With many of the big clubs choosing to splash the cash this summer, there are plenty of highly-priced midfield recruits firmly under the Fantasy radar over the first few Gameweeks. In today’s Members article, we analyse the displays of Santi Cazorla and Shinji Kagawa against Sunderland and Everton respectively, and also run the rule over Eden Hazard’s first couple of league appearances in a Chelsea shirt:

Rather bizarrely, all three players’ last games for their respective clubs saw the trio produce an identical number of successful passes in the final third – a figure superior to any other player in Gameweek 1 and a clear indication as to how important they will prove to be over the season ahead. Looking at their roles within their new clubs, we compare each player’s stats to key individuals within their own teams as well as highlighting how the trio differ from one another in style:

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Hazard's 0.2 and possible 0.3 price rise this week is ridiculous. Newcastle - gw2, and then they have zilch in gw3. Why load up now, and not wait instead for gw4?

      any number of reason:

lots of people see hi scoring points but don't realise he's not playing in GW3

people want him before he rises even further.

people are doing Mata > Hazard.

Lampard -> Bale worth a 4 point hit?
Torres -> RVP worth a 4 point hit?
Both worth an 8 point hit?

I think the answer to all 3 might be "no", but that leaves me without any MUN or TOT attacking coverage. My rival has taken a 4 point hit to bring in Michu and Rooney (he has Bale already), so in a way an 8 pointer is only really a 4 pointer. I care more about beating him than overall rank - should I do it?

    Repost..

    Quote from AVB re VdV

“He was a player that came back to us late so the selection was pretty straightforward for Gylfi Sigurdsson in the game against Newcastle.

“Now Rafa has trained with us all week and he’s looking strong and is in contention.

“He’s a player of great importance for us. I’m not sure if Hamburg are interested but he’s a player who at the moment is not for sale.”

The people saying don't captain Michu are the very ones who said he wouldn't do anything this season. I know it's the first week but no one was expecting an 18 point return from him away to QPR. No reason why it would be any different at home to West Ham. I don't rate Jaaskelainen any more than I do Green. So for that reason I'll stick with Michu. Even if he gets a 2-pointer I'll be happy going with my gut and failing rather than someone trying to persuade me to do otherwise ...

I honestly have no other choices that stand out to me other than Michu.

Don't trust Bale against a WBA side that looked good.
Torres V Newcastle is too much of a gamble.
Nasri/Tevez might flop if Liverpool keep it tight at Anfield.
        Kagawa is also a risk.

Michu looked good last game and is playing at home to a team weaker than the one last week (on paper)

Good luck and it's a great attitude to have all the way through the game. I didn't watch any of the matches in GW1 and have no real affinity to Michu (other than the nice points he got me!) so i'll be going with Rooney. He's about as safe an option as there is this week imo

Feel guilty for this after his haul last week, but I think I'm bringing in Lambert for Petric. Is he back in the Saints' starting XI?

Torres & Ramires > Defoe & Hazard 4 point hit

Yay or nay. Been forcing myself not to take a hit all week but think it's too important to get Hazard in before anymore rises.

He will defiantly start Adebayor hasn't had a pre season and will be eased in. Defoe > Adebayor once he's fit.
