unable to read the whole article due to subscription so I'm assuming many are in a similar position?

    Is this where there's a major flaw in the ffs layout? Seems such a waste that an effort is made to acrue this talent pool and their knowledge which, based on finishes is better than most content providers only for it to be buried in rmt's.

    Not looking for replies as will get swallowed by the posts however just seems a lot of good expert input(backed up by overall rank) going by the wayside.

    This post will be gone tomorrow of course, Shame there's no dedicated forum.

      Tosin looked good at the end of last season but I'm confused about their defence. I've seen a few Chelsea fans talking as if they play a three at the back but I don't think that's the case. Do they shift to it in possession a la Pep's City?

    I’m really torn on VVD or Frimpong. I feel VVD was in everybody’s drafts and now it’s changed to Frimpong. Would anybody care to explain the reasons people are leaning towards Frimpong now? Thanks
