Triple Captain chips, Free Hits and some of those extra free transfers have been widely lavished on Arsenal players in Gameweek 16.

Tonight, the league leaders take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers side still without a win or clean sheet in 2025/26.

Will it be a cricket score or an anticlimax?

Kick-off at the Emirates is at 20:00 GMT.

TEAM NEWS

It’s positive news on the fitness front as all four of the Gunners marked at ‘75%’ in the FPL flag system make the matchday squad.

William Saliba, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice start, while Leandro Trossard is among the substitutes.

Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze also come back into the side following midweek rests.

Compared to last weekend’s line-up against Aston Villa, rather than the much-changed XI sent out against Club Brugge, there are three changes.

It’s Gabriel Martinelli, Viktor Gyokeres and Saliba in for Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and the suspended Riccardo Calafiori.

As for the beleagured visitors, Rob Edwards makes three changes to the side that lost to Manchester United.

Matt Doherty and Joao Gomes are back from injury and suspension, with Hwang Hee-chan joining them in the line-up.

Ki-Jana Hoever and Jhon Arias drop to the bench, while Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is injured.

LINE-UPS

Arsenal XI: Raya, White, Timber, Saliba, Hincapie, Zubimendi, Rice, Eze, Martinelli, Saka, Gyokeres.

Subs: Arrizabalaga, Jesus, Trossard, Odegaard, Norgaard, Madueke, Nwaneri, Merino, Lewis-Skelly.

Wolverhampton Wanderers XI: Johnstone, Doherty, Agbadou, Toti, Mosquera, Wolfe, Krejci, Joao Gomes, Andre, Hwang, Strand Larsen.

Subs: Sa, Bueno, Arias, Arokodare, Chirewa, Hoever, Lopez, Mane, Tchatchoua.

It isn’t that easy breaking down a team that basically wouldn’t come out of their own penalty box all of the first half.

If this was an open game that would be different, but Wolves have one game plan and they are executing it well at the moment.

Eventually, though, they’ll have a lapse in concentration and Arsenal will score.

Saka has been poor since that West Ham haul last year just before his injury

he's been the best player on the pitch. ran past the defender on multiple occasions, created the most chances

its just gyokeres being crap again and ive no idea why rice and zubimendi are starting together vs wolves

      1. Qaiss
        • 10 Years
        29 days, 31 mins ago

Zubimendi shouldn’t be starting today yeah

Don’t think there has been a best player on the pitch. Saka is meant to take the game by the scruff of the neck and make something happen, as what top players do but as I said he’s not done that for a long time now

        1. Qaiss
          • 10 Years

And he’d probably be playing a bit better with Havertz instead of Gyokeres for sure

I do disagree. He has been doubled very often and he has had "similarish" issues as Salah this season. Slow attack and not enough White overlapping or Øde being close to help. Eze hattie happened only because of Saka being doubled. Some teams have kept Haaland from scoring, but then came Foden...

      This is more complicated sometimes.

      1. Qaiss
        • 10 Years
        29 days, 35 mins ago

Fair points but he hasn’t had a game where he’s just looked ‘on it’ for a long time

You saw how Madueke played in midweek

    5. Utopsis

Don't know what game you are watching.

Saka must singlehandedly open a team up, irrespective of how the other 10 players are doing and how the opponent sets up.

      Have you ever played football?

      1. Qaiss

Of course I’ve played football. Does FPL Harry pick your team for you? Will you burst into tears because your captain hasn’t hauled yet?

I haven't mentioned my FPL team once - you have twice.

Presumably you can hold a normal conversation about football without involving FPL?

              Perhaps not.

My original comment wasn’t related to FPL

And then your FPL head got the better of you because you don’t watch many games it seems? That’s okay I suppose
