Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

these pages are moving way too fast...

Swap bale for hazard now? i know it sounds terrible but heres my thoughts…

My starting lineup next week would be..

    DDG
    Zaba, Hughes, Demel
    Pienaar, Michu, Bale(NOR-H), Yaya
    RVP, Tevez, Graham

If i were to get Hazard, the only difference would be Noble(FUL-H) instead of bale.(4 point hit as well)
Its my only chance to get hazard before the price rise/drop tonight, so not sure wether or not to go ahead
Now begin calling me an idiot below

Also what do people think of Ramires to A.Johnson, especially with a double on the horizon?

There will always be rotation at Utd, so no point trying to second guess Fergie.

Can someone please answer these questions:

    1. How did N’Zog and Villa look? Very tempting to ship him off to Kagawa etc.
    2. Should I keep Torres? 2 goals in as many games and 3 bonus points makes me think he’s back. Did he look like he’s back to his best?
    3. Is RVP essential after Rooney’s injury? As I said, I might keep Torres and could have Kagawa as United cover instead.

      1. Absolutely awful.
      2. I'm holding onto him, sole striker playing in front of a killer midfield.
      3. Erm.

It sounds like we're in the same boat. I want to know if RVP is an absolute must-have for the season. If I got Kagawa as my united cover I could keep Torres and bring in hazard at some point.

      1. villa look terrible... stay away... in other words, kagawa is a great swap..
      2. if you're not considering getting him back after the blank, keep him... he will prosper...
      3. rvp is probably essential after roonpig's injury... however, he is costing you 13... it's something to consider...

      1. Apparently awful (did not see the game but followed the comments here during the match)
      2. If you have a decent lineup without ditching Torres for GW3, keep him. He has strong fixtures for GWs 4 and 5. (tbh it is 2 goals in 3 games)
      3. I think you could be ok with only Kagawa. Utd has quite a long set of bad fixtures after GW4.

I think Ade and Ba are probably the best value strikers available now, so torres out for Ade is a good transfer even for a hit. Not owning RVP worries me too, but I just think that at 13 mil he may not be worth it. Especially as United only have 2 good fixtures, I cant see myself keeping him for the entire season anyway.
