Four of the best managers in Fantasy Football Scout’s Hall of Fame have exclusively revealed their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) teams ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 1 deadline!

These are the cream of the crop, the FPL bosses who haven’t just racked up one outstanding overall rank but several of them.

Our star-studded quartet are:

  • Abinav C (rank 3rd): Finished 193rd in the world last season, which was their second time in the top 1k and fourth in the top 10k. Hasn’t finished outside the top 50k in any of the last nine seasons.
  • Rob Mayes (rank 6th): Hasn’t been outside the top 30k in the last nine years, finishing top 1k on two occasions and top 10k on a further two.
  • Gideon Moss (rank 7th): Followed up a top 2k finish in 2023/24 by finishing 11th in the world last season. Has another top 4k rank to their name on top of this.
  • Niklas Nylander (rank 15th): A top 1k finish in 2024/25, their second such overall rank. They posted top 10k finishes in 2023/24 and 2022/23, too.

Here we go, then, with their Gameweek 1 teams!

Remember that elite manager team reveals are just one of the benefits available to Chief Scout members in FPL 2025/26.

Replaced Wan Bissaka with Diouf. Seems more likely to get assist points.

    What’s everyone’s take on Reijnders?

Reckon he’s a likely starter and worth a punt for 5.5m? I saw he grabbed a couple of goals the other day.

Worth a punt if already planning to WC early. Otherwise, perhaps a wait-and-see, perhaps worth it. Depends on your team.

I'll be the third in this thread to say "worth a punt". If he starts and gets anything his price goes up, if he doesn't I doubt he'll be 5.1m in a couple of weeks. If you want a nailed starter who gets DC points get Anderson or Tonali, if you want someone easy to bench drop down to Baleba or KDH.

I really want to punt on Harry Wilson at 5.5m but Fulham's fixtures aren't great and they're interested in another winger.

    Cucurella Diouf Rodon
    Salah Gakpo Rutter Carvalho
    Haaland Gyokeres Ekitike

    Dubravka Devenny Hartman Hoever

Shame I don’t have 0.5m otherwise I’d be all of this!

    Rodon - Everton (H)
    Hartman - Sunderland (H)
    Hoever - Everton (H)
    Rodon - Fulham (a)

I always think, at some point in the week before the GW1 deadline, that if the game would let me pick this team, with 100.5 budget, I would settle on it and make no more changes before the deadline. Just willing the tinkering to stop and peace to return.

Basically, I would like the option to "lock in" 5 days before the deadline with an extra 0.5 budget. I wonder how many people would take it.

      1. Athletic Nasherbo
        • 8 Years
        3 months, 23 days ago

        Oh I would right now.

A good way to stop tinkering is when you’re certain on a player. If you’re not certain they shouldn’t in the team. No other information except transfer and injury news should sway thinking at this point. Unless there’s an intentional strategy change.

        1. Deulofail
          • 9 Years
          3 months, 23 days ago

Yeah I think most people would take it right now. Only 2 days away. I would too.
But still, it's before the final pressers and a couple of days of transfers & news. Some would prefer to wait.

It's easy to make 0.5m in that team imo.

      1. Athletic Nasherbo
        • 8 Years
        3 months, 23 days ago

Yes it is. But I’m very set on Cucurella.

I also love Ekitike, but I could start with Bowen. I’d need to keep the 0.5m spare.

The sensible option is J.Pedro and then upgrade a 4.0 option to Neco.

No chance, he has a lot to prove. Ndiaye plays the same positions but is a better goalscorer and maybe on pens, KDH saves you 1.5m and will be raring to go. I think I'd even rather go with Alcaraz or Gueye until we see that he's ready.

Grealish was great in City's treble winning season but at this point I can't even blame Pep for starting Doku with his zero end product. Not sure how much of it is down to player or manager.

Lots of teams with Guiu as 3rd striker.
Obviously a cheap price but is he likely to be first choice? Or better to spend a bit more on someone like Beto?

      Tough on this tbh

      A) has great options in defence, like Tark, Murillo and Munoz
      B) has good options in midfield at 5.5m

Looks good but if I were you I would pick Diouf-Konsa or Andersen-Dorgu if you are going to be rotating a bit in defence. I feel those combos work better than Diouf-Andersen but it is sometimes pot luck so wouldnt get caught up over it if you're looking for that potential in Diouf and defensive points in Andersen

      1. Pumpkinhead
        • 11 Years
        3 months, 23 days ago

I liked the look of Diouf in PS. That said, West Hams fixtures from a defensive point of view do not look great to start the season (other than game week one). He can definitely be moved on.

    2. Deulofail
      • 9 Years

I'd pick attacking midfielders for rotation, since DC points for defensive midfielders more likely come in tough fixtures (I assume). But if you're only benching Anderson against the top 2-3 sides, then it sounds good to me

      1. Pumpkinhead
        • 11 Years
        3 months, 23 days ago

I'm not fully sure how I will rotate but I suspect that Anderson and KDH would play more followed by my defender joining when needed.

Frimpong, Gyok, Ekitike + I'm not sure about Tosins and Kudus minutes. Salah may or may not be worth it but I think you have many punt in that team that you'll need to come good right off the jump. For new players to the league/teams I'm definitely more cautious. Like I said, I wish you luck, hopefully it comes off for you.

Yeah, I see what you mean. 3 new players, who might not to do well at first because of transition to PL. I'm not that worried about the minutes tho, Tosin only for first two games, Kudus only for the first one, etc.

I'd personally split the defense and move Sels to Sanchez but it looks great!

    A or B?

    A) Haaland, 4.5 FWD & Rogers (Esteve first on bench)

    B) J. Pedro, Bowen & Saka (4.5 DEF first on bench)

Apart from monitoring Rogers, do I stop tinkering now? Not a great GW1 but comes to life GW2 onwards.

    Sels, Dubravka
    Murillo, Tarkowski, Lacroix, Diouf, Esteve
    Salah, Palmer, Rogers, Semenyo, KDH
    Watkins, Evanilson, Strand Larsen

Heard that Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has suffered a hamstring injury in training.

Wtf with this guy, always injured. If true, reconsidering Tarko now

Thoughts on my team, Trump's Pedro Files, please:

    Bizot
    Frimpong RAN Cucurella
    Wirtz Saka Zubimendi Palmer
    Ekitiké Gyökeres Pedro

    Verbruggen | Diouf, AWB, King

    GW1: BB
    GW3: FH
    GW4: WC (optional)

I lined them up nicely into their soccer uniforms like this on FPL. Open to suggestions for other orientations.

I might still change King and AWB on the bench, but leaning this way at the moment. Open to suggestions for other orientations.

Makes Senesi a very good option imo.

I'm wondering now whether Salah + Haaland is the way.

Looking at captaincy, I don't think I'd captain Palmer in any of the first 6 games. Maybe only in GW2 vs (whu).

Salah looks important for captaincy in 1 (BOU), 4 (bur) and 5 (EVE)
Haaland covers for 2 (TOT), 6 (BUR).
Bruno can be captain in GW3 vs (BUR)

If you think strictly about making sure you have captaincy options over the opening fixtures, it makes most sense to go for the triple of Salah, Haaland, Bruno and not have Palmer.

Having both is differential, which is a good place to be. Not sure on Salah, though.

Good point tbf. I guess I'm off to start another draft...

It will also come down to the sacrifices made to the rest of the squad if you go from Palmer to Haaland. That is a 3.5M increase.

All 3 are perfectly fine captains for the first 6 weeks, except GW5 when all 3 (and Bruno) have a dodgy fixture, so it's more pot luck.

You're also ommitting the fact that Salah + Haaland is up to £4m more expensive than Salah / Haaland + Palmer

Yeah not one strong (c) fixture in GW5 for Salah, Palmer, Bruno, Saka or Haaland.

Salah (h) to Everton early kick off about the most appealing and even then it looks like one to avoid.

Yeah unless you've got Watkins, I guess.

    Sels
    Cucurella Murillo De Cuyper
    Saka Wirtz Gakpo Palmer Rogers*
    Watkins Solanke**

    Dubravka Munoz Konsa Guiu

    * Do I stick with Rogers or spread my bets with Semenyo? Bournemouth will still score goals.
** Depedent on tonight. If I'm not impressed, it'll be Mateta.

    0.5 ITB for tweaks.

I would swap Rogers for someone else if we have no pics of Rogers training with the team. I don't think I will go with Solanke as well...

Solanke will most likely be Mateta in further thought.
