With Matchday 2 of UEFA Champions League (UCL) Fantasy nearly here, it’s time to consult our all-new UCL Fixture Ticker for a look at the best match-ups.

We’ll also cross-check with the bookies’ odds.

By assessing fixture difficulty, we hope to give you a good idea of the players and teams to target with your transfers ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

BEST FIXTURES: MATCHDAY 2 IN ISOLATION

UCL Matchday 2 best

There’s only one place to start with the Matchday 2 ties.

Real Madrid‘s trip to Kairat Almaty is the headline act. Some bookies are as short as 1/25 (an implied probability of 96%) for Xabi Alonso’s side to triumph.

The Kazakh minnows were battered 4-1 by Sporting in Matchday 1, conceding the second-highest number of xG (3.7) in the opening week.

Not far behind Real in the bookmakers’ market are Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga giants are also on their travels – this time at Pafos.

The Cypriot outsiders gained a creditable draw at Olympiacos last time out but Bayern are not just a step up in class, they’re an entire flight of stairs. Again, their implied probabilty of victory in midweek is near the 95% mark.

According to the odds-makers, Arsenal are the next Matchday 2 bankers. The aforementioned Olympiacos visit the Emirates.

The Greek champions aren’t quite Kairat-level minnows; they boasted the best defensive record in the UEFA Europa League group stage last season. A 1-0 win away at Porto was a high.

Still, the bookies fancy the Gunners have an 85% chance of prospering this week.

Elsewhere, and fresh from excellent-to-decent Matchday 1 results, Qarabag and Copenhagen have favourable fixtures – but they’re both against each other! Making them both seem normal size

Excellent and unexpectedly comprehensive opening-day wins for Bruges and USG make Atalanta and Newcastle United‘s tasks seem not as straightforward as originally assumed. Indeed, both ‘favourites’ are only around evens for their ties.

By contrast, Liverpool and Manchester City are away at teams that were thumped in Matchday 1: Galatasaray and Monaco. Both English clubs are well odds-on to win.

BEST FIXTURES: LONGER RUNS

In this section, we’ve put together longer runs of favourable(ish) fixtures that various teams embark on from Matchday 2 onwards.

This is to help UCL Fantasy managers bring in players who they can hopefully ‘set and forget’ in upcoming Matchdays, rather than just one-week punts.

    Best move for this team?

    Sels (Dubravka)
    Cucurella-Munoz-Porro (Esteve-AWB)
    Salah-Semenyo-Ndiaye-Reijnders-Anderson
    Haaland-Richarlison (Guiu)

      Smooth:
      Haaland (TC), Enzo, Semenyo, Senesi.
Up another 1.2m places to 476k.

      Rough:
None of my other players scored more than 2 (apart from Lacroix and Anthony, who both stayed on my bench).

        Rough: didn't TC him

        Smooth:
        80 points (TC on Haaland).
Fifth green arrow and up to 30K.

Team will pretty string for next GW too:
        Vicario
        Gabriel - Virgil - Lacroix - Senesi - Andersen
        Salah - Semenyo
        Haaland - Mateta
        + Gordon/Woltemade

        Rough:
Morphing into a 5-3-2 or 5-2-3, but can't decide between Gordon + Guiu and Woltemade + cheapie midfielder.
Hope CL will throw some light on my decision-making.

Smooth: WC worked, Haaland (C), Gabriel helped a lot, BOU boys are good and been consistent.

Rough: Everything else. Chalobah and Bruno. Pedro issue? No Defcons. Will have to play Roden this week unfortunately, though playing at home at least.

Smooth: I was oddly relaxed watching my TC Haaland toil away on a measly assist... "no worries, I still have triple Spurs to come".

Rough: Triple Spurs - Van de Blank, Xavi S1mmons, Poorcharlison

      3. AAAFootball
          2 months, 6 days ago

Smooth: TC Haaland getting 71% of this week's points. Semenyo did alright as well
Rough: Everyone else getting 13pts put together, from 9 players averaging just over 1.5pts/player

Benched lacraox as well which was annoying.

But looking foward to the promised land of WC8!!

Smooth - triple captain success (especially after wasting it in a SGW vs. Soton last year!)
Kelleher penalty save was the first one I've had in a long long time and nice swing with many owning Bruno

Rough - basically most other players blanked, similar to many others
My defence is not in a good place, I thought Porro might get rested but still was hard to bench vs. Wolves and also got a Dorgu 0 pointer

haha think i might have done the same last year, its partially erased from my memory but i knew i was chasing and decided to unwisely risk it against promoted team
              21pts i think?

              Season over. 3.3mil.
              No more to be said

Smooth: TC Haaland, Semenyo, Senesi, Enzo
Rough: 5 two pointers and 25 points on the bench!
82 points and big rise in rank so happy with that.

Smooth all the way 5 green arrows & almost 5 figure rank after first chip played TC Haaland.
Took three hits, playing same game following gut, just everything falling into place.

Smooth: Planning on bringing in Haaland for TC after my daughter got selected to be a Mascot at the game and keeping faith in Watkins.

Rough: Even though I brought in Haaland and I though TC'd him, it seems this didnt save on my desktop version and after checking if Bruno had any DC bonus, I realised Haaland was on my bench! I sat through 90 mins pitch side of feeling lucky until he bagged 2 goals. My TC ended up on Ndiaye and all my attackers played, leaving Haaland on the bench and Ndiaye with a 6 point return.

My daughter enjoyed her time as a mascot though!

Smooth; 2nd best GW of the season at 717k rank / 74 points and jumped back up to where I was before last week's disaster from 1.8m OR to 887k. Haaland(TC) came in as part of a 3 move trade. Gabriel haul. That was my points basically!

Rough; Watkins scoring the week you sell. All other 9 players 0/1/2 pointers!

Smooth: Brought in Håland (C), Gabriel, Senesi and Semenyo on wildcard.

Rough: Sold Watkins, Bowen and Woltemade who all scored. Got Rice vs. Reijnders wrong for the second week in a row.

            Thinking of doing this later this week before deadline;

            Grealish > Eze

            Y or N

ARS have a great run of fixtures & think Grealish is the only one in my team to make way.
