A neck injury could keep John Terry from facing up to Papiss Cisse and company at the Bridge. Chico is a doubt for Swansea as they prepare to host the Hammers, who will be boosted by the fleet feet of new signing Matt Jarvis at the Liberty.

Wojciech Szczesny is a minor doubt for Arsenal’s battle at the Britannia. Sir Alex Ferguson primes Robin Van Persie for a start against Fulham, in the hope that he’ll provide the goals to compensate for the injuries at the back – despite press rumours, the United boss confirms that his array of crocked defenders remain sidelined.

All this and more has been collected and collate for you, along with our punt on the lineups for the Gameweek fixtures, over in the team news section.

We’ll update this right through the evening and up to tomorrow’s deadline. Keep ’em peeled for the very latest via the Twitter feed.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yeah, thats the point of a hit though. It's more of a long term thing too, to cover Swansea's good fixtures. Can see Graham outscoring Pog over the next few weeks, wanted him from the start, but punted on Pog for the DGW.

Could argue that being as Pog scored 5 more than Graham, I've already paid the 4pt hit, and gained a point from doing it.

bad logic saying its more long term since you can do the transfer for free next week. its all about this week and whether or not you think graham will score 4 more points than pog. the only other consideration are price rises/falls but neither player looks set to change price.

I disagree. I may have other transfers for next week anyway (still got money for RVP/Rooney burning a hole in my pocket). So yes, if I knew I wouldn't make a transfer GW3 I could wait it out. But, suspecting that I will, doing it this week would give me an extra week to pay back the hit. Don't need to pay back a hit in the first week to make it worthwhile.

fair enough if you've got other plans for your next free. it would be really cool to have a statistic that showed of all the transfers for hits in the entire league what percent of them worked where the player coming in scored 4 more points than the player going out in that gameweek. i think it would be a low percentage. but then you could also extend that to have a stat for comparing how many points the player coming in scores over the entire time you keep him, i assume this might be higher.

Just a thought (picked up from a comment on here a few days ago, forgot the username)
Money-wise, is RVP worth it? Hear me out.

2000 points is a decent total over the year.
2000 / 100 (points per million, or ppm) = 20 ppm per year.
If RVP costs 13m then he should return a minimum of 20*13 = 260 points, and even then he's going at an average.

I know he returned 269 points last year, but do we really expect him to replicate last year's returns?

Kagawa, on the other hand, at 8.5 is expected to return just 170 points in the year.
Also, there are just three striker spots, whereas there are five midfield spots.

    So Kagawa > RVP?
Or is my logic flawed? (Explain, please)

Yep I understand the logic, the only issue is the captains armband. With RVP you will hope for consistant high scoring returns. So he might not hit that magic 260 barrier but with your captain points accounting for about 25% of your overall total then having a player like RVP could make a big difference to where you finish.

Hm, yeah. The armband. But we have plenty of big hitters like Adebayor or Bale or even Hazard from the looks of it.
Also Cazorla and Giroud might get into the mix of things.
So I guess it all comes down to how we expect RVP to perform at United, right?

I think both are a great shout. Kagawa looks like he will be an assist machine... he made plenty of through balls to put someone through against everton (unfortunately that someone was often nani or welbeck)... so once the team settle down I think he will be a safe bet each week.

It's a tough choice between the 2 if I'm honest

Was that my post by any chance?

The way I see it, prices are fixed based on what fpl estimate the players will score over the season (heavily based on last seasons scores), so a player will have to match or beat that score in order for him to be good value for money

The key to success in this game is to pick the players that are going to overperfrom their price tag. I just can't see RVP doing that seeing as he price was based on him being the main man at arsenal and playing every game.

I honestly don't remember whose post it was. It was some an answer to someone who asked "How many points would you trade for an extra 0.5m in budget". If it was you who did answer, then you must get the credit. Maybe it's common thinking here, but I never thought of it that way. So to me, it was brilliant.

Anyway, what are you saying? You're saying you won't get in RVP throughout the season?

There is logic in this BUT not the whole storry. I think he may not get as any points as he did for many reasons(not injured, only star in the team, took free kick peno's etc). That said he still offers up a great captains choice still and from your comparison how many times would you captain kagawa?

He was a MUCH better captain choice at arsenal. Hence the massive price tag. Last season, if arsenal scored well, RVP was nine times out of ten top points scorer. That won't be the case at Man Utd

if you captain rvp most weeks then your logic goes out the window! captain rvp and you should be getting 520 points off him!!! i like your logic though it makes sense but it looks like an excuse not to get rvp more than a reason

Not quite. If I captain someone like, say, Ade who at 9.5 provides me with 200 points in the year, he should return 400 with the armband. What I want to know is, is the difference of 120 points worth the 3.5m?

    Terry / Cuellar / Zab
    VDV / Bale (c) / Dyer / Kagawa
    Graham / Tevez / Torres

    Federici - Clyne / Hangeland / HRK

Does this look good to go - might change the armband to Tevez.

Should I change Terry to Baines now for a hit? Thanks!

What is the obsession with people binning all their Chelsea players because the have a blank next week? If you only play the game on a week to week basis fair enough but it's only 1 round of matches then they play qpr and STO. Do you get Chelsea players back in for those games? Mental.

If there are no other burning transfer issues, it makes sense as you don't want to be stuck with a quarter of your budget on the bench come GW3. I am getting rid of 2 (Mata to Kagawa this week, Torres to Adebayor next), then doing Bale to Hazard the week after. Of course all could change after the next round of matches 🙂

    1. Already have Michu in my team, should I play Graham along with Torres and Tevez(c) ?
    2. Should I play Lampard or Pienaar (already have 2 more chelsea players : Torres and A.Cole) Pienaar might give me the Everton coverage against AVL but Lamps takes the pens in the most awesome way! Dilemma!
P.S. Others in mid are Kagawa, Michu and Yaya

Am I the only one that has Aguero & is being a stubborn git & waiting out the 2 weeks?

Plus I need to take out Chelsea players (& possibly Rafael if he doesn't play) in order to field a full team on gw3 so I don't want to take a 4 point hit....

    Afternoon,
Pardon my ignorance and 'nOOB-ness' but...

I have already made 2 changes this week already and not sure if it was for a hit or not? Have I already taken a 4pt hit yet or were they 2 'free' transfers?
Last season before ultimately confirming your transfers it would tell you that you've made more than one transfer and any extra would result in a hit.

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Kolarov
    Hernandez
    Balotelli
    Arteta (too borderline!)
    Carrick

    Defoe
    Modric (last year)

    Degay
    cole gorks clyne (hangeland hangeland)
    michu tarabt valencia nasri (ramires)
    tevez torres podolski

    Quick few questions:
    1. who to make cpt?
    2. my def is weak, have 0 in the bank so should i transfer out kaboul (although he will be back next week so not keen to take him out). i can take out gorkss but dont see any def at 4m who will keep a clean sheet so might as well save a transfer
    3. Want to take out ramires since his price will drop tomz but he is not in my starting line up and if i save a transfer, i can take out both tarabt and ramires next week to bring in bale.

    All answers welcome!

Who is your 5th def, cant be hangeland twice

With the options you have id save the transfer if thats how youre planning things
