With the Gameweek completed by a classic Anfield tussle, it’s time for our members to scan some of the key statistics from the weekend matches to help identify the form and trends that could help shape future Fantasy selections…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Second 8 point hit in a row this week to be able to afford RVP in time for southamton and clear out some reading players... hate to do it but thankfully still top of most of my leagues on 164. Baines was great a few yrs back when he was cheap but at 7m he needs to seriously perform to justify and his performance last year wasnt good enough. Really decent start by everton though so he is tempting...

    Evening all...

With RVP increasing and Rooney dropping (and will drop like a stone if the Telegraph article is to be believed), I've made a change... This is my team going into GW3 - any thoughts?

    Freidel / Ruddy
Williams / Rafael / Figueroa bench Cuellar and Ivanovich
Michu / Pienaar / Yaya Toure / Kacaniklic bench Hazard
    Tevez / Graham / RVP

Nothing left in the bank so just time to do RVP in...

Saints... I'd love to stand on my soapbox preaching that the picks were from GW1 but sadly not.

GW 1 - 70 points - Aguero out injured so transferred in Rooney and a 4 point hit for Michu
        GW2 - 58 points - Rooney then out injured.

Bottom of my mini league so it's a wildcard as I don't want to take another 4, 8 or 12 point hit so early on without the scores to cusion me. I wildcarded last year in GW 4 and that worked out ok for me then so I'm trying to build a team to last till January with just minor tinkering when required

It was a 50/50 before the season started. Demel missed loads of game through injury last season but nailed down a place in fat Sam's starting 11 for the last 10 games of last season. Demel is a little bit more attacking of the two full backs, imo.
It still will take a few more games to see how it pans out.

difficult to tell right now, I have Chico but Swansea are yet top face a really decent side..... If you can get a Newcastle/sunderland rotation so that one is always playing at home then thats probably your best bet longer term

Any chance Chelsea's new right back could steal some game time from Ivanovic?????

Another good reason for me to release Ivanovic then.. It's probably not soon, but it will happen.

So, I’ve played my WildCard after waking up and being uncontrollably pissed at Lescott and Sceszney not playing overnight.

My new team looks like this:

    Friedal, Jaskaleinen
    Zabaleta, Ivanovic, Jenkinson, Rangel, Demel
    Hazard, Kagawa, Toure, Dyer, Kacaniklic
    RVP, Tevez, Graham

Decided to get on board the RVP-wagon, mainly due to the plethora of bargain-basement defensive options at the moment. Also may well end up opting or El Ahmadi over Kac.

    Goalkeepers

Initially bought Vorm into the lineup, but Friedal and Rangel offered the best pathway into both Swansea and Spurs defensive returns (which will hopefully be fruitful..)

    Defense

I figure Zabaleta looks relatively safe at the moment, at a bare minimum for a month or so till Richards comes back, and quite possibly longer. Jenkinson will do me in the short-term. Hopefully will make some money to use a double trade and upgrade him in a month’s time once Sagna is back. Demel was a bit of a coin toss, but seems to be one of two best 4.0 options.

    Mids

Missed the Michu bangwagon last week and opted for Dyer instead, I’ll stick with him going forward.

    Forwards

I had Torres prior to pulling the trigger on the WC, but think RVP, Tevez and Graham is a pretty gun combination up front.

Any comments/criticism would be greatly appreciated, especially regarding my keeper combo and defensive selections.

no reason why anyone would want, or have, el ahmadi. defensive mid in a poor team. get guthrie or someone proper if price is so restrictive

Thanks mate, appreciate the reply. Haven't actually caught any of Villa's games so haven't seen him in action. Will bear that in mind and check out Guthrie.

With Beausajeour getting fit, who do you reckon would lose his starting berth?

    Figueroa? Alcaraz? or Ramis?

I dont really want to discuss wigan right now 🙂

I'm not sure Martinez will change much - from what i've seen Ramis is a liabality and the other two look alright, particulaly Fig who seems to get forward a lot.

i'v been saying for quite a while that torres is going to come good for chelsea (never had him last season but was always tempted to get him). from the last 3 games av seen i have to say, i think with his movement and his 1st choice fw role for chelsea its looking pretty good, so why the hell am i still unsure about him?

I reckon I could score playing in front of the chelsea midfield, Torres will bag a few this season and signs are he's starting to get his swagger back, that stupid wrong footed cross being a fine example.
