Summer 2025’s transfer window finally closed on Monday night, where late deadline day developments will surely shape the thinking of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers.

A late flurry of ins and outs took place, with several clubs particularly active on deadline day.

As an international break treat, new sign-ups to our Chief Scout membership will receive both a 14-day free trial and 40% off the subsequent annual package.

This offer can be snapped up until the end of Wednesday 3 September.

TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY – AS IT HAPPENED

22:30 – REISS NELSON (ARSENAL TO BRENTFORD, LOAN)

The progression of 25-year-old Reiss Nelson (£4.9m) has stalled in recent years, with a December hamstring injury ending his 2024/25 loan at Fulham. Perhaps another stint in west London could reinvigorate the winger’s career. If he goes on to become a £4.9m FPL bargain, Brentford have an option to permanently purchase him.

22:19 – KEVIN (SHAKHTAR DONETSK TO FULHAM, £34.6M)

Concluding a frustratingly quiet summer for Marco Silva’s side is the addition of left-sided attacker Kevin. Fulham beat off Sporting CP competition to buy him for a record fee. If he can repeat his 17 goals from 57 Shakhtar appearances – including four from three recent Europa League qualifiers – expect the Home Alone gifs to emerge from every direction.

22:15 – OLEKSANDR ZINCHENKO (ARSENAL TO NOTTINGHAM FOREST, LOAN)

A late deal for left-back Javi Galan collapsed, so Nottingham Forest concluded their late summer splurge by temporarily borrowing Zinchenko from Arsenal. FPL owners of Neco Williams (£5.0m) may feel slightly twitchy.

22:10 – CHRISTANTUS UCHE (GETAFE TO CRYSTAL PALACE, LOAN)

Having been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers, it was Crystal Palace who ended up with Christantus Uche, adding another attacker to their European squad.

Then again, his fast rise through the Spanish lower leagues involved Uche being a standout defensive midfielder, until La Liga side Getafe instead opted to use him as their battering ram up front.

22:09 – IGOR JULIO (BRIGHTON TO WEST HAM, LOAN)

Part of the dramatic sequence of events that saw Marc Guehi‘s (£4.5m) move to Liverpool collapse is that Brighton and Hove Albion centre-back Igor Julio (£4.5m) went to West Ham United instead of Crystal Palace.

The Brazilian hasn’t played a single minute of Brighton’s three matches, but Nayef Aguerd (£4.4m) played all of the Hammers’ first two defeats and has now departed for Marseille.

22:08 – BERTRAND TRAORE (AJAX TO SUNDERLAND, UNDISCLOSED)

While grabbing Brian Brobbey (below), Sunderland couldn’t resist buying their 14th name of the summer. The former Chelsea and Aston Villa winger is still playing, as his nomadic career next takes him to Wearside for £2.5m.

It’s a one-year deal to replace new Birmingham City loanee Patrick Roberts (£5.4m).

22:03 – DILANE BAKWA (STRASBOURG TO NOTTINGHAM FOREST, £30M)

After signing from Bologna, it’s been a good start for Dan Ndoye (£6.1m) at Nottingham Forest. Yet he already has big-money competition from fellow right-winger Dilane Bakwa, a talent when it comes to dribbling and crossing. He contributed to 15 Strasbourg goals as they finished seventh last season. From this campaign’s first three Ligue 1 encounters, he’s already on four attacking returns.

22:01 – HARVEY ELLIOTT (LIVERPOOL TO ASTON VILLA, LOAN)

Priced at £5.4m in FPL, this smart capture could prove to be a bargain in both real-life and Fantasy circles. Midfielder Elliott only started 13 league games during his latest two Liverpool seasons, but found enough time to register four goals and 11 assists. Then, over this summer, he netted five times to become Player of the Tournament during England’s European U21 Championship success.

An obligatory fee takes the package to just £35m and could bring good news for Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) and Morgan Rogers (£7.0m) ahead of upcoming clashes against Everton, Sunderland, Fulham and Burnley. Could Elliott resurrect Aston Villa’s awful start to the 2025/26 season?

22:00 – YOANE WISSA (BRENTFORD TO NEWCASTLE, £50M)

FPL Gameweek 11 round-up: Saturday’s goals, assists, bonus points + stats 7

An eye-watering sum of money takes Yoane Wissa (£7.5m), who turns 29 on Wednesday, to Tyneside. Last season’s 19 goals for Brentford were particularly impressive, considering not one of them was a penalty. Ranked fifth for big chances (34), he came sixth-best for shots on target (41) and fourth for expected goals (18.59).

But he’ll be competing with fellow new Magpie Nick Woltemade (£7.0m) for the centre-forward spot, which could potentially dampen the FPL prospects of both.

22:00 – SENNE LAMMENS (ANTWERP TO MAN UTD, £18.1M)

Supporters will be relieved that, after the comedic masterclasses of Andre Onana (£5.0m) and Altay Bayindir (£5.0m), the club are pursuing a more traditional way of goalkeeping.

Rather than buy Emiliano Martinez (£5.0m) from Aston Villa, Ruben Amorim has opted for highly-rated Belgian stopper Senne Lammens. The 23-year-old has impressed in the two seasons since arriving at Antwerp on a free transfer.

21:37 – JADON SANCHO (MANCHESTER UNITED TO ASTON VILLA, LOAN)

FPL new signings: Sancho a threat to Madueke

This is the latest attempt to resuscitate Jadon Sancho’s (£5.9m) career after his high-profile disappointment at Manchester United, plus loan moves at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. In fact, the Blues preferred to pay a £5m penalty rather than sign him permanently.

Maybe Unai Emery is the right man to guide Sancho, as January’s loan for Marcus Rashford went pretty well – two goals and three assists from 461 minutes (around five full matches).

21:30 – ALEXANDER ISAK (NEWCASTLE TO LIVERPOOL, £125M)

Last season’s highest-scoring FPL forward joins Liverpool for a lower-than-expected fee. This will concern Hugo Ekitike’s (£8.7m) three million owners.

21:18 – BRIAN BROBBEY (AJAX TO SUNDERLAND, £17.3M)

The domino effect of Liam Delap’s weekend injury is that Chelsea have recalled highly-owned FPL enabler Marc Guiu (£4.4m) and, in response, Sunderland have splashed out on a forward who scored four times in 30 Eredivisie appearances last season.

21:10 – MERLIN ROHL (FREIBURG TO EVERTON, LOAN + OBLIGATION)

Although not much of a goal scorer, this energetic, versatile central midfielder is a German U21 international. The loan becomes a £17.3m permanent move should Everton avoid relegation.

20:47 – CUIABANO (BOTAFOGO TO NOTTINGHAM FOREST, UNDISCLOSED)

Yet another exchange between Nottingham Forest and Botafogo. This time, it brings 22-year-old Cuiabano to the City Ground.

20:35 – SAMUEL CHUKWUEZE (AC MILAN TO FULHAM, LOAN)

Fulham have acquired a new winger, Samuel Chukwueze, who has joined the Cottagers on loan from AC Milan. The Nigerian is recognised for his speed and dribbling ability.

He mainly plays on the right, putting him in direct competition with Harry Wilson (£5.4m), although he also has experience playing off the left. Chukwueze struggled for regular minutes last season, but scored three goals and provided two assists across 26 Serie A appearances. Just nine were starts, however.

20:05 – RANDAL KOLO MUANI (PSG TO TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR, LOAN)

One good season at Frankfurt brought a quick £64.2m profit, as PSG splashed out on Randal Kolo Muani in 2023. In truth, his time in Paris went on to be underwhelming, but a January loan to Juventus led to eight goals in 16 Serie A matches, plus a couple of Club World Cup strikes.

The centre-forward can also play out wide, but his arrival complicates things for FPL managers, as the likes of Mohammed Kudus (£6.6m), Brennan Johnson (£7.1m), Dominic Solanke (£7.3m) and Richarlison (£6.7m) are already there.

20:03 – PIERO HINCAPIE (BAYER LEVERKUSEN TO ARSENAL, LOAN)

A replacement for the departing Jakub Kiwior (£5.4m), the loanee from Bayer Leverkusen can play as either a centre-back, left-back or left wing-back.

“Piero has a real physical presence, with his versatility and tactical flexibility giving us strong added defensive options. He is a big character, with a very good combination of both youth and maturity. He will make our squad stronger and more competitive as we continue into this season.” – Mikel Arteta on Piero Hincapie

19:40 – LUTSHAREL GEERTRUIDA (RB LEIPZIG TO SUNDERLAND, LOAN)

Lutsharel Geertruida has moved to Sunderland on loan from RB Leipzig. The Dutch international, who can operate at right-back, centre-back and in central midfield, offers Regis Le Bris plenty of versatility.

However, one goal and one assist in 39 appearances for Leipzig last season suggests he’s not going to be a sought-after FPL asset, particularly representing a newly-promoted team’s defence.

19:00 – JAYDEE CANVOT (TOULOUSE TO CRYSTAL PALACE, UNDISCLOSED)

Jaydee Canvot, 19, has joined Crystal Palace from Toulouse on a four-year deal. He played 20 times across all competitions last season. A France U20 international, he’s likely to play backup to Chris Richards (£4.5m), Maxence Lacroix (£5.0m) and Marc Guehi (£4.5m) in the Premier League.

18:49 – FLORENTINO LUIS (BENFICA TO BURNLEY, LOAN)

The 26-year-old midfielder joins on a season-long loan, with the option to make it permanent next summer.

16:00 – VELJKO MILOSAVLJEVIC (CRVENA ZVEZDA TO BOURNEMOUTH, £13M)

Consecutive clean sheets suggest that Bournemouth might be absolutely fine, despite losing Illia Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez (£6.0m). 18-year-old centre-back prospect Milosavljevic is part of their evolution.

“He is a young talent, who has experience at a high level, and he will continue to progress by training on a daily basis alongside the experienced centre- backs we have at the club in Marcos Senesi, Bafodé Diakité and James Hill.” – Tiago Pinto, Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations

15:00 – FACUNDO BUONANOTTE (BRIGHTON TO CHELSEA, LOAN)

The latest chapter of this increasingly odd relationship between Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion sees young attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte (£4.9m) move to Stamford Bridge on loan, rather than accumulate game time somewhere else.

The 20-year-old fared quite well at Leicester City last season, ending with five goals and two assists.

Combined with Liam Delap’s (£6.4m) injury and the imminent departure of Nicolas Jackson (£6.5m), this should ensure that Joao Pedro (£7.7m) keeps starting as a centre-forward for the Blues.

15:00 – TOLU AROKODARE (GENK TO WOLVES, £24M)

Coming in to accompany, rather than replace, Jorgen Strand Larsen (£6.5m), the 6ft 6in Nigerian forward adds some much-needed attacking talent to the team that’s currently bottom of the league without a single point.

After an average start to life at Genk, his 21 goals secured last season’s Belgian Pro League Golden Boot.

13:00 – VICTOR LINDELOF (ASTON VILLA, FREE TRANSFER)

A free agent after his Manchester United contract’s summer expiry, the 31-year-old Sweden captain was a bit-part player during his previous three campaigns. A mixture of injuries and being behind other centre-backs restricted his game time.

At Aston Villa, he adds depth to a squad fighting on several fronts, competing with Ezri Konsa (£4.5m) for the right-sided centre-back spot.

10:00 – ALEX JIMENEZ (AC MILAN TO BOURNEMOUTH, LOAN)

Joining on an initial loan, there’s an obligatory purchase should the 20-year-old make 18 league starts.

But will he? Bournemouth’s backline has kept consecutive clean sheets, with club captain Adam Smith (£4.5m) playing in the Spaniard’s favoured right-back spot.

The youngster started 14 times in Serie A after joining Milan permanently from Real Madrid last summer. FPL prices him at £4.5m.

WEEKEND DEALS

FPL Gameweek 20: The Big Numbers

With business escalating towards a Monday deadline, it meant the weekend brought some big deals.

Tall but silky centre-forward Nick Woltemade (£7.0m) moves to Newcastle United in a deal worth up to £69m, while Alejandro Garnacho (£6.4m) is the latest Manchester United attacker to join Chelsea, for around £40m.

Continuing their own transfer momentum is Nottingham Forest. Goalkeeper John Victor (£4.0m) is another player to join them from Botafogo this summer. Furthermore, they stayed in Turin after the Douglas Luiz (£5.0m) deal to also grab 22-year-old defender Nicolo Savona (£4.5m.

Does Isak make Gakpo and Etikite non-options now?

Or do we think he's not going to play for a few weeks?

      Bottomed so will reply

The idea of Isak not playing for Liverpool straight after the break is being overblown imo. 2 international games he’ll play now and then he’s back. Can see him starting and coming off at 70 minutes

I have Isak but don’t think he’ll start straight away. I reckon two sub appearances for Sweden then two from bench for Liverpool. He’s had no preseason and is three weeks off pace. But I reckon he can easily rack up points from bench and will be in a lethal mood.

Dewsbury-Hall played 60 minutes of pre-season then played 90 in every match. It depends on the player.

Agree with this. Don’t think it’s a big issue due to the 2 games with Sweden he’ll have. Just depends

I don't think he starts vs Burnley but surely becomes a threat to all current Liverpool attackers except Salah from GW5 onwards. I'm an Ekitike owner and planning to offload him after the Burnley game.

I’d argue he would boost the appeal of other attackers. However Ekitiké is quite clinical right now. It’s generally not a great managerial move to throw a new player into the squad. The squad has a system. Think Sesko. He didn’t just appear in the Starting XI. I’d argue Slot stays with what’s working (Ekitiké) and only phase Isak in slowly. It’s a complicated system because he won’t be the target man he was at Newcastle. I don’t see Isak being a success at Liverpool.

What are you smoking? He was not the target man for long balls at Newcastle. He bagged 23 goals and is clinical. He will be a success at liverpool once he gets fits. Just like wirtz for the price paid, He will play up front..ekiteke and gakpo will rotate on the wing.

That is the same signs as last time Coach will be getting sacked just like Cooper did after all them transfers.

Forgot that timeline but yes. Nuno got most of what he was moaning about though - two fullbacks anyway- but forest fans were saying he’s already checked out.

Isak surely becomes essential once starting.

10.4m and nailed on in the Liverpool attack - likely to be the league top scorers.

looks like Haaland, Isak, Pedro will become template from GW6 onwards

The lack of pens hurts but I think I agree given how they've played this season. Ekitike has hogged all the xG.

Haaland is worth the price when City are firing. And if Haaland wasn’t £14m and Salah was injured, then everyone would own him anyway

They’ve done the prices well in that case

for him to be essential think he would have to be getting at least 6.5 points per start this season

would be some doing, i mean maybe hes got that in him. if he is that good, then its great for fpl. saka/palmer/isak as a trio is a very solid alternative to any salah/haaland teams. a fixed template will never form in that case, would love that

          A) Haaland and Pedro, bench Guiu every week

          Sanchez / Dub
          Porro, Romero, Andersen, Murillo, Esteve
          Salah, Bruno, Cunha*, Rejnders, Anderson
          J Pedro, Wood, JSL

          2.3 mitb, 1 FT

Gw4 doesn't look good with these fixtures, but I don't see this worth FH or WC yet. Cunha out for someone and perhaps Esteve upgrade for a hit to prepare BB and bench those 2nd and 3rd striker and play 4-5-1? I can see defcon potential to many of my other players. Bad week again though 🙁 What would you do?

You’re close to a WC with that team… if you feel there are others you can bring in that will make your team better and set you up for until the next 5 FT’s. Then yeh go for the wild card.. it’s all fun anyway

My biggest fear is getting it wrong if my WC fails. A lot has happened in this transfer window and new players may need some time to gel in. Too early for Isak for example. Betting others to fail with their WC and waiting for more info and fixture change sounds like a plan also. However, the points cost of next gw is worrying.

Kevin is a winger. Career stats:
              - LW: 70 games
              - RW: 5 games
              - CF: 4 games

Not that King won't have competition - it just won't be from Kevin.

          Fulham signed Shakhtar Donetsk's Brazilian winger Kevin, 22, for a club-record £34.6m.

Weird how Gakpo and Ekitike are both predicted to price rise tonight. I would have thought both become somewhat worse assets with Isak signing.

Most people have no clue about signings or even if they do, think twice about the ramifications of new signings. Once either is benched for Isak they will be sold by mass casuals.

He gives hope. It may be false though. Not sure of his immediate impact on Watkins' form. People are selling Watkins until he scores and perhaps even after that if Isak starts well.

          I have 0 Pool-players in my team.

My plan was to FH this week to get some Pool-attackers in. Does Isak coming in change things so much that this is now a bad idea?

Which players do we feel confident will play good minutes for them this GW?

Probably the worst week to FH in Pool players as we have no information as to how Slot wants to lineup with all the options he has available now.

I will be very keen to see which way they go with Wissa and Woltemade. Gut says Wissa with the experience is the PL starter, but he may play a lot of 60-70 minute games.

Potentially not much different to Wissa really. The difference is Pool attack vs Toon attack. Is that work 3.0 if they are playing similar mins? Probably not...

              1. martynteresa
                  3 months, 4 days ago

Thats my thinking. NC have a good service supply in Barnes, Elanga, Murphy, Gordon, Guimares.

Players coming from Germany often dont work out or take time to adapt.

I can see Wissa being the immediate starter in GW4 especially with Osula gone and a wasteful Gordon at No9 out until 28th Sept.

Pool attack v NC attack. Who was the last No 9 to score 20 at Pool.

The attack shares a lot of the goals around with the exception of Mo

The NC attack is geared to providing service to the No 9

I think Wissa will play short term I just wonder what his role is long term, no harm in watching for a week or two. I agree on NEW's tactics being geared around the service for their 9 and if one is the standout PL option playing 70+ mins, I may go them.

Isak by far the best pure goal scoring 9 Pool have had in the Salah era. Firmino was more of a false, everyone else up top has mostly been a disguised or false 9, or at least a drifting 9. We have already seen Ekitike with a higher share of goals this year in that 9 role and hes closer to Isak's style.

It will be interesting. I am tempted to forego Haaland and Mo with Isak, Saka and Palmer until my WC in 12/13ish. Maybe swap Salah and Wood/Evanilson for Saka and Isak in GW7 once we have more information. Haaland I may FH for in 6 and otherwise avoid as its so hard for him to get more than 6 points this season it seems.

hmm your aiming for that fixture swing in GW13 too for your wildcard
my first year playing, learnt as much as i could as fast as i could, settled on needing the wildcard for that swing
seems a lot on here wildcarding just cos their choices havent hit in 1st 3 GW's, figure patience is needed not wholesale switching of players but what do i know

Only if I can hold enough FT's in the next few weeks to get to ARS triple up in 7 which I think is nearly a must. I think I can manage, just!

Historically, if your team is really battling early, using the first 2-3 weeks as data analysis and then WC once the window closes to your ideal team. It's a genuinely good strategy, but only if your team is cooked. You would need say 5 clear sells to WC this early.

Too early to wild card this mess?
Or stick to the original plan which was to WC in 13.
                BB - gw 5
                FH - gw 6.

                Sels

Porro - Neco - Andersen

                Salah - Writz - Sarr - Barnes - Rogers
Pedro - Watkins

Dubravka - Diouf - Rodon - Krup Jnr

If no wild card I can just do Rogers to Semenyo tonight before the price rise.

He’s currently in my draft as don’t want to have to take a hit to bring him in.

I’d want some Liverpool players in there for GW4 so maybe Gakpo short term if Salah is unaffordable.

Both strong picks. Sarr probably the safer pick long term.

Nightmare of a start so been forced into an early WC. Thoughts on this?

                Raya (Dubravka)
                Chalobah, Livramento, Lacroix (Senesi, Rodon)
                Mbeumo, Gakpo, Eze, Semenyo (King)
                Haaland, Isak, Pedro

I’ve actually got Grealish instead of Eze in my current draft! Also keeping an eye on I.Sarr ahead of Mbeumo.

Chelsea's easier start fixtures come to an end after Brentford away(not easy). Man U, BHA, LIV, FOR, Sunderland, TOT up next 7 games
Eze - short on starts and or minutes
Semenyo has a track record of hit and miss patches
                      UTD dont look good
Raya has Man City, NC in next 3 games.

Whats your existing team. Does it need to be wildcarded now after just 3 games

Add in Isak may not start for a good 3 games

All valid points - thanks! I am trying to think slightly mid-long term too as you don’t get many of these.

I could start with Salah and a 4.5 FWD until Isak starts hitting gear.

Would leave me with something like this (and 0.6 ITB):

                          Raya (Dubravka)
                          Chalobah, Livramento, Lacroix, Senesi (Rodon)
                          Salah, Gakpo, Semenyo, Sarr/Grealish (King)
                          Haaland, Pedro (Barnes)

Salah, Barnes > Isak, Mbeumo then possible with over 1m to spare.

Excellent team. If eze plays, better than grealish given arsenal 's fixture swing in a few weeks. Get one of the arsenal def ghan raya.

Maybe good that the Guehi transfer collapsed. Otherwise, 80% ownership in a few days.

Otherwise, crazy deadline day, lots of interesting new players, even a few goalkeepers. There will be lots of surprises and it will be harder to predict nailed players.

Can't believe people are still buying Gakpo and Etikike. One of both is likely not to play from the start thanks to Isak. Plus, Chiesa wasn't sold who might become the comeback story of the year. Will be like Fury in the Slaughterhouse for whoever will be benched..

Apropos, another price change bloodbath massacre coming in soon.

Isak. No preseason and training on his own.
Now plays 2 games that are not FPL
Pulls a hamstring and out for another 4 weeks.
                          Just sayin.
If people want to buy him they should wait and see how he gets through the 2 Sweden games
So what if he is back up 0.1m by then.
